folding top pair on the internet..............LOL
he is probably just trying to gain exposure/notoriety etc etc.....some people like to be noticed, talked about, given attention. See plenty of nobodies talk trash, dress unorthodox, or behave in a controversial way just to get noticed by their peers. Sad but true, only have to look at reality tv shows....people they want on them are not normal "quiet get on with it" types, its loads of controversial, dress stupid loonies, so people act this way to get noticed. Same on poker shows, they want the controversial characters on them not the best players. Allani.....abandon the thread, get on with ...

The Info bar on Stars
i always have it on info tab....it's far more useful to know my position & when blinds going up than to know that seat 1 thinks seat 7 is a fckn moron who should GFY and DIAGF. Don't think that getting involved in chat can help your game any, so its very rare i type anything.

A thread on country reads
i agree with this, Germans are immensly competitive in all aspects of life. They were a bit of a laughing stock a few years ago in the online poker world, but, just like everything else, give them time and they will become very good....now we have Pius Heinz as wsop main winner and Benny Spindler as EPT champion and i'm sure many others.

Is this a terribble shove
don't like this line ^^^ hero is not in bb so how is it 1bb more''...don't have the implied odds to set mine and can't like any flop with no 4 on it, i think flatting would be bad here. i either fold or shove depending on my read of the villain, running a hud would help here if you had stats'

Blind vs Blind action
10-8s in the sb in a s/go....i think you can easily fold pre here. You ended up playing a big pot out of position with 10-8o, with 1 pair & no kicker after the flop. Just fold pre and conserve chips for better situations and for the shove/fold fest later on, i'm not being results orientated here...it just looks like a messy situation that you didn't need when you are sitting nice with just under 30bbs and the chip lead

Is this always a jam from utg with my stack size??
i don't think you will find anyone who will say anything other than shove pre here, 7-8 bbs with AJo utg is too strong to fold.

Is this check too risky? Plz help!
idk....u flopped top set and checked every street...seems pretty passive to me, u were lucky to get a raise out of him on the river otherwise u would have totally value owned yourself, a lot of players would have just called ur river bet and you end up winning a smallish pot with a set!!

saw a dude playing limit holdem spike 80 BB in 25 hands...
yes it's possible. i have played a fair bit of limit cash and you do occasionally see a player with vpip of 75-100% go on a card rush, they will lose their buy in eventually and prob never be seen again

I think it was funny how Viffer told V. Selbst she cost herself $40k by making videos
from what i have seen of these 2 players, Vanessa will get back every dime of the $40k and more from viffer

I refuse to believe poker players have ever been worse than they are today.
lol...i like this one. Could also add "BAG" meaning "blind aggressive" where a player cannot see his check or fold button and, judging by the hands he flips over, quite possibly doesn't look at his cards

Anyone have a success story?
welcome to P5's plenty of players win money at online poker, "consistently" is not the best word to use as it is pretty inconsistent really with good runs and bad runs. "Trial and error" yes, this is the best way to learn, just play play play and you will come accross similar situations over & over again. Watch some top players play, post hand histories on this forum and, while you will get some loons with stupid comment, you will also get some very good opinions as well. If you can afford it, sign up to a training site like PXF etc and learn as much as you can, never think you are too good ...

3.25-6.50$ Turbo / 45 man SNG
yes, played plenty of these, good for building roll. Play tight early, gamble around the 100/200 and 100/200 25ante level cos big jump to 200/400 25ante coming up. Then make sure you have a good push/fold game to aim for top spot, they are pretty soft at these levels and you will come accross a few regulars but there are some awful players in them too.

Why are live poker players so rude?
sounds like you just had a bad experience, cant say i have ever had similar problems at all. Online, on the other hand, can get so bad i don't even have the chat tab open. I don't really want to see some random prick i have never met before telling me to DIAGF or that he hopes my family all die of cancer. very easy for some 17 yo moron to type in obscenities hiding behind their laptop screen when they wouldnt open their mouth to ppl face to face, that is when they have matured enough to be allowed into a casino. i enjoy live poker and would take it over online any day.

Official Bankroll Management Thread
with $500 roll you can play higher than 10/20c , try 50c/$1 or maybe 25c/50c to start with. good rule of thumb for fl cash is 500 big bets and thats being fairly conservative

Petition to Fulltilt to stop these Multi Entry Tournaments
interesting to see opinion on this massively divided, personally i don't even like late reg in tourneys!! lol, i'll not be playing a ME tourney and just stick to cash games on full tilt (rakeback) and multi-table s/go's & capped mtts on stars so i might be one of the few on the fence here and don't care what FT do with their mtt's

Is playing limit games a way to prevent oneself from bad beats?
the max no. of big bets you can get in is 12, made up of 8 small bets and 8 big bets...so if you play $1/$2 the max outlay for a hand is $24. You will still suffer a lot of bad beats, in fact limit has higher variance cos you will have to showdown more hands than NL.
