Pros and Cons of the remaining U.S. Sites Also to those saying "well, why didn't they go after everyone", etc. as a reason to have full faith in the fact that the sites won't get taken down...I mean, the DOJ is clearly going to go for the biggest fish in the sea to start. They're gonna try to get Capone before they go after disorganized hoodlums. You're also forgetting that the DOJ has: 1: A legal framework to use. In other words, yes it may have taken them years to build cases against other sites, but now that they have built said cases it's not like they're going to have to start from scratch with other sites. 2: An enormous ... What you remember about online poker Favorite Online Poker Memory: Registering for the Party nightly $109 with a few hundred dollar bankroll and shipping it for $10K+ back in '04. Gboro mentioning laps around his house made me laugh cuz I def was doing laps around the house after the win. Least Favorite Online Poker memory: Playing uber wasted 25/50 and losing $45Kish in a single night. All time favorite MTT: Prob the Stars $100r just because the first time I won it I felt so cool/elite/gangsta. Also everyone was super aggro so action late was never boring. Has anyone been able to explain why UB/AP is still truckin along? Cross-posted from 2+2: MYTH: The AP indictments against Scott Tom and Brent Beckely are based upon their involvement in the site prior to the AP/UB sale to Blanca Games. These cheaters are not longer involved with UB, so you can trust the new ownership like Joe Sebok has been saying. FACT: The indictment removed all doubt that the old AP cheaters still run new UB. Brent Beckley, for example, was found to have been managing the deposits and cash outs for AP/UB as recently as March, 2011. I'll get a link to the thread shortly. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Has anyone been able to explain why UB/AP is still truckin along? I feel ya playa. I've been doing this for 6 years now and I have a wife and 3 kids depending on me. Everyone's tense. I too have checks on the way I may or may not end up wiping my ass with. Here's to regulated US online poker. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Has anyone been able to explain why UB/AP is still truckin along? You don't need to explain the situation to me and how this is affecting poker players. I fail to see how anyone would need to keep up with the forum on an hourly or minute to minute basis to know what's going on. Pretty much every thread about the topic is cluttered with posts such as the one I quoted and it's annoying to those of us who are actually trying to get any new information which may come available. hockey bore the brunt of my building frustration over these posts that began Friday and have seemed non-stop since. That probably wasn't fair to him and I apologize to him for that, ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Has anyone been able to explain why UB/AP is still truckin along? So over the "should I play'!'!'" posts on here and 2+. Knock yourself out ffs. You can't cashout/transfer ATM. That's really all there is to it. No one is going to post super secret information no one else has. If you're just looking for someone to give you the go ahead to play, here it is. GL. And on this same note I'll go ahead and multi-rant about the "just cashed out, processing now" breaking news updates too. No one can cashout from the US and your request will be declined. Shut the fuck up. Posted in: Poker Sites |

What poker sites are still up and working and accepting US players and deposits? Heh, yeah I would def assume if it's tracking then the HUD will work. Closing and restarting HEM usually works for me when the HUD won't come up. FYI for those of you jumping on Merge, I IMed a friend of mine yesterday who is an affiliate with Merge and was trying to get me to sign up with them before this all happened and I asked him if Merge was going to be sticking around for US players and his response was, "Get your money out now imo." Not trying to scare anyone, but the fact that someone who stands to gain from me putting money on the site didn't even answer that as a "yes" or "no" ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

live casino 1-2nl hand Well OK, if we're using that definition then everyone is a thinking player, which I guess is true at face value, regardless if their thought process is terrible or not. What you're saying in so many words is a guy who limp/calls A8o UTG because "if the flop comes A8x I'm going to get paid off" is a thinking player. I also don't see how anyone could be defined as anything other than dumb aggressive when they play a hand like this. Dumb aggressive basically means just clicking buttons/throwing money in the middle w/out any sort of plan, no' That's what happened here. I'd have to do the exact ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Sick Life Decision...WWYD? This is going to sound harsh, but I think you prob need to hear it. One day you will look back on this thread and want to hi-five for my advice and I will consider it. Look, I'm not going to lie. Poker is a really, really cool job. Everytime I think about my life I'm very happy where I'm at (for the most part obv). But let's be real. You have no fucking clue what you're doing. I have no idea how good or bad you are at actually playing cards, but I would say that probably 80% of what goes into being a (good) pro isn't really about C/R'ing for thin value or double float bluff raising rivers or ... AA Live Cash Game I don't think berating means what you think it means. As for OP, sounds like they both had pretty much the only hands that you beat here that make sense given action. Def sucks, but I think you played the hand perfectly. 3Bing flop is with the sole intention of trying to get in, which given descriptions of players and action is total spew. 3B folding is even worse. But hey, if you're 75-80% sure...then by all means. FWIW, I'm way more concerned about player 3's range than player 2's and you should be too. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

AA Live Cash Game This thread is a disaster, no offense. No one has any clue how much is in the pot, what the action was PRF, whether this is between 3 players that are UTG, UTG+1 and MP or between players on the button, SB and BB, and no one knows anything about the villains in the hand, but somehow "flatting>folding>raise/folding>raise/calling(the $1100). Player 2 is very unlikely to barrel the turn with less than two pair with the shorty immediately behind" O RLY' Meh, I know I'm being an asshole and I know you're just trying to help out and I'm sorry for calling you out like this, but blech dude. Trying not to suck at poker, why am I so bad at this? Oh, from your thread title/post it sounded like you were a losing recreational player who just now decided to get serious after getting sick of losing all the time. If I'm reading that right it looks like ur ROI is 31%' Seems like a reasonably solid number to me. So if you know a fair bit about the game just try to think of spots where you think you struggle or never really know what to do and try to get better at them. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Trying not to suck at poker, why am I so bad at this? Couple things: First, spend some time building a base of knowledge. In other words, search around for books, articles, posts from players you know are good players, etc. and try to absorb the information as much as possible. Reviewing hand histories or buying HEM to analyze numbers would be like me staring at advanced Calculus for hours on end. It really doesn't matter how much I stare at it or analyze it, I don't know shit about Calculus, so I'm really just wasting my time. Would you let a middle schooler review your tax return' Honestly, it doesn't really matter how much you sit and stare ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Is anyone going to talk about Jason Senti's hand? I dunno, random donk opens pre, bets flop, ships turn w/out much thought on FT bubble of the ME (I dont remember what amounts were for any street tho). I prob wouldn't have thought he was bluffing much either and there's basically 1 maaayyyyyybe 2 value hands in his entire range you beat. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Matt Affleck - Give the man credit Oh and just to add, I felt physically ill for Matt after watching the river come off and knowing exactly (well, never been deep in the ME with a shot at a huge CL, but u know what I mean.) how that feels. Matt, if u read this, u played extremely well. I know that's not really a consolation prize for potentially losing millions upon millions of dollars, but unfortunately a compliment from a random guy on the internet you've never met is all I got. :( Posted in: Poker Discussion |
