If you're thinking of making a hero fold, then so be it, it is possible to fold the river, but I doubt many people fold here, and you obviously just got unlucky and he hit his straight, but I can't see folding here as played, it's not like you have a 1 pair hand , you know' just call UL

I don't think I'm folding it, IMO It's a Flush draw 40% of the time, Aces 55% of the time, and KQ suited 5% of the time, I really don't think he flats you with AK pre, and I doubt he ever shoves with a set there even if you guys have prior history.

A while ago at @ borgata 10/20 NL, i slow played a flopped set to a very aggressive player, by the river there was a 1 card straight on board, but I wasn't about to fold my hand, anyway there was a nice pot in the middle, at least a few thousand in the pot, and the player made a big bet on the river and I went all in, it was another 60 or 70 dollars for him to call with like thousands in the pot and he folded, the whole table was like WTF LOL.

bef99hwk, the flop had 2 fives in it, the turn was the 10, so if he had any 5 he would of flopped trip fives, the reason I took any 5 out of the mix is because donks are afraid of draws especially flush draws, they don't understand value, they just want to protect their hand, that's why I took a 5 out of the mix because he leads flop with any 5, since the flop had a flush draw, and let's say he was going for the check raise on the flop, he definitely leads the turn as the turn brings a straight draw as well as two flush draws, and would definitely check raise the turn with any 5, ...

corrected that part, i meant raise, I agree with you, my first reaction was to just call his river bet, a fold there would definitely be a bad play I think, but I decided to raise for value, and it ended up costing me not going with my first reaction. also since I didn't bet the flop I think I disguised my hand a little bit, and that's why I leaned towards the river raise, If I bet flop and he calls, I would definitely just call his river bet. You understand what I'm trying to say'

In my mind there is 2 hands that beat me there, I didn't put him on a 5 as he would usually lead that flop if he had a 5, and if he didn't lead the flop with a 5, he leads turn or or check raises turn, with those draws out there, so in my mind he either has kk or 1010, with kk I believe he 3 bets pre flop, so 1010 was the only realistic hands that beat me, and in my mind he could lead that river with any king, king ten, with any 10 even, so I raised the river for value, I was actually thinking of just calling his river bet as it looked pretty value ish, but decided to go for the value ...
