Re:Dave Colclough red pro...?! Dave Colclough is a very talented player who has done a lot for the Poker Community. He is one of the best Omaha players in the world as well as being European player of the year at least on one occasion. The massive increase in NLHE events and players has meant that the pros on the circuit now have to contend with a rising amount of NLHE specialists and luck boxes who may run good in one tournament. Go into an Omaha event against DC and you will be railing a lot earlier than him. Poker is an international game - just look at Moorman, Gregoir , JayPez etc all from the UK who are rising up ... Re(2): Grapesfan's article I understand and hear where you are coming from. I like pocketfives and have been a part of the community for a while. In recent months I haven't been posting as much here due to the undertone of some of the posts. I thought it might have been a cultural thing due to the predominant American membership but then realised it is a more attitudinal herd mentality thing with some of the members. Learning humility and helping others is good. The sense of being part of a group is also good. Some of the railing and posts I have seen have been very OTT and all it does is turn off other members. Re(3): Pray you are lucky enough!! lol - you guys would have done the same. I only had 32k left behind with the SB to follow - I was already in for half my stack. In a coin flip against one other caller heads up figured he had AK AQ or something like that - do I call for tournament life here or get blinded out. Won the race with a pair of sixes. Sure it looked like a shite call but hey it was a coin flip and i got a seat for $3. ps got to 256th in stars last week and have taken down Party $750k guaranteed for $106k last year so on Sunday when you push with AK against me and fold equity is too high I will push with any ... Re(2): Manchester wins supercasino license for Vegas Style casino It has certainly improved since hosting the Commonwealth Games back in 2002. Both the football (soccer) teams have big stadiums and the new casino is rumoured to be located near the Eastlands site near where Man City play. Liverpool is probably trendier than Manchester but it certainly has a good feel to it now. Hopefully the Casino operator builds it with character allowing for a sizeable card room. Will update once I get more info. crosscourtbh Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): Manchester wins supercasino license for Vegas Style casino Exactly my thoughts. Blackpool would have been great to redevelop like what Vegas has grown to now. The UK has missed a chance to regenerate a dying region. London, Manchester and other lareg cities already have a lot to offer - Blackpool needed this to regenerate... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Manchester wins supercasino license for Vegas Style casino Will make it interesting - odds are that London will get the second one. I was hoping Blackpool would have got it as it needs major regeneration. Probably the lack of transportation connections killed off that idea - so the final decline of Blackpool looks imminent. If London got it there would have been machine guns out for Prescott and Blair - heat they dont need at the moment. crosscourtbh Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Manchester wins supercasino license for Vegas Style casino News...just announced Manchester has hit the jackpot by winning the licence to build Britain's first Las Vegas-style supercasino. The city fought off competition from six other contenders, including Glasgow and London, to scoop the licence. Newcastle, Cardiff, Sheffield and Blackpool were also in the running. The Government says the supercasino will boost regeneration, but opponents say it will result in more people developing gambling problems. Lets hope they build a really big card room. Looks like my late night entertainment is set once its built. crosscourtbh Posted in: Poker Discussion |

UK take lead on liberalising Poker and Gaming...Article Thought this would be of interest to show how the UK and the US are poles apart when it comes to controlling legislation relating to Poker and Gambling as a whole... Article taken from MSN UK. When it comes to betting, the British government is taking a giant gamble. By continuing to liberalise UK gaming laws while other countries tighten up, it is betting that the economic boost of encouraging betting here will outweigh the damage caused to problem gamblers and their families. It’s a big wager, perhaps one appropriate for the country’s first supercasino whose location is due to be ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Why wasn't this ever done? Also a question that anyone that has much $ online might want to know. I really hope the US sorts out this situation at the next changing of the President. A Neteller with interest type scenario is definitely a good idea. Hope everything falls into place soon as every week there is a change on the depositing side at each of the sites for you American players. Maybe I should set up some kind of Escrow business for all you American players and act as some sort of middle man into the poker rooms. As I am based in the UK I could flow money around to different sites once your options get totally resticted if that does happen. Will put some thought to it but could be ... Re(5): The Article on GOBBOBOY.. Well done Gobbo. I kept watch of the chip counts during the tournament. Your point about softer play live is a valid one from what I have seen so far in my half dozen live tournaments. Online players definitely play a lot more hands and I agree that live reads are overatted compared to playing position, controlling pot sizes, and knowing when to get out when beaten. You certainly didnt come across as arrogant just confident. My advise is put half of your money away into something not poker related then keep doing what you are doing. I wish I had started playing poker when I was 19. Good luck ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Scammers working players at Full Tilt Poker Thought I would post this as in my tired state last night I got momentarily caught out on this scam. The note below popped up whilst on the break in the tourney... ======================================== Dealer: FullTilt Poker giveaway $50,000. The first two players from this table who visit the website / will be awarded with $25,000 . Admin : Chris Ferguson The website itself is quite realistic but on closer inspection there are typos and poor grammar. Anyway I $%&$ed up and told full tilt about the scam. Re(1): Being addicted to poker is not too bad. Anything in moderation is ok. You can definitely play poker way too much. I certainly went through a couple of spells after a big win where I thought I was unbeatable and probably chucked 30% of my bankroll away playing too many tables at a time when I wasnt ready for it. Poker is definitely better than horse betting or sports betting particularly if you are a moderate to good player. Take it from me pick up on the signs when you are playing too much. Your family friends and job arent worth poker unless you can afford to go pro. crosscourtbh Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): a poker blog you should all read Its amazing how so many guys make money then blow it. Bankroll management is key. After my biggest win of $106k I pumped most of it into the house and gave my wife a hefty amount. Since that win I havent won anything near as high as that until what I mentioned in the live win last weekend. I now have a $25k bankroll which I will keep for tournaments but will always try and win satellites etc than buy directly in. I steer clear of cash games as it is scary how much people swing. At Bolton there were £3k+ pots flying everywhere in the side action and you could see many young guys trying to mix ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Joe Hachem..what a joke Cash This was just a bit of banter and I was educating some of those out there who arent aware of the Aussie Kiwi rivalry in most sports. I do detect that Tony G is looking at changing his public image and putting a lot back into the growth of poker across Europe and Asia. Your points about Matusow and Hellmuth are very valid - my point about Hachem is that his is table manner against the predominantly amateur fields online is not generally friendly and he takes his beats very badly - everyone will get them its just that some moan loader than others instead of being gracious.
