demidov's shove is actually rather standard based on how the hand played up to that point. he had a double gutty and def has some fold equity. 4betting was pretty ballsy with those stacks, you have to be fairly certain dennis is folding, i dont know how often phillips is really going to limp reraise there with napkins or even TT type hands. the way dennis played the hand is atrocious. calling pre is awful, leading flop is awful.

ok you guys seem to misunderstand basic poker fundamentals. suppose youre not sure if youre folding to a shove or not. thats fine, the table is effectively 6 handed (there is 1 person sitting out, 1 person already folded and only 8 players at the table) so youre going to win the blinds a fair amount, ESPECIALLY if everyone thinks that people are folding 77, 88, AJs and maybe AQo to your open raises. secondly, the table is weaker so its not like theyre just going to shove or fold 100% of the time. you do realize they might call and you have the 6th best hand in poker and you can win money on ...

this thread should not still be going on. you are pissing money away by folding. you cant pass up +EV spots the end theres no advanced discussion going on. this is a preflop spot. there are people who want to pass up an edge for bad reasons, and people who know that passing up an edge this large is bad.

you have to be a 5ptbb winner to pass up a .1bb edge spot which is definitely possible in a tourney considering how bad people are. i dont think anyone should be passing up a .3bb edge though. to pass up a 4bb edge spot (which is what it is if you are 51-52% to win the hand) you need to be a 200ptbb winner. thats just silly.

this is an easy easy easy call. its pretty obvious mig misclicked and his raising range is wide so people behind him probably arent shoving correct (correct shoving range from this position should be sooo wide, like 66+ KQo, ATo A9s probably considering how light mig raises) but theyre definitely shoving wide enough to make it a call from mig.

if we give him the worst possible range (worst possible range for our hand that he is definitely shoving) of 99+ AKo AQs its +EV to call (barely +EV though). its possible hes not showing up with some of the big hands that dominate us here and very likely he shows up with worse. what i mean by "possible hes not showing up with some of his big hands" is his tank shove is almost certainly either a tough decision or a hollywood. so i think this removes TT/JJ/QQ/AK from his range usually. that would improve your equity as TT v KK+ TT/99, AQs is 1% higher than it is vs 99+ AKo AQs. its ...
