Re:invest Glad we were able to clarify that the average american investor should not put their entire portfolio in the currency market. Your currency strategy could very well "average" those returns but with average variance significantly higher than equities, which is the primary reason they are not a great fit for more than a small portion of the avg investor's portfolio. Your initial stance seemed to advocate that people find a currency broker and give them 100% of their cash and rake in their instant returns. Re:invest LOL.... If you can grind out a consistent 15-20 % a year you won't be dealing with retail investors. If it sounds to be good to be true it is. 8-10% long term return is a realistic expectation for a solid diversified portfolio. A portfolio composed solely on currencies is gambling not a long term investment strategy. I know there are some talented traders out there that might be able to achieve these annual returns consistently... but they arent building 100K portfolios (or $3 million portfolios for that matter) for the american public.... they are institutional traders on wall street ... Re:invest The pros didnt lose u the money.... the markets did. If you have a long term time frame (10+ years) this is just a blip on the radar screen. Volatile periods in the market is when you need the pros most. Not necessarily to pick the individual investments but to keep the american public from moving to cash (the worse performing asset class of the last 30 years) and "waiting till things turn around". By the time that most ppl get their money back in they have missed most of the bounce back. Most american investors average 3-4% return in mutual funds due to their inability to ... Re:DSL versus cable I had att's DSL and recently switched to time warner cable. Cable much more reliable IMO. Haven't dropped one connection in 3 months daily use. My DSL would drop daily while plugged in via Ethernet cable, wifi sucked. Cable ftw Posted in: Poker Discussion |
