Congratulations! Great time and good luck training for the marathon. The crowds and the other runners make it seem so easy compared to running on your own. Great job!

Re:gg leachypoo =( Get your Settlement on son!
Doesn't sound like that coach deserves to be on the sideline at all. Letting a matter like that linger all season rather than correcting it at first instance is a sign of bad coaching.

Re:Why are humans the only species that evolved intellectually?
Wouldn't it make sense that the first intelligent species would kill off any other species that showed enough intelligence to compete with them. We are humans after all.

Easily 3 to 4 feet over the past couple of weeks and plan to stay out of it as much as possible.

Re:What has happened to Halloween?
When I was a kid my brothers would drag me to 200 houses and we'd be running pillowcases full of candy home and then heading back out for more. And forget about going to single detached homes, the townhomes were closer together and easier to get to. Had about 200 show up last year on a nice night but only 60 to 70 this year on a rainy night and the whole swine flu thing that's running through town.

Re:Top 5 worst candies received on Halloween
I got all worked up about Smarties being on the list until someone posted a picture of what these "Smarties" looked like. Canadian Smarties are more like M&Ms. Gotta go with the taffy "kisses", those were just terrible!

Re:2010 Olympic Medal Designs Released
I am very unimpressed with these medals. The same type of dull aboriginal art can be picked up at any tacky tourist shop throughout the country on coffee mugs and cheap posters. The medals themselves have no attachment to Vancouver/Whistler or Canada and the minimal design on the reverse does not reflect the relevance of the importance of the event. I'll give credit for the wavy design though. Expect lots of photos of athletes biting the medals.

Re:Malcolm Gladwell- Outliers
Read the book and was disappointed because there was nothing new in it to me, i.e. hockey birthdates, 10,000 hours, the airplane crash (which had been turned into an episode of the television show Mayday airing on the Discovery Channel before the book came out). I'll have to read his other two books to give an opinion of him as a writer.

Muskoka Ironman 70.3 *Steakage*
I'll be running in the Muskoka Ironman 70.3 this Sunday. Following SoCalDrew's lead from earlier this year, I'll be giving away 4 - $4.40 stakes on Pokerstars to whoever guesses closest to my race times in each of the swim, bike and run, and my overall time (including transition times). Swim 1.2 miles (2 km) Bike 56 miles (94 km) Run 13.1 miles (21.1 km) I expect to finish in the middle of my age group. Any ties will go to the earliest poster and leave your Pokerstars name. All the best.

So if you don't have insurance or the money to pay for the surgery, how long is the wait' Canadian Health Care is not perfect so don't follow it. Find something better that covers everyone.

Re:Myths about the Canadian Healthcare System
Hey Forests, Heard a story of a small town around here that was looking for a family doctor, so they offered any doctor that wanted the position a new house, huge pay and all kinds of incentives. So some local doctor dropped all his patients and took up their offer 20 minutes away from his practice for the extra pay. Well played doctor.
