Re:Starting Day 2A wih $114K - Advice Welcome Another one came in the last 10 minutes of the night. I was chip leader at the table with about $60K. Older guy to my right had about 50K. Action folds around to him on the button. He raised to $1,200. I look down at AsQs. I want to see if he was just stealing so I raise to $3,600. He calls. Flop comes AcQh2h. I bet $4000. He raises to $10,000. I stop and think. If he had AA pre-flop I guess he could have flat called in position, but the way he had played all day, I did not think so. He also could have had QQ in which case I was dead. I decide to make the move and push allin. He instacalls ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Starting Day 2A wih $114K - Advice Welcome A few. Here is one from round 2. I was on the button with about $30K. Folded to me. I had Ad10d. Raised to $600 (blinds were 100/200). SB (Stig Rasmussan) raised to $2,400. Raise seemed odd to me. I think he was still steamed from an earlier hand. I called. Flop came As10c3s. He bet $1,200. I raised to $4,200. He goes allin. I thought for a bit. He could have had AA, but I doubted it. I put him on AK or AQ. I call. He shows 2s4s for straight flush draw (bad read). Bricks turn and river and I move up to over $50K knocking out a very tough player. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): How Does a Guy with $2400 in Cashes Make the Stars 150NL Final Table? Legggggggggy, Thx for the kind words. So folks don't think I was a complete donk prior to PXF, I'll give you a little background. I started playing seriously online about 18 months ago. I've been fairly successful in my day job so I was able to take $10K and use it for my new hobby. The deal with my wife was when that is gone, my hobby is done. I won (2) live tourneys last spring for a total of $18K. I've won a couple UB $100 MTT's. I finished 3rd a couple of months ago in a UB $150K. My BR has never dropped below $5K and I've cashed out for around $15K. I will say that I strongly endorse ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): How Does a Guy with $2400 in Cashes Make the Stars 150NL Final Table? Bax, it is a little inaccurate on the cash total, but that is OK. That being said, however, PXF has helped my game. The key has been plugging some leaks in starting hands like KQ/KJ suited. Also, I have improved my position play quite a bit. Aside from the final couple hands, i was very happy with my play. I made some verg good lay downs that would have ended my night. Since it was the first tourney I have used the PXF avatar, I'll stick with it for a while for good luck. So when do we work out the free advertisement cut' Just kidding. GL all. DblupM0j Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Urgent: A serious question in need of serious answers Speaking as a 39 year old with a wife of 10 years and (2) children, I think I can offer a different perspective. If you are like most of the folks on this site, I think it would be a difficult choice to give up what you love to do. You may be able to do it for a while. In the end you would probably resent your significant other for forcing you to give it up. There has to be some comprimise in any relationship. I think you made a valid attempt at meeting her half way. My two cents would be to find someone that is a little more understanding of your hobbies (passions). My wife understands that ...
