How to play this AJ near the bubble. Hi everyone, I would love to hear some thoughts on how to play this hand. Its the FT of a 45man where top7 gets paid. My thought were something like, if I raise to 1200, I wont be able to fold to a push, so I just pushed. Amount of MTT's played... Hi all, I've been playing for a few years online now and only for fun in the $3-$20 MTT/SnG range. I never win(!) a MTT (I've won 2 in these 2 years). I see that this year I've almost played 50 MTT's and 3rd place is the highest so far. (I understand thats not very many played) Ok here to the kinda question. Someone wrote a few months back that you have to put in some volume to be a winning MTT player. So, what is volume in MTT's played' In august, Sheets posted his record for Stars with almost 500'! MTT's played in just one month. I know that this was prolly more then usual because of the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): UB DOWN As a software developer myself I can't see what type of problems can take weeks to fix. And it really makes me wonder how they test their updates before deployment. Its just too bad I love UB so much I just can't give it up completely. I'm stuck 1 hour into a tourney that just froze up. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Stars vs. UB... some random thoughts Hi, I just have to say something about #2....or no I don't have the guts to say anything about this....................but I think Brsavage said something so maybe I can......but I'm not like him.......... Ok here I go :-) Brsavage wrote something about the accourance of quads lately and I can only say I have seen something happen at UB over the last month. Never seen so many quads, had 3 happen in the first 10 hands at a 10 seated table a few days ago. I would also say that I see more straight flush then ever........ I am also a UB player that went to Stars to try it out, and I agree that ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(8): To all Who are Getting Hacked Hi John, One problem with Windows Firewall is that it doesn't inspect outgoing traffic. I think Norton along with the first mentioned Zone Alarm can do this. This means, that you need to accept a program that wants access to internet before it can go online. This can sometimes be difficult to answer since programs rarly are namned "Hacker Trojan". But I still stress the need for Anti-Virus program, its a must. To the poster above, If he can hack any protected Windows machine, I'm sure he also understand that Linux has tons and tons of security flaws together with all other operating ... Re(4): To all Who are Getting Hacked Hi MU, A while back I was evaluating anti-spyware and we found that one product didnt do the job. Microsofts product is ok but I suggest you also download and install Lavasofts product. This is free and can be found here: / Scan with both and see that MS really wiped everything. /Codden Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): To all Who are Getting Hacked Hi, Just want to make one thing clear. A firewall will stop direct hacking attempts from the Internet. However, today most hackers use trojan-backdoors. For example, you download a really sweet game, you install it and along with the game you get 4 other hidden programs. These programs can do whatever they want. A installed trojan will contact the hacker on the outside and on this connection the hacker can take control over your PC. The traditional firewall will not stop this traffic since its initiated from the "inside". The only thing I know to stop these backdoors are updated anti-virus ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): h0 = great American Let me just say, the guy in H0's article was a jerk. period. I just thought you went a bit far with the shariah and mullahs and so on. Every nation have their jerks. "My point was that those Europeans (and it may well be that you are not one of them -- if not, good on you) that have these stereotypes about Americans are idiots....." Do sound a bit like you stereotype europeans the same way you do not want to be stereotyped. Can we please just get along and agree that there is aholes everywhere' /Codden Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Interesting Question or is it maybe very simple? Quote from Cardplayer and Daniel N. Let’s say you are in the WSOP main event, and on the very first hand dealt, you have A-K offsuit in the big blind. Everyone folds to the small blind, who exposes his cards to you and goes all in with Q-J suited. Would you call' URL to a what I think was a great read Codden Posted in: Poker Discussion |

2nd hour in MTTs Hi everyone and a happy new year :) I've been playing MTTs for a while and now I see a clear problem I can't overcome. I think I play the first hour just fine, often having a stack of 3000-5000 (UB starts with 1500) After the break I go into fold and fold mode. Blinds starts at 100. I often find myself playing very few hands during the 2nd hour but I don't really know why. Ofcourse it ends with either a very low stack or elimination. I just don't know how to change this play, and I don't understand why it happends. I guess its because ppl start to raise alot more and I become extremely ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
