Re(1): is there a way i can get away, or its meant to be? no matter how u played the preflop or flop would have made any difference or turn. He flopped top pair and woulda called a push, and if u see the turn he still would not have folded with top pair and flush draw. bottom line......very unlucky. A bigger preflop raise in a 6 handed game would have only won a small pot....6 handed u have to create action. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): odds on flopping a straight flush ?? BOINK ? good bet on flop, however u need to check the turn . It shows weakness with the 4 diamonds on board and he may have attempted a bluff steal. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Is there any way this play would ever show a profit in the long run? Sorry I read it wrong, u were up against a pure donk...very odd late in the touney. He musta been watching poker on TV....10 2......what an idiot or he may just be a new player.....them $5 touney are brutal. Just keep playing solid ...in the long run u willl come out ahead and donkey boy will wind up in jail because he will lose all his money and cant feed his family and he will turn to the life of crime....load another good luck Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Is there any way this play would ever show a profit in the long run? well...smuve seems like a pure donkey, unless he was bluffing and got caught. If u woulda raised either 3X or 4X the blind he may not have tried to bluff you. ur mini raise showed weakness. That late in the tourney I dont think mr 10 2 thought he had a monster....he was just trying to bluff and got caught and got lucky. plus u were on the button so he thought u were making a standard steal move. Button raises BB pushes ....9 out of 10 times the button folds....however u had a monster that time...so that is why u need to raise bigger PF with AA on button. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Queens early in $55 stars mtt Since it is still early in the tourney and u havent invested much time I woulda instacall.....I think he had JJ or dimes. because alot of people with JJ or dimes to a preflop raise 7X BB have a hard time playing a flop...so they push. That is how I play JJ or dimes early in tourney in that situation....if u lose just go load another.....instacall great double up opportunity. But also....he coulda had AK AQ AJ........still an instacall early in tourn... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Why? He may be a donk, however 400 BB he felt pot committed and thought u were doing a standard allin move on the button with no limpers. With AJ 4 handed I woulda called also being 400 in BB. I like to play for 1st and not worry bout only making the money. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): late in a s-n-g Pushing with KQ to a preflop raiser=INSANE. and calling with A5=Arag also=INSANE. Never push to a preflop raiser with KQ.....if u get called....most of the time they have Ace rag and ur beat PF. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): do you call on first hand/help me on 2nd hand? 1st hand...throw out a continuation feeler bet to see where ur at...if he re-raises....easy fold. I dont think he woulda smooth called...more likely he woulda check raised, there was a possible flush and str draw on the flop ( is why he was looking for a check raise). Again, easy fold. 2nd hand....avoid tilt and wait for a top 10 hand (ur now in push or fold mode)...not Arag. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): wow U raised with KK, he re-raised, u should have only called and not re-raised allin. See a flop.....Ace on flop... u need to fold. Most likely he had AA or Ax. KK is a good preflop allin when ur stack is either bigger or smaller vs ur opponent. u both had equal stacks...those are the players u need to be more defensive with. See a flop..Ace on flop....ME=easy fold. wait for better timing. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): EVER slowplay?? 1st of all, if he was a blind defender u need to raise 4X or 5X the blind, if he not a defender raise the standard 3X. never let the BB see a flop for cheap (as in a mini raise or limp). He check raised u thinking u only had high cards, he made a good move thinking he was best, however u were best KK....and he got lucky. Winning a small pot is better than losing most of ur stack on a slow play. I never slow play monster hands, unless I know the table is loose and someone will raise my limp, and then I go over the top....or.... in a very short handed game. "Slow Play, No Pay!".....I call mini ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Interesting 4.40 spot I would call, nice to win all his chips instead of someone else. If u lose the race u still have 4K in chips and u can double or triple up of off him knowing he will push again. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): My Busto hand in 1k Super Tuesday on Stars In a hand with AJ and postion vs a bigger stack raise is dangerous. I woulda mini re-raised to feel him out. Most likely he woulda re-raised and it woulda been an easy fold for u (without feeling pot committed). U can find a better spot or hand to play with. Patience pays off. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Need advice on this hand There was not much u could do...he flopped an open ender, and his playing style seems that he would not have folded no matter what and he was ready to go allin on a draw, because it was early in the tourney....(in a low buy-in 1st hour is fish fest). Chalk it up as a bad beat suckout. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
