Re(3): 6-max sng players out there? In 6 man ICM is not as big as big a factor as 9man.. Why' You will often find yoruself on the bubble with 15-20 BB's and relatively even stacks. What are u going to do' Push, Fold... NO!!! You need to trust your reads and play a little poker. 9 man SNG's you are pushing or folding on the bubble. Reads and poker skill not as important. It's all about ICM. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): 6-max sng players out there? My opinion is that 9 handed play is more about push fold startegy etc (turbos in particular). The dynamics of 6 handed changes a little. You have to open up your play a little more and hence invariably the game allows for a little more post flop play. That is why winning players will find 6 handed easier to play. It is also easier to get reads on people as you see them play more hands. Therefore more "traditional" poker skills are used (not a huge amount, but a little) as oppossed to strict SNG skills. Generally speaking Push/Fold startegy is still very important in 6 handed, just not as ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Weird hand please help. Tough Spot. On the river it costs you 9600 to call and possibly win 30K. If you call and are wrong you still have 70K in chip with 1600 blinds. Smells like a set, QT or bluff. You only have to be right 1 in 3 times to make this play profitable with a call. I would probably call, and hate it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I'm an idiot Amazing how often I read about idiots on the web that think PokerStars is rigged...bla... bla... bla... It's just makes no sense to me. Those that think PokerStars is rigged or that it dishes out more crap than the other sites are just stupid. It's dumb to think that. Your all idiots. And now, I too am and idiot and I don't care. PokerStars sucks!!! I can't win there. FT..yeah okay, not great. UB have had some really good reults where I play 90% of the time. But PS, what are you doing to me. Can't win a coinflip and every buble or HU situation works against me. The greatest beat I have ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Poker tracker- how do you use it??? Firstly, you must make sure you are actaully saving the HH to your hard drive. Once you have established this, open PT..hit file Auto Import (choose your site) Browse (and enter the folder where you are saving hand histories) Force Import Whala!!! Should Work. If you play on UB, you need to download "Ultimate History" from the Poker Tracker website in order to save HH on you computer. If you play in Full Tilt from memory there is an option menu where you choose to save hands to your hard drive automatically. Most sites I believe work like FTP. By the way, once you are up and running, sign ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

MTT Advice and Expected Returns 1. There is much written about ROI in SNG's but what benchmarks can be used to monitor peformance in MTT's. Is there an expectation for ITM percentages, final table percentages,,, maybe a tourney ROI. 2 . I am not a bad MTT player but far from a good one. I generally bomb out of most tourneys with the best hand which I understand is part of the game. In a tourney you can get in as a 80% favourite each time however you are still going to lose 1 in 5 hands. This is happening to me fairly consistantly mid tournament and often leaving me short stacked . My question,,,,, should I play more ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): Joe Hachem Wins the WPT event Joe can definately play. I don't think there's an issue there. The coverage during the 2005 ME portrayed him as a decent nice enough guy. I think winning 7 mil maybe fed the ego a little bit as I look at him at times and think he is a dick too. The Mark Vos thing is a little strange. I watched Mark for the 1st time on TV and he seemed like a decent guy also. However, I have seen some of his posts on Pokernetwork (Aussie Wedsite where believe the whole Hachem/Vos thing began) and the guys likes to stir the pot. I doesn't hold back, he speaks his mind and doesn't care who he offends. I think ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): TOM FRANKLIN IS A DICK!!!!!111!1! I doubt very much that it is Brandi who has written this. Probably some nutcase sitting back having a laugh. If it is Brandi, she is an absolute nutcase and needs help. The story is patchy at best. If it is true, the only concrete step she has taken is to put a post on the internet. This does not make sense. Where is the person (no name mentioned for some reason) that stopped he OD'ing. Wouldn't her friends have her in some sort of counselling, taken her to the police or something. She is so keen to spread the news, that it appears she has barely told any of her friends or family. Why. She ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Attention Moms and Dads My wife and kids have interupted me many times and cost me a tiny sum. My wife too is unhappy about the time I spend playing, however to come to a resolution we simply sat down and worked on a schedule. I look after the kids while she does her thing most evenings for an hour or 2. Then I get an hour or 2 to play poker or do whatever I like (without interuption). I do this maybe 3 nights during the week. Then on the weekned I usually play 4-8 hours however this is mostly when the kids are asleep (or visisting grandparents). However once it is all said and done, I make sure the wife and kids ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How many Royal Flushs in your lifetime Been playing online for 6 months. In the last 6 weeks have had 2 straight flushes and one royal flush. The only one that got me action though was my first straight flush where someone else made and ace high flush in an sng. I actually dealt a straight flush in a free tourney in Sydney about 5 months. I was short stacked and raised all in with A6 (OTB obvioulsy), SB had AK of hearts reraised all in, and BB called with KK. Flop came 10,J,Q all hearts. River and turn were KK meaning four kings lost. Shame there was no money invloved. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): When do you move up a level? If you are nervous about going up a level then don't.... You don't need to go from 3's to 6's or from 100's to 200's etc.... You can mix up the levels and slowly increase the amount you play at the larger buy ins. In your case play $4 SNG' or $5 and slowly make your way up. What I mean is this. If you play 200 $3 SNG's a month, try playing 140 $3 SNG's and 60 $6 SNG's a month. This gives you an average cost of 3.90 per SNG. When playing a $6 SNG, in the big picture it is only worth $3.90 to you. Try to look at it this way and you won't get so nervous. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): The mistakes Low-Limit SNG players are making the most! Thank you Jennifear. Great Post. I was particularly intersted in your point about not playing tight early on in low limits. I have opened up my game early on with some reasonably good success. I have found that many $5.00 SNG players early on do not know how to handle aggression (just like me when I started out). What I am experimenting with is to play more pots early. Where I hit my hand I overbet the pot as often as possible (on loose tables in particular). Occasionally I get called with marginal hands and clean up. Generally people will fold and I win a small pot. Granted I cost myself ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Should I call here - 5 handed in a $5 SNG – (6 seat) - Blinds 25/50 - Average Stack – 1800 - My stack – 1400 - Raise to 180 in middle position with AQo. - 2 callers - Flop comes AcJh7c - 1st player checks and I put in a pot sized bet (475). - Player behind me puts me all in and the other player folds. The story so far is that I have already laid down AJ with an A on the flop to a reraise I’m concerned the table thinks they can walk all over me. Furthermore, the player that put me all in has 2500 in chips after going all in on previous had with Q2 to a QJT board and being called by J8. This player is ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Multitabling Discussion Could I have some advice on Multitabling. My understanding of multitabling is that the nature of your game becomes more mechanical as it is difficult to read players or get the feel of several tables at once. Hence your ROI decreases, however by playing several table at once, your per hour return is much greater. Assuming this is correct, would the biggest step in multitabling be to move from 2 to 3 tables. I am in the process of making this move. Playing 2 tables, I was still able to make plays often as I was able to get the feel for each table. Playing 3 tables however, it is much harder ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
