What has been your big break/score which spurred you forward playing poker?
Seems like I only play above my bankroll because I don't get to play that often. Had a few 10k scores online over the years to keep me afloat, but chopped for second in a live 1k buy in at Foxwoods last year for 55k which really gave me some breathing room...small scores since then

Just won a wsop seat...
They only credited my acct with 1k (not the 10k plus 1k for expenses) as yet (the terms and conditions say it will be credited within 4 days)...there is no way I will be able to cash out in time to use the proceeds to buy in...I could use other monies to buy in, but would rather not...any options that anyone can think of...I want to go and play.

I am currently on day 6, I've lost 8 pounds and feel fine. Hunger is not an issue after the 3rd day, and the only really unpleasant part is the saltwater flush. I'm gonna get my eat back on Sunday. This is my second time doing it, and I recommend it for anyone who's feeling like shit and been living unhealthy for a while. I plan to start an exercise and healthy eating regimen next week, so this is my jumpstart. GLGL

There is only one way to avoid this dispute (which will last FOREVER).....leave your current shithole and move to another, more peaceful shithole. This is a dilemma which will not end well in any of our lifetimes, so why subject yourself and your families to the constant danger and turmoil...this goes for any Jew or Arab living in and around the Gaza strip...The only ones you can really feel bad for are the children who's dopey parents subject them to this insanity by not moving from the warzone.

thnx ship..played in 2 10k's before (a few years back)...played very scared 1st one..managed to last til 81st, but really never gave myself a chance...last one played better, but still a bit tenative, busted 51 (payed 42)...both of those started w/ less chips, so we'll see...you playing'

WPF Foxwoods 10K...strategy help?
Not much experience in these big buy in events (30k starting stack, 50-100 to start w/ 90 min. levels) Should I play day 1A or 1B (where would weaker field be')...should I be looking to chip up 1st day'...play tight to survive'....simply go in and play my best (as bad as that might be)' Sattied in btw. Any help from the ballas out there would be appreciated.

The reason the US (and the world) is in this economic crisis due to the fact that consumers are borrowing WAY above their means in every respect. A guy making $12/hour bought a $350K house (w/ no money down, obv), driving a $40K brand new car, watching a 60 inch plasma TV, and has $50K in credit card debt. What responsible lenders/financiers would possibly look at this equation and deem this OK' The answer is NONE! Buy the house w/ the 3.5 % down on the 30 year fixed rate. You will get all the PMI and interest paid as a write off, and will not need to care about refi-ing in 2 years. They will tell you that they will refi you w/ no origination fees next time, but they will make their money via "yield spread" (which amounts to giving you a higher interest rate, and making money from the bank). 4 years managing a mtg. company, and there is no such thing as a "free loan/lunch"

I was 1st to act and in the mood to mess around so I shove jokingly (w/ no emotion or comment) this is where the magic happens.. .. the 1st guy tanks for 30 seconds talking himself through the hand (as the others listen), and after deliberating, folds! The next guy instafolds!
