sctrojans I really think you are off here. 3bet calling JJ here is def +EV here simply because if sorel is only 4betting QQ+, AK than he is folding a really high % of his range, meaning that we pick up a 2800 chip pot a lot. The rest of the time he has the goods we still have 36% equity. Also from what i have seen sorels range is not simply QQ+, AK, it could also include random hands that he shoves off a read, proabbaly doesnt happen often but it is my understanding that it does happen(maybe im wrong here tho.) dont know how jordan plays but see hand below. Obv a diff situation cause the raise and call werent EP but still. I think flat calling here is super super weak and is going to get you bluffed and semi bluffed off the best hand alot. Plus 3betting and calling a shove is def+EV because of how wide zang opens, and the amount in the pot relative to roothlus's stack

I would have popped that up preflop to try to isolate the limper, unless the tble was maniacly loose. But this looks like a fold cause your so deep. He can have a set or a big wrap here and he probably doesnt raise with an overpair, or bottom two

yeah this is a standard fold without any info on what kind of player this guy is. that said, in my experience in these big buy in plo mtts there are a lot of bad players that have no clue, so sometimes they will show up with an overpair or top two here or something.

I think part of being a poker player is always assessing what ur edge is in a game. in cash games you will have stats on players and can identify fish, and sit to their left. In tournaments I think you have to dom the same sort of thing. why play the 200r when the field is so tough. Same with the 100r. Play more 100 dollar freezeouts, 50 dollar feezeouts as these are loaded with bad players. Play more of the 20r, 30r, etcas these have lots of really bad players too. And obviously all the big sunday freezeouts have great value

the most important part of this hand was that PA and ivey had a huge prop bet in which in order for ivey to win $$ he could not showdown an ace. So knowing this PA could eliminate a huge part of his range, unfortuantely he got out leveled and ivey had the one possible hand

This deep I would never limp the button, because the deeper you are the more position comes into play where you can hammer on weak hands and opponents. His call is extremely spewy imo, against all but the very worst players.
