At some point we are going to have to be realistic and come to the conclusion that although we are supposed to have some of the best defensive coaches in the country our defensive strategy is flawed. Yes, I know we have had some great defensive teams in the Stoops era, but honestly, we always seem to get hurt by a strong passing team. Re(2): Dear Stars Rep - When is the "Near Future?" I did not like the step tournaments because I always saw it as a way to funnel money up to the better players. At party that was especially true. I remember watching 2 or 3 of the top SNG pro's buy straight into every level 5 and just wait for them to fill with micro donks like myself who had managed to climb the ladder. Think about it, If you are a top SNG pro would you rather play other top pros who just buy straight into 1k and $500 SNG's or wait till you can play a step 5 against a much weaker field. Help with a confusing hand. Ok, I'd like a little help analyzing the following hand. I guess I must have played it bad, but my thought process at the time seemed so reasonable. Re(2): How to make a killing at online poker. But would also reduce the number or players ( a large % of which are weaker players ). I would love to see a statistic indicating what % of a given sites player base are players who are only in action because someone transferred them their buy in. Not everyone who utilizes p2p transfers are unethical or cheaters, and I hope that the sites take time to consider this before they put the banhammer on them. I use them myself alot when I want money on sites other than stars. It is very easy for me to get money on and off of Stars so I would rather trade $$$ with someone I know at one of the other ... Tribal online gaming a possibility?? Ok, hopefully some of you legal buffs can shed some light on this question. I was reviewing the new online gaming law and noticed that there is also a carve out for anything conducted on tribal land. Now I am almost certain that the intent of this carve out was to protect the Tribal bingo networks that participate in those "linked" million dollar games and such. However, the law doesn't appear to specifically stat that so I was wondering if the following scenario is plausible. Most tribes have a diverse business portfolio. Re(3): Predictions for on-line poker one year from now I think there is a strong possibility that those who have predicted it will become regulated in the US, and the primary players will be the big land based gaming corporations could be right. The more I think about it, the easier it is to see a situation where some of the bigger named sites such as Stars, Party, Fulltilt etc. are purchased by names like Harrahs, MGM/Mirage, Penn Gaming, Stations, Lakes Entertainment, etc. Really that would be a win/win situation for everyone. Re(1): I can't believe I'm saying this, but I want to play poker in Oklahoma I am from Oklahoma, and I can tell you that Cherokee is one of the nicest venues I have ever seen. I am in the industry and presently work in a tribal casino here in Oklahoma, but I have worked in Vegas as well. Right now there is no question that Cherokee is the one that the rest of us are chasing. They have pretty much set the standard in the Midwest for poker tournaments. At present they host 2 major tournaments a year. The upcoming Oklahoma State Poker Championships and the Scotty Nyguen (sp') classic. Both feature reasonably large buy in final events. Unless you are gone long enough to have missed an additional round of blinds. Also, even if you did miss an additional round of blinds you should have the option of waiting until it is your blind again and post in position without penalty. In your post you said you usually wait until it is your button to take a break, If I were you I would consider changing this practice.
