Re:Book Sluts!!!!!
Of all the books I have, I can recommend only one as an all time favorite. Stranger in a Strange Land-Robert Heinlein I have given away this book more than any other. This out of the 3-400 books I have read during my life. I grew up reading heavily, as it runs in the family. It's a sickness, obv, but worth every page. For fun, I read about random trivia and information. Check out Mental Floss. You may become addicted!

Re:Micro Cash-Extracting value on made hand
Thanks for the responses, guys. This is generally a tough hand to play (33) UTG, hence the limp. I was looking at it from a perspective of 3 players, no PFR, and a seemingly unthreatening board. My check on the flop was trying to find action by another small PP or draw. By the turn, I knew I had to start trying to build the pot, and was happy that I got raised. True, flatting that raise may have looked stronger than reraising to some, but I felt that against this guy it might be the right play. It was typical of him to try to raise players off a hand if he felt they were weak, but would ...

Micro Cash-Extracting value on made hand
This is not something that happens very often, but when it does, of course I want to as much value out of the hand as possible. Is it possible to get more out of this hand' I'm generally TAG, and this table had been very active. I was about 19/10 in this session and villian had been LAG 38/4. I was hoping for a flush to fill or his card to hit so that some more cash would get in the middle. Maybe the river card was the killer in this hand, or should I have bet as if I was bluffing' IDK, any ideas' Or was this all I could get' PokerStars Game #22931627318: Hold'em No Limit ...

Re:Huge Overshove....there has to be a better plan for this hand
Maybe it's just me, but I like your position. First, your chipstack is threatening to others if you raise a fair amount. I would prob make it about 850 PF. This, I think, is large enough to charge the limpers for trying to see a cheap flop. If these guys have been overly agg, then maybe a shove is fine, but otherwise I would try to get Killah to play. Second, if Killah does have a good hand, he might try a squeeze as just calling this size raise will leave him shorter than he wants to be on the flop. I think this would be a good play for him as it would force MTG to make a tough decision ...

Re:$20 NL, Result included - AA and I check turn
I think your play was fine if not a little conservative. You could argue for a bet out on the turn as he has checked flop and turn now, but I would be a bit cautious as it smells like he's trapping with a made hand. As played, you have to call the bet on the river if you think he's bluffing with no more than a pair. His bet looks like it's more for value on the river. I probably would have bet out $4 on the turn and folded to a c/r. He's followed the whole way so I would have to put him on 2pr or better by then given the low cards on the board.

750k satt., AKh in SB, Play on river?
Late in the Satty w/~12-13 left, 10 get entry. Villian fairly in line but can change it up at times. He's been runnin good too. I know my pre-flop play here blows, but I know that villian will min-raise with a fairly wide range including top tier hands and down to JT or T9. I wasn't trying to be tricky with AK here, just a bit cautious PF considering the bubble. What's your line on the river as played' How about villian' Will post results if anyone interested in the outcome. Thanks. Re:Tunica ?'s
Definitely the Gold Strike tourneys are ones to play. Good, not great structure, but worth playing, especially on Sundays. Sams Town tourneys are soft as well. Almost all of these places have daily tourneys, so you can pick and choose. As far as cash games, I like the GS and Sams. Horseshoe is good too, but seems to attract the regulars who are there to try and prove something. A good place to play if you got a solid game. I try to get to Tunica about once a month and have done well there overall. GL

Re:Hows my line here?
If the range you have him on is right, or close for that matter, then the river bet is fine by me to get value. I think a little larger bet would have been better so as to get paid by that weaker A. Betting out is good in that you may extract some value from a few hands that otherwise would not have bet a bluff on the river. The only downside I see is a button bluff raise gone good by chance and letting him get there on the river. 3 betting PF OOP with this hand could get sticky on most flops. Played fine imo. Hope you got him that hand.

Re:FTP Early Dbl, UTG, ??
Thanks for the replys, guys. For me, this was one of the tough hands to think through quickly. Against verde, I was ready to ship it in. When licker re-raised, I paused. Verde I put on a mid PP or AJ+, obviously ready to push given his stack. Licker's RR smacked of a very good hand to me. I put him on (quickly) JJ+, AQs+. The only hands I didn't want to see were KK or AA. Against the others I was ready to gamble, so given the ranges, I regrettably called. verde-99 licker-AA I hit the K on the flop but didn't improve. I still don't really know what I would do in hindsight ...

Re:Very Interesting Hand - Did I Play This Right? Need Some Input (not result oriented)
Personally, I don't mind the flat PF here. 77 is a decent hand and your still early in the tourney, so some gambles have to be made. I don't think your deep enough to be set-mining yet, but I wouldn't mind seeing the flop, especially considering that all he did was hit the pot bet button. I agree with your line of thought as well. He has to have an overpair or 2 overs with this flop and his bet. Considering he led into you for 300 in a 350 pot, I would be inclined to fold. You seem to have 6 outs at best to beat his 'possible' overpair. A 568 board would be much better in ...

FTP Early Dbl, UTG, ??
Seems all my good hands were coming in UTG. Has been an active table, but good PF play by most, avg post-flop play. I had been dead for a while, so probably looked sorta tight. Re:Fear and Loathing Online!
Sounds like a little frustration to me. I have the same things happen, so try not to let it get to you. Shit happens and your not going to win all your 70/30's. I would suggest taking a few days off and just relax and think about how your playing key hands. Compare that with the level of players your playing against and so forth. The big thing is keeping your head on straight and playing your best. As an example, I recently went over 500 hands without getting dealt AA (1 in 220). Then last night I was dealt AA 4 times in 154 hands. Weird variance WILL happen, just don't let it eat at ...

Unfortunately no. Don't buy MacPokerPro though. Support doesn't exist and it hasn't been updated in 2 years. Won't work with OS X 10.5 either, so don't waste your time. PokerTracker 3 is supposed to be out soon. I'm waiting for that to come out sometime end of summer or fall.

Re:I saw the saddest thing today..
Bad for THAT squirrel. Was going somewhere with a couple other guys years ago, taking my car. A quiet, 4 door import. Had the windows down as it felt real good that morning. Driving on a neighborhood street and rounded a blind turn about 30-35, and a squirrel just runs across the road in front of us. Right in front of us. The only thing we hear is a POP, as I think I hit it square. Everyone of us, at the same time just said OHHHHH! DAMN! It was the only topic of conversation for about 2-3 hours. At least he didn't even know what hit him.
