** Survivor: One World Official Thread **
I am big time dissappointed that Colton got medivac'd out. I totally want to punch him in the face too, but I didn't want him to go out that way. I would have much rather him get totally blind sided by Christine or Leif or anybody for that matter...preferably with the idol still in his pocket. Now I feel so unsatisfied.

I hope they don't pull a switcheroo. If they don't the guys continue crushing the girls until the merge when it will be like 8 to 4 guys to girls. The guys vote off two more girls, and then the two girls left get picked up by the minority group within the guys, and then things get interesting.

What are you doing with your life (career-wise) and are you happy?
In my 18th year as a teacher myself, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I am teaching the exact classes that I want to teach, and I am the assistant cross-country and assistant track coach, which is also perfect. I will tell you that the first few years teaching can be very stressfull, but it gets better.

Sure if you only test the students who are being educated. Besides he wasn't comparing India's education system to ours, he was comparing India's literacy rate in 1947 to their literacy rate today. The difference being a higher average level of education. He was also pointing out that many African countries do not have public education systems, and thus they have very low literacy rates.

First, could you please explain how eliminating public education, and thus depriving thousands of children of any kind of education whatsoever, will increase literacy rates' Secondly, earlier you alluded that public education was the reason that every industrialized nation on earth has huge financial deficits and are dealing with crappy economies, but now you are saying that every sector of the economy has seen advancements in the last 40 years except education. You are teetering on the edge of contradiction. As for your assertion that education has not seen any advancements in the last 40 ...

[QUOTE=Dyzalot;6688394][QUOTE=coachstove;6688385] Yes, and could you imagine how much worse things would be if literacy rates were lower, and much more of the world was uneducated' There is also a reason that our standard of living is so much higher now than it was prior to publicly provided education.

[QUOTE=Dyzalot;6688183][QUOTE=coachstove;6688117] What of the children that don't get an adequate education under the current system' Is the fact that some children will suffer enough to invalidate the idea' If so isn't government funded education invalidated by the fact that it doesn't produce optimal results or every child' Come on, Dyz, surely you can see that your above statement is a perfect example of "throwing the baby out with the bath water." I have never claimed that our current education system is perfect, nor have I claimed that it produces optimal results for every child. What ...

[QUOTE=Dyzalot;6687289]And I don't oppose parents supplying education to their children, in fact I find it to be one of their primary responsibilities. See, I can use the same justification for not answering the question. I totally agree, but you cannot get around the fact that no matter what, there will be some parents that regardless of what they do they would not be able to afford an adequate education under the system that you are providing. In addition some parents are simply deadbeats (poor or not), and they would not meet this responsibility. What of these children then' Are they just ...

An example of when speech should be limited: Students being disruptive during class. Instructors and administrators have the obligation to initiate consequences to prevent such disruption from taking place, and thus protecting the right of other students to an education. I think this is what a previous poster was referring to when it comes to time and place considerations.

I think Ozzy is doing the right thing by feeding them, just because he is building good will for jury votes. The only downside is that by not feeding them he would weaken them for the challenge, but just imagine if he was going out getting fish and coming back and eating it right in front of them w/o sharing. That would be kind of a dick move, and definitely cost him jury votes i think.

My ravens defense is on bye this week. The best available option is probably the bengals who are playing Jacksonville, however, I have MJD as my RB. So if I play the bengals I am kind of just balancing myself out. The next best option I think is the bills against philly. Suggestions....thanks in advance.

A little help please. I play in a 14 team keeper league (3 protected). I am protecting A. Rodgers, MJD, and Greg Jennings. I have the 7th pick overall, and of the 6 teams in front of me 3 of them only protected 1 RB so they still need one. I expect then at least 3 if not 4 or 5 RB's will be chosen before it gets to me. These are the guys not protected, thus available to draft: P. Hillis, D. Williams, A. Brashaw, J. Best, B. Green-Ellis, R. Mathews, F. Jackson, R. Grant (I already have 2 packers tho), M. Ingram (remember keeper league), M. Lynch, T. Hightower, J. Addai. After 3-5 of these ...

I pretty much agree with this except that I don't totally like the idea of throwing the challenge simply because as long as everyone stays on board they could get rid of Russell after the next challenge that they ligitimately lose. They not only lost the challenge, but the momentum as well. Rob's tribe is feeling pretty good about themselves now, they are a little more comfortable, and now they are only down one tribe member to the other team. If Russell's tribe had won the challenge, then ometepe or whatever Rob's team is called would be pretty down in the dumps. Of course you run the risk ...
