Not so subtle brag post. Congrats nonetheless. I would love to be apart of that. I am sure it is a memory that will far outlive the money.

Idk tough spot, don't have much time to think about it right now but will give you something quick. I just think that you can't only put him on QQ,KK and then put 22, 55 in his range as well. If those are in his range (22,55) then so are 66+ IMO. I can see him calling down with a hand like 99, because that board is just so juicy for a hand like that and you can be barrelling with AK, AQ, 66-88 etc. If the button is tight, I just don't see that many 3's in his range. You are getting ~2.3 to 1 (quick math might want to double check), so I am probably calling it down here. You only have to be ...

Hmm that's a little bit tougher of a spot I think. I have a couple questions before I go ahead with my analysis. Is 14 a standard raise preflop' I know in my 1-2NL games "standard" is anywhere from 12-16, so I would assume that that might be a smallish raise for a 1-3 game, but I've never played in one. When the player on the button has shown down 86o and 79o were these limped pots or has he been calling raises preflop with hands like that' Also what position was he in when showing these hands down' (if you recall) When the player on the button grabs chips, did he do so knowing that you ...

What is this guys table image' What is yours' To me it looks like this guy likes his hand a little bit, throws out a blocker to maybe stop you from firing a large third barrel. I think that this could be done with hands like Kx, Tx, and maybe even missed draws that end up pairing up, say 5xcc, 7xcc, 6xcc. Since I see it as a blocker and not as much as a weak value bet, I think that you probably can take it down here with a large enough bet around ~150' You have played the hand very strong here so it would be hard for him to call with just one pair and almost impossible without a K. However, ...

Live 1/2 Hand -- Call flop shove?
You can't just use a 2 and 4 rule. There is so much more to it than that. The hand can win in other ways than just hitting a pair, so yes even though they are long shots you need to factor them into your calculations. It is enough to change a play from -EV to +EV. Plus you don't even know if hitting a Q is good. Although that is an easy way to figure your outs on the fly, it's not really enough. It is most useful in situations where you know you are behind and need to find out if it is profitable to draw. You have to range hands a little better too. A4 and A5 are rarely in this guys range ...

Started a bankroll challenge
wow, 5-10. Atleast you are honest with us about it. If you keep "taking shots" you will be broke in no time, regardless of if you're a winning player or not. I will give you 4 days. Honestly, it sounds like you've been pretty horribad at this challenge if you've accepted a headsup challenge, and then sat at 5-10. Don't let your ego get to you, it won't withstand the swings of higher limit games.

Live 1/2 Hand -- Call flop shove?
This math is bad for several reasons. First of all, you narrow his range down way too far. You shouldn't be calculating it based on "if you are still alive" you should be calculating the equity based on his whole range, including those hands which have you drawing dead. Secondly, those outs are not the only way you can win the hand. Backdoor nut flush draw ships, straights chop. So not only are those percentages to win wrong, the number is irrelevant anyways because you aren't calculating his whole range. So although you know how to calculate outs, it seems as though the math application ...

Live 1/2 Hand -- Call flop shove?
First I would like to say I agree, that he probably doesn't think that 77 is the nuts, although he thinks he is good. He probably, rightly so, put you on a strong ace, and just wanted to pick up the pot there and not let you see any more cards. He thinks his 77 is good, although he (should) think JJ+ are in your range. He must have been very confident that you were on AJ,AQ,AK or else his play just doesn't make sense at all. I would say that you're probably not reraising with 22-TT, and only JJ+ and AQo+ but that just makes his preflop call horribad. His shove doesn't make a whole lot of ...

Live 1/2 Hand -- Call flop shove?
I think 77-TT is in his range a lot more than you would think. That is such a good flop for his hand, and he knows that overs are in your range so often and you are probably going to c-bet just about 100% here if you're competent. I would say that it is a lot more prevalent than him having 78s or something crumby like that after your large preflop raise.

