Re:The Well: Mig.com
Does your stable of horses know who is in the stable with them' Is it common knowledge in the backing world which players are backed and by whom' Do you think there is an appearance of impropriety when a backer and one or more of his horses are at the same table or in the same tounament' Do you think these relationships should be disclosed to all or that it's simply a personal private matter' Do you think being privy to this information creates an unfair advantage and assists in modifying table strategy' If not, than why not disclose'

What happened to sectioning the the forums?
Some time back there was a thread about having different discussion forums based on MTT buyin amts. It would make navigating the site easier for players interested in specific topics and probably attract more ranked players to share their thoughts.

The Seminole Hard Rock is having a 2 day $1100 tournament this weekend. Friday and Saturday are days 1A and 1B and the final day is Sunday. Details are on their website. They've been running satellites so it should be a big field.

Re:CEREUS
Annie or Shawn, With all the queries this thread has raised, the only question you choose to answer is who gets to keep their screen name. Is this for real' How about delving into some substantive issues' You obviously have enough information that allows you to have confidence in the "new regime", how about sharing it with us' I assume you don't believe players should blindly place their money on UB without a full disclosure of what has occured, who was involved and what has been done about it do you' Screen names are nice, but how about some answers to real questions' Do you ...

Re:CEREUS
Annie, Your statement attempts express your loyalty to this "new management" and how difficult a decision this has been for you, however, it doesn't mention your finanacial interest in the company and what you stand to gain personally if UB is able to turn this fiasco around. No offense, but you have diminished credibility when you have such an obvious bias. Yes it would be easier for you to walk away, but the financial repercussions are obvious. It's most frustrating when you paint yourself out to be some kind of martyr in this whole mess. Where were you last week when ...

No only 20% which goes to a charity. It's on their website. For the time being it's the only way they're allowed to have high buy-in tournies.

Re:Bax a UB Pro??
This just smells and feels like "everyone has a price". Why would Bax allow this site to gain any credibility by using his good name' What has happened on UB and the way it has been handled is deplorable. There are some things that cause irreparable damage and if true, cheating followed by a cover up on a poker site is one of them. Would you ever take your girlfriend or wife back after she commits several acts of infidelity and then does everything to cover her tracks and you still catch her' Could you ever trust her again' Would you ever play on a poker site that has had problems ...

Re:Ft. Lauderdale Hard Rock $3000 buy in
I would assume there must be since they have them for their $1100 big slick tournament, but I would confirm that by calling the Hard Rock and asking for a manager in the poker room.

Re:Ft. Lauderdale Hard Rock $3000 buy in
Your right, but when I played there a couple of weeks ago they were handing out flyers about the 3k buy in. They're calling it a charity event in order to raise the buy in amt. I guess it's best to call the poker room there and ask what's going on.

Re:*PETITION* high stakes MTT forum for P5's
It is quite apparent that the quality of the discussion content has been on a steady decline. A stand up guy like Waco has to suck it up and be prepared to bombarded with hate every time he considers contributing. I, for one, am sure that I stand to gain a lot more from his posts than most of the other stuff that goes on here. I'm not sure why he even bothers as it's clear that some of the other top players don't, and I can't blame them. What's wrong with an intelligent dialogue w/o the need to rip each other. Since the quality of play and thus strategy differs based on ...

Re:sheets' horses?
I totally disagree. There is reason to know. Backing players is the dirty little secret that has infiltrated the poker world. There is certainly the appearance of impropriety when players with financial interests in each other are at the same table. At least when players are related to each other ie. Annie Duke and Lederer or the Brunsons it's above board and their play is there for everyone to see. When backing is kept secret then people are left to speculate. Someone having a financial interest in you can certainly effect someone's play especially when it's kept on the hush ...

Re(5): Petition to have Pokerstars have 2 WCOOPS a year:
CardX, Get serious. Comparing the WCOOP to the WSOP is like comparing my intramural basketball team to the NBA championship. We don't play it for the "prestige" of winning the bracelet, we play for the money and the fun of it. If the rank and file players want to play high buy in tournies then why not give to them. Everyone enjoys the competition. It won't "dilute" the value of the bracelet. No one is going to have bigger bragging rights because they won a WCOOP bracelet when it was held only once a year. As long as there's demand it should be held multiple times a year.

Re(1): An Open Letter to the Community and Beyond on Integrity in Poker.
It's encouraging to see the positive feedback and general acceptance of the OP's thread, but let's use this as a catalyst to create change. Lots of good thoughts without action are useless. If we act as a community maybe we can effect change for the better. Obviously everyone benefits, including the poker sites, if there is a fair game for all. Why don't we try to make a list of well thought out suggestions and ideas and send it to all the major sites and see how they respond' By ramping up their involvement will accelerate a solution much the way Congress's involvement in the baseball ...

Re(1): An Open Letter to the Community and Beyond on Integrity in Poker.
Dani you are mature well beyond your years. It is extremely irritating to constantly read posts that condone unethical behavior. It's one thing to be sympathic to a mistake in judgement, it's another to try to rationalize and justify intentional bad acts. Why is this so hard to understand' The simple answer, it isn't. The people who don't get it, don't want to get it so they can continue to look at themselves in the mirror. This is not a gray area that needs much persuasive debate. Cheating is wrong and harms us all as well as the future of poker. Much like Supreme Court Justice Warren said ...
