Re:Las Vegas Lodging Advice/Info Ok here’s another take on Vegas. I fly in 8 times a year or more on business (for the last 5 years), but pay my own expenses. I have to watch my budget, but I do have limits on the dumps I will stay at. When I go for the WSOP, I prefer to stay at Bally’s, for its location, shuttle to Rio (walk through Paris), across from Caesars, walk to Venetian. If you’re in the chips try Caesars’ or the Venetian (Harrah’s properties). Treasure Island is nice and usually has good deals, but only really convenient to Venetian. If you’re unfamiliar with the Strip layout, Google “Las Vegas Hotel Map” If you ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Re:Need a new laptop Here are some thoughts to take into consideration. Ultras are awful small for playing poker unless you just play one table @ a time. You are also going to find it really hard to get one with the XP operating system, so say hello to Vista, there are plenty of people using it now, so my guess it's they've finally stablized for the most part. I've been buying laptops about 12 years now.Due to quality and services issues in the past, I will only buy Dell laptops. Laptops compress a desktop down to 1/4 of the size. Dell engineers theirs from the ground up, I've talked with plenty ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Do good players get away from AA here? , first hand in the 200 seat Guarantee !! Answer: They might not get completely away, but they don't go broke on the first hand. AA is not a STACK cooler on a low flop on the first hand of a $200, 3000 starting stack tourney. It's top pair, that's all. If you had AK and the flop was K high rainbow, are you going broke there as well, with the blinds 10/20' With a 1500 starting stack, the whole scenario changes. Your line about never getting any action on raise with AA, is probably in reference to later touney play, where you've been playing like a rock. You have to give action to get action, and online there is plenty ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Flamingo Hotel in Vegas? How is it? You may not like the hotel, but you will love the location. As for poker, ditto on Ceasar's and Venetian. Ceasar's also has a midnight tourney. If you can stomach the $2-5 @ the Belligio, it's very profitable. If your GF doesnt play, GL. The amount of time it takes to figure out a table, the slower than online play, etc..... makes live play super time consuming. The tables are way more profitable late at night when the drunks move in after dinner, drinks, and clubbing. she may not be very accomodating to a 11:00PM- 2:00AM session. Make sure if you win, to spend some of that $$$ ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:how did I misplay my KK here OK, first off you need to take into consideration the quality of players in these sattys, overall they just aren't very good. Most suffer from the " I raised therefore, I call" syndrome. You have to understand they have had their ego bruised when RR'd, and unlike the playground ,they will stand up for themselves online. #2 your re-raise is nowhere near enough, the villain's 4XBB raise OOP looks like and will usually be a scared AK-AT,JJ or some other hand where he probably doesn't want action post flop (89o for sure doesn't want any) You only RR'd him ... Re:AK in a tough spot early... This is an $8 buy in and the BBs are $30. Which I have played more than once, and to say the least, they are a little loose early on. The following is based on these general reads With the large amount of money in the pot already and considering your opponents' level of play. I'm insta shoving here. You were up against what was to be expected. If they have AA or KK, then so be it. But chances are, your against what they showed down or similar, taking a risk here for a monster 4K plus pot will give you cruising chips for the next 1 1/2 hours of the tourney. Your getting almost 2.5-1 ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Full Tilt Account Wiped Out I'm calling BS on the 5 year old. You obviously trust your wife, so we let her slide. However, I don't think you could do anything worse than leaving your account open and unattended for that long. Your taking a huge risk, and unfortunately it looks as though you were taken by a hacker. I'm actually amazed that more of this doesn't happen. Its is a whole lot easier to hack somebody's poker account than their Bof A account, and the bank hacks happen enough. Its the reason online banking and credit card web sites timeout so fast, they know most of us are clueless to online ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Stars Steps The Ticket is deposited, but it can only be used for the specific steps program you won it in. On the WSOP steps, you can't win anything but tickets until you get to the 6th step. Once there, first gets a $12K and 2-6 get cash. Not a bad BR builder, even if you don't win your ME entry. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): For those who had gotten a place in vegas for summer what do u do about playin online with the ISP Air Cards only way to go. Have as a backup if nothing else. Not that a DSL line would ever go down. Ha. I would also check the connection, there are some crappy spots in Vegas. If it's bad, you can buy a repeater/amplifier for $350-$500 than can boost a signal. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Try Hooters,,,,LOL, serious, the hotel is new, they have a reputation to build and it's right behing the Trop and across from MGM with great access to the monorail. I'm lucky enough to be at Mandalay that week but it's usually out of my price range. Harrahs has a great location for decent rates, food, and pool. Luxor is also clean and nice.
