The Southern Baptist Convention cites PPA I don't see any poker players starting a petition to outlaw religion and church services so I'll never understand why these groups feel it's their responsibility to try and control everything. If you're against playing poker, then don't play. If you're against gambling then don't do it. If I don't want to go to church I stay home. If I don't believe in what other religions believe in, that's ok with me because it doesn't really effect me or how I live my life. Leave me alone and let me make my own decisions. What I miss about FTP....... I miss watching the high stakes cash games. Especially those pots that were in the 200K range. Posted in: Poker Community |

Pokerstars Purchases FTP??? I think the only reasons that Stars would purchase FTP is to eliminate the competition overseas if there's delays coming back into the US market. And looking like the good guys by paying off the DOJ, hoping this will speed up getting back in the US. Even if Stars partners up with a B&M casino in Vegas you have to figure there will be plenty of opposition and legal battles trying to keep them out of the US from the other major Vegas heavy hitters. I still think we're years away from Stars coming back into the US. jmho Posted in: Poker Sites |

Nevada Online Poker So, you'll have to live in Nevada or be a tourist to be able to play' Sounds like this will be a giant home game in that the 1500 regular online players will be taking each others money night after night. Sounds like a hoot. So if MD, IA, CA and a few other states go the same route as NV this will suck imo. I just don't understand why the states who want to allow online poker can't get together with our govt. and have 1 or 2 larger sites. Every state that opts in should have to kick in the same amount of money as a fee for joining and then every state should get an equal % of the ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Need some advice/suggestions on where to move Well, here's my situation. Have lived in the midwest my entire life and in SW Missouri the past 22 years. Since I don't have any kids, no pets and no wife I've decided to sell everything and move somewhere else. I currently work for a logistics company that's based in Cincinnati but can live anywhere in the US as long as I have a solid internet connection and my cell works, since I'm on the damn thing 3-4000 minutes a month. Would also like to move to where I could play the occasional low stakes poker tournament. Just looking to rent a small studio apartment in a safe, quiet area. I'm ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Churchill Downs acquires Bluff Seems to me that if the US does legalize and regulate online poker that there's going to be too many sites. You have several Vegas casinos clearly setting up the infrastructure for online poker and now Churchill Downs. I hope down the road we don't end up with 20 US sites that resemble Cake/Bodog where it takes 2 hours to fill a plo sng and the mtt schedule blows. Posted in: Poker Community |

Ex-Professionals that moved on since BF... I was just a low stakes recreational player before BF but I sure do miss having the opportunity to play online at stars now that it's gone. I also feel that in my case, BF might have been a good thing. It made me take a step back, examine the situation and forced me to realize that the possibility of making enough money to play full time was slim at best. So maybe BF saved me from making bigger and more costly mistakes down the road. Posted in: Poker Community |

FTP License revoked today Seems to me this entire fiasco about a potential buyer for FT was a smokescreen. I doubt the AGCC would've revoked FT's license knowing a pending deal depended on the license staying valid. If there was a legitimate buyer for FT he should have released a presser asking for the poker community to contact the AGCC and he also should have stated his intentions of paying the players back. Instead, all we got was a few tidbits about this mysterious white knight and a plea from the attorney to contact the AGCC. Seems bogus to me. The AGCC knew the most important issue was paying the players ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Post Questions for Poker Law Expert Jeff Ifrah You said that FTP wasn't a ponzi scheme but that it might have been "mismanaged", Do you actually believe that some of the board members who had authority to make daily operating decisions didn't know how dire the companies financial situation was' Posted in: Poker Sites |

Message from Jeff Ifrah Regarding FTP & AGCC (important) Hard for me to believe that one investor would fork over 200-350mil for FTP. Maybe he's trying to buy it without the stipulation that money has to be set aside to pay players back initially but will do so down the road once the site gets back up and running. Whatever happens, I hope someone other than the AGCC helps keep things in order. I don't trust those guys either. Petition signed and email sent from another thread. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Feds Call Full Tilt Poker A Massive Ponzi Scheme I read the 2+2 forum where Durrr was answering questions regarding the FT situation and am surprised he seems to think Howard hasn't lied to him. Hell, he's lied to all of us over and over in my opinion. Players funds weren't where they were supposed to be first off and tons of players were having problems for many months getting withdrawals and funds taken from their bank accounts towards deposits. Acting like Howard isn't the bad guy is ridiculous. He had to know there were major problems with withdrawals and deposits. Players were posting about it almost weekly. The Feds mentioned ... Feds Call Full Tilt Poker A Massive Ponzi Scheme What's sad is, some are pissed that the Fed's came out an lowered the boom on FT with this ponzi news. Even if the AGCC reinstated FT's license you'd have to be a complete idiot to deposit money there and continue to play. FT player funds were gone long before BF. This is one time I'm glad the Feds got involved. I hope they confiscate every single bank account and personal item from every one of these thieves that were involved in this scam. FTP Hearing, monday Seems odd that the AGCC is taking so long to release a pr about FT's status, Seems it would be pretty simple. If FT doesn't have the funds to pay back players then they shouldn't be allowed to conduct business. Just my opinion but the meeting should have been quick and painless. AGCC: So Howard, have you crooks,,errrr gentlemen come up with the $160 million or so you still owe US players' FT: Not yet Sir, it's all the US Govt's fault. Our funds were frozen and we haven't located them yet. AGCC: Well, have you obtained any financing so you can pay back US players' FT: We're still ... Posted in: Poker Sites |

Future of Poker in the US - Let's get some inspired thoughts The only way an online poker bill gets passed anytime soon is if the Vegas casinos and their money continue to push for it. Our govt. has more important things (in their eyes) to work on, especially with the economy, unemployment situation and the war. We'll be lucky if something gets passed in 2013 imo.
