Re:My thoughts on No Limit Tournament Poker, and those who play it professionally I strongly disagree that cash is more relaxing. I have experience with both forms of poker and I think they both can be mentally challenging. It is just a matter of how you handle the stress. It is very tough to be relaxed when you are going through a bad downswing. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): 1K Final table hand on FT If I raise in that spot with a weak ace, I am definetly going with it if I hit the flop like that. I dont think he leads out the flop very often with an A. I would say he most likely has a weaker 1pair hand or one of the infinite number of draws for this board. If you think he will spew off his stack with a worse hand then I would just call here inducing the bluff. I dont remember what odds he was getting to call if you shove but he may make a mistake and fold in a favorable position with a draw. I think you are ahead here +80% of the time, how you play it from here depends on the opponent Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): 1k, tough hand Im not saying I played this hand well at all, although the way I played it did get max value on it and got to the river only having to dodge 7 outs. My intention was to play this hand to showdown if at all possible without having to commit all my chips against BE. the part of the hand that really threw me was the initial raiser shoving. looking back on it I should have been able to make this call much easier than I did, but at the time I didn't even know if the call was a good one after I saw his hand, hence the post. Re(3): 1k, tough hand my reasoning for not raising BE on the flop was 1) I think KJ is well within his range here 2) we have played quite a bit together and I think he is going to percieve a raise as not necessarily super stong, probably a draw, and maybe shove a hand I have beat. this would leave me in a situation where I really wouldn't know were I was in the hand at all even if he does come over the top. thanks for all the responses edit: I also could not try to squeeze BE on the flop bc I was inbetween him and the initial raiser. and not that I think I am a top player at all but fwi for the guy who was ... Re(2): 1k, tough hand The more I think about it the more I think it is a pretty clear call MSH. I think you do have to put Q10 and KJ in his range however since it was the first level. Alot of ppl are raising wide ranges to try to hit a big flop and bust someone. I really didn't think he had 10 10 bc I think most players are going to lead out or checkraise the flop with a set. I think you were right about me being beat a small percentage of the time, but I think it is Q10 much more often than 10 10 Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(5): 1k, tough hand alright......I played this hand so slow bc I was scared of BE having KJ so I was just going to check call down. Once I called the turn he instashoved and it completely threw me off. I ended up calling thinking he had AQ, KQ, or KJ. He did have AQ and rivered a 10 to win the pot, but thats not why I posted. I just really didn't know for sure if a call was the right move at this point in the tourney so I was looking for advice. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Interesting hand from 1k If Kwob was doing this frequently I would obv give him a wide range and with that I think I would flat call thinking I will also get Kwob to call. I think reraising an EP limp and raise is too recless. edit: excellent spelling by me Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): sick situation in the 200r thanks for the replies guys. after the hand I was very pissed at myself bc I made the call, he had A9 and he held. I still could not decide if the call was even marginally good so I was looking for advice. I have started to just fold my button the majority of the time bc it is everyones fav. play to just shove the button raise with ne thing and you end up gambling way too often. after I posted the hand I saw Sowerss make this play which makes me think I acurately assessed the situation. After Belows post I think I like the idea of limping my button here. This will frequently free the blinds ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

sick situation in the 200r This hand was right after the bubble had broken in the 200rebuy. Sowerss is an insanely aggro player, for this reason I do not think this is an easy fold but I am wondering what you guys think. The sick thing about this hand is that I was sure he was shoving me before I had even entered in the raise. So with that said my question is 1) do you even raise pre 2)if you do as I did, do you consider calling'' PokerStars Game #11334695145: Tournament #56614784, $200+$15 Hold'em No Limit - Level XIV (1000/2000) - 2007/08/06 - 00:44:20 (ET) Table '56614784 42' 9-max Seat #1 is the button Seat 1: ... Re(5): Familiar with Mattg1983? I really dont think this is a good play. I think Matts range is way too wide to be folding. Just bc he is TAG doesn't mean KK is no good here. I think a call is probably the best option, I haven't played much with Matt but if he is that tight he will most likely check behind with the one pair hands that are in his range. I agree that this is a tough spot, but I dont agree with folding Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): 1st level of the stars 1k...what now??? Especially with Belows style, I am calling bc I think this guy stacks off to a club turn. I am pretty sure a call is correct against an assumed Sat. player, the only bad part about this play is you put yourself if a terrible position if and A falls. I think a shove here is bad bc there is no way this guy folds KQ and probably not even QJ. very interested in the result of this hand. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

I played with him last night in the 1k and actually had to tighten up bc I got the impression he was going to call a raise with almost any2, he had a very big stack at the time. it did seem that once he was closer to avg. he stopped playing so many pots but imo he is not a nit Posted in: Poker Discussion |
