Official Bankroll Management Thread Hey guys, wasn't sure where to put this but I'm looking for some serious advice. I've been playing for a few years now, did ok on stars.. and was just getting really into building a BR when BF hit. So I started on Carbon, and was running horrible for a long time. Finally just gave up for a while, and then one day deposited $30. Won like $140, then the next day got 2nd in an $11 for like $900. That was actually my biggest score ever. I went up and down for a while, cancelling my withdrawl like a degen and playing again. Originally cashed out $800.. had that down to like $200 from just playing ... just a question regards trapping with AA/KK when short stacked. What about position. Say your in the HJ or something, the shove will look suspect. From EP people will think you're strong and fold most of the time, and if you limp and there is a good chance someone will raise it can be a better move. Just thinking. Cooler or did I screw up?? Was chip leader with like 7 left in a $33 turbo. I'm at 220k and SB was at 148k. Blinds were 3k/6k. I raise on the button with Q6o to 14k. SB calls. Flop comes A-Q-6 Rainbow. SB checks. I bet 16200. SB Raises to 42600. I make a committing 4 bet.. and he insta shoves for a few more chips. I think he can raise my continuation bet light, because he thinks my button opening range is really wide. But I'm thinking I should have just called the Re raise on the flop to see the turn. Looking to be backed on carbon I took a break from poker after BF, but have been playing a lot lately. I'm looking to play any $20+ MTT's, turbo or non-turbo. My recent placings include 11th in the Sunday 150k G, where I busted KK < 88. I've FT'd a few other tournament's over the past couple months, and feel that I am playing my best ever. I'm open to negotiations. I really don't have the cushion to continue to play tournaments like the sunday 150k, so I'm looking for someone that would be interested in staking me in a few tournaments a week. Is this shove the right play? Was on the button with A9s, with 3 left in a $33 1 rebuy/addon. Blinds were 7500/15000. My stack was around 320-330k, and SB was around double that. BB was the short stack with less than 10 BB's. So I had a little over 20 BB's.. and am thinking a min raise would have been the better play. The SB had shoved on me earlier when I min raised with J8.. so I'm probably calling a shove in this spot anyways but I just wanted to get an opinion. Stupid Shove? Was playing a $12 rebuy at a small casino, with electronic tables. Had a 2k stack and just got to a new table. Blinds 100/200. Folds to Hijack and he raises to 700. I'm in the BB with KQs. I shove. This guy was trying to tell me it was the worst play, and he didn't know why I did that. The only thing is the raise was super big, and the guy was pretty old. $110 Tues/Thurs Tournament at Hammond Horseshoe 108. Prize Pool was $8,800 Thanks a lot, this advice is what I'm looking for. I think I had around 15 BB's when I had AA. It was really the only hand I had besides 88 the whole tourney. I also folded Q10s from UTG with 10 BB's, so I saw a couple mistakes for sure. I saw a guy call off some girls all in for like 2500 with 65s so the play definitely wasn't the greatest. Limp folding from a lot of people, but I didn't have enough aggression like you said. AK in $20 Night Owl Freezout Not a level, just a micro player who has tried a couple mid-stakes tourneys lately. I use to play a lot of the 2.20 180 man tourneys before Black Friday, and sometimes the Sunday 1/4 million and stuff like that. Usually max buy ins of $10. Now that there are way less tourneys to play If I feel like playing with a decent field size I have to play higher buy ins. $110 Tues/Thurs Tournament at Hammond Horseshoe It was bad... really bad lol. First live tournament, guess I had too much hope. I was playing super tight, blinds started to get high. I only limped with a pair of eights before I finally got AA. I was first to act blinds 100/200, and I limp. I felt a raise would look like AA or KK from me so I was hoping to trap, and a lot of people were raising pots so I thought there was a good chance. Instead 5 to the flop. 8-9-9. I'm patient, and mainly always run into bad beats.. rarely bust on a misread or reckless play. Haven't been able to build up anything on carbon so far, but before Black Friday I was finally starting to up my volume and felt my play was better then ever. Thanks for the consideration. He couldn't wait to get some money into a pot. He tried to get into the first hand, and threw down a couple $25 chips. Then went to the cashier and came back with $100+ more.