Live 1/2 Hand -- Call flop shove?
If he is tight, and you have a solid table image as you have suggested, then his call preflop of your re-raise should be a very clear indicator of strength. I think that this is a laydown. Even if he is "bluffing" he is probably doing so with the best hand, AK or Spade draw. I really don't think that you have his range crushed enough to be calling. Generally an overbet is polarizing, but at these stakes a c/r on the flop is super strong so I'd lean towards strength again. I guess I don't see how you think you are good getting ~2:1. So with 160 to call a 305 pot you need to be good against ...

Live cash game aggressive players
That's exactly right. Notice that I said that you should only be playing premo hands in these raised pots pre. But most of the guys that I play with like this don't raise to 25 every single hand. Occassionally they will limp or call small pf raises. This is where you should be looking to get in set mining and with suited connectors, not in hands where it is raised to 25 pre. Just look to get into cheap pots with those kind of hands against opponents that will pay you off when you hit the nuts. Also you have to be able to fold those hands when you have mediocre holdings (Ex: hitting MP on ...

Live cash game aggressive players
I will take a stab. Normally in my games when I have players like this, I will literally just sit back and tighten up A LOT. Much of the time half the table or more doesn't even respect the hands you play even after you tighten up. You know if you just wait for a good hand, JJ+ AQs + you are going to get paid off huge. I also look for opportunities to get involved against them with hands that are easy to ship or let go of when they don't pop it a lot preflop. So say they call another persons $8 raise pf, this is a good spot to set mine with any PP and play a lot of Suited connectors in ...

I seriously have no clue what's wrong with me
I am pretty sure he is talking about training websites, not online poker websites. Anyways, it sounds like you have been doing a lot of the pre-game work. What about post game analysis' It is a little concerning if you haven't been able to find your leaks. Do you review hand histories at all or have any poker buddies that you can talk to about certain spots. If you aren't reviewing your play afterwards, and getting others' opinions then it will be truly hard to gauge where you are going wrong. Sure you may think that you are learning things from these sites, but it's a whole different story ...

Originally I thought checking or shoving were my only options, however after some thought I really don't think shoving is good at all. I am never going to make him fold hands that have me beat here and I doubt that he will be calling with anything worse than my two pair. With his habitual c/r on rivers, I think my line here is to either check back, (which I ended up doing) or make a weakish steal looking bet and hoping that he just comes over the top--which i think he will do with A LOT of his range, and snapping him off. I think betting like 75, or so into 166, will either get called by ...

Spot against complete whale in live cash
You can learn how not to play AA from this hand. Raises to 8 pre is just asking for trouble. Seen it way too many times AA going to a flop 4/5/6 handed and just getting raped by a wet flop. GG. And nice ship man, Hell it's really really close. A little too high variance of a play for my liking, but it's not bad by any means. To be honest I am surprised this guy tanked so long, maybe you had more fold equity than I thought. weaksauce. Make note of this guys play and look for him at the tables in the future.

Spot against complete whale in live cash
I think jamming very close to +EV but I am not 100% sure on that. Assuming this guy has you covered, your getting ~1.2-1 on a shove, I don't think hes going to fire out 70 then just fold so you probably have very little fold equity IMO. So you need to be winning ~45% of the time you are getting it in. Furthermore, I think you are probably mistaken to be so certain that this dude has an overpair. Why cant he have AKdd, JTs, TT, JJ, 89dd, QKdd' Hell he sucks if he only raised to 8 pre with an overpair if the standard raise have been 7-10x (not saying that him sucking isn't a possibility ...

Sup fellas, it is finals week here at school so I haven't been playing much at all. Not to mention I got shelled the last couple days so it has been a little disheartening. Nevertheless there are a couple hands that grabbed my attention even in the midst of finals chaos and I would like your thoughts. So Villain (Seat 7) in this hand has been involved in a ton of hands, and has been c/r and 3b especially on the river very frequently. More so than a lot of the players at 1/2 so that is something that I had in mind while playing this hand. I also showed him a sick fold I made to him with QQ ...
