For US Players some thoughts about the regulations I thought the Non-US sites block all IPs from a specific geographic location. How would your system fix that' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What would you ask Phil Hellmuth? If he asks that question, he should wait till the end of the two hours to ask it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

FTP closing?????? I think the US is nervous about prosecuting them. First of all, there isn't a law that explicitly prohibits online poker. So any prosecution would be based on laws that indirectly address the situation. If the US loses in court, it could essentially create a common law and open pandora's box. What would you ask Phil Hellmuth? I'm in an online league with a guy who won a 2 hour poker lesson with Phil Hellmuth in a charity event. He's flying out to Vegas in a couple of weeks to meet him, and he's wanting to know what he should ask - besides the obvious smartass questions like: - Are you high/What are you on' - What was it like when you were one of the best' - Have you tried Prozac' And of course, other questions along those lines. But if you had 2 hours with a guy who has won 11 bracelets, would you focus on tournament strategy questions' If not, what would you want to learn' I'm going to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Other poker sites? Party doesn't offer games in the US either. Prima's good software, but my guess is that most of the forum members here are US residents and can't access that network from the States. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

The reason why party poker and other sites are illegal, over pokerstars and FTP My understanding is that publicly held companies (such as PP, 888, etc) are under strict regulatory oversight in the jurisdictions in which they trade. Conducting business in a jurisdiction that is clearly unfavorable to their activity would have numerous repercussions. They quickly determined that they'd get themselves in multiple jams if they continued to do business in the US. Posted in: Poker Legislation |

New Jersey Online Bill Clears Senate Committee I'm aware of at least one ADW (horseracing) giant that has actively looked into getting into the online poker space. Apparently the demographics of horse bettors & poker players is closely aligned, but poker players are younger. Posted in: Poker Legislation |

Top set in Warm-up facing gross overshove - what to do???? I think he hit the straight. Once I saw my set, I'm prob looking at his stack & betting around 1/2 to 3/4 of it. If he's got AK, I want to make it real expensive for him to see the next card. If he calls, I prob take him off the straight, and put him on a lower set. Either way, I prob won't have to call a crazy shove. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
