Re:Biggest benefits of increased Stars status?
I take down about 125 VPPs/hr 8-tabling $2/4 Stud. These are pretty agg games and you earn more pts because its only 8-handed (vs 10-handed LHE) and you get an extra bet in because of 7th Street (bigger avg pot = more rake for PS.) A great site to check out is: / If you wanna 20-table 2/4-5/10 LHE you can probably get it down in less hours, and IMHO you'll go nuts. How much is your sanity worth'''

Re:Biggest benefits of increased Stars status?
If you're playing just to reach a certain VIP level, I'll assume you play some of the lower limits ($2/4-5/10 limit, up to NL200) in which case you would need to play about 85-100 hours a month just for Supernova. Supernova (playing a little extra to eclipse 250k FPPs) will earn you $6000 worth of bonuses, which only breaks down to about $5.50ish/hr for your play. Since their rewards system is so top-heavy, SN Elite is where its at; obviously. Over $130,000 in cash bonuses and trip packages, you gotta spend about $181,819 in tourney fees (the equivalent of 1,011 Sunday Million ...

Re:supernova on stars
When you play at that level, you're going for Supernova Elite. You could blow $80k a year cash and still break even from the VIP bonuses. You also go to the PCA and Monte Carlo free.

My bad, he's absolutely right. I was looking at the wrong level in the lobby. DEF do the 10k points, getting 3+ tokens shouldn't be a problem for any Iron Man! Sorry for the mixup.

Re:fastest way to collect 1500 vpp's?
If you classify SNGs as a 'tnry', you can multi-table $35+3 or $30+3s. Just play 100 to get exactly 1500 VPPs, which you can do 20/day for 5 days (obv). Either that or 60 $55+5/$50+5 SNGs (12/day for 5 days) As far as cash, I don't think there is an exact way to figure that out. Hopefully someone else can give you a ballpark on that.

Re(2): Omaha Preflop Question
im not that big an omaha guy, but i gotta agree here. low pairs like that can be a stack killer if they dont hit (especially when committing more $$ preflop) and sometimes more if you do hit. when you hit a low set you could easily be a dog against someone with a higher set, straight, flush/straight draw or dare i say, someone with quads

Re(1): ICM ? Risk entire stack any time you are > 55%?
if youre a good enough player to the point of adding ICM to your play, would you want to get your chips in every time at 55% when you can easily outplay a lesser opponent over time' save your chips for any slightly higher edge like 60% or more. if you have the bankroll to handle any swings, go for it but I could see something like this becoming a little frustrating to a serious player. It always seemed to be the hands that hurt my confidence were the ones where I had the advantage in a "race"

Re(2): FTOPS Satellite Policy. Beware
Since I won the seat on the 19th of July, and the event is August 10th (22 days later,) things come up in that time. They act like I'm trying to pull one over of them, take the money and leave. Their rep said "Once money is placed into the tournament prize pool, it cannot be removed." If Full Tilt has so little control over their own system, why the hell should I play on the site' I'll probably just take everything over to Stars and start working on those WCOOP Sats.

FTOPS Satellite Policy. Beware
Not sure if this was discussed but I wanted to give everyone a heads up just incase. I won a sat to the FTOPS PLHE event, and just found out I wont be able to play that night. I emailed support and they won't allow me to unregister and enter a different event of an equal buy-in on a night I can actually play. This is a killer policy, so beware. Now I have a $216 seat that will just blind away. Their answer was "We apologize for the inconvenience Brian, and wish you the best of luck in the tournament." I'll need a ton of it... Stars' policy for the WCOOPs is much better, as they let you ...

Re(2): Most value out of flopped quads
I called the $12 bet but couldn't get anything more out of him. I looked at it as maybe he was raising with a flush draw which could also have turned into a straight draw with the queen ( hopefully but maybe ) I wanted him to hit whatever it was but unfortunately a came on the river. As I called down this whole time, I put in an $18 bet on that river 7 hoping he might see a steal as if I was the one with a busted draw but he folded. Of course with all of this, he could have had a silly hand like 44 and everything looked horrible. He was 8-tabling so who even knows if he was paying attention, ...

Most value out of flopped quads
First time flopping quads so I was caught a little in what to do. I was playing $1-2NL at a full table on Stars. I was dealt in the BB. UTG limped in and "Player A" (no reads yet, all I know is that he is 8-tabling $1-2NL) in mid-position makes a weak raise to $6. Both myself and limper call. Flop comes . I check, Limper checks and Player A bets out $8. I elect to call hoping limper joins but he folds. turns, i check and he bets $12. And at this point I wasn't sure what to do for the most value. So I guess lets take it from here... I'll post what I did after a few responses

Re(2): MGM Grand is a joke - don't stay there
very true here. once you show some action on your players card (always use it) the casinos will offer you anything to stay there and/or come back. i played $10 blackjack at one hotel for 45min and ive since received offer after offer to stay for a weekend, free tickets to things, free tourneys etc. they realize that most people have to go out of their way to get to Vegas (flight or 3-8 hour drive) and NEED you to come back. try and get to know a casino host at one place. if they see your face enough they'll hook you up.

Live play in AC Discussion
Alright, for those who frequent Atlantic City, where do you feel is the best place to play and more importantly, why do you feel this' I usually hit the Borgata because you can always get a game, however i tend to run into better players there and dont get paid off as much on bigger hands. With such a big room however, the better players are diluted into the large crowd. When i play at Harrah's, Taj, or Ballys even, I end up sitting at one of two active $1-2 tables and every dealer knows half the players by name. Of course that doesn't make them good players, it just means they play at the ...

Re(4): Recent Hand from $1/$2 live
What you have to take into account is that he was playing a "donk." Showing strength on the flop is gonna scare him away, if not there then on the turn. If you let him make the initial bets and let him feel like hes controlling the action, he will bet all the way to the river. At this point you pop him and hope he feels like he is committed to the pot (which he was with the second nut flush.)
