Re:**Official February Stars 12/180 Turbo Competition - 2/11 update** Quick question about the sign beside the names on sharkscope here. Ph1shman420 have a shark beside its name, that one is obv. some have a small fish with a bowl, i get it. Peaches for me have star and my understanding is that he is a star player on some leaderboard. What is that other weird symbol beside Kgabe, igetscrewed, etc... ''' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:This is a very interesting post...to say the least I understand what you are saying, but the bold part is a bad conclusion to a good reasoning, here's why. The rest is not really for you Crane but for everyone; here are the numbers (please anyone correct me if they're wrong). This tourney probably have 1200 buying (including rebuy and add on), for around 350 players (it was like that yesterday). 1200 buying * 1500 chips = 1 800 000 chips in play. Hero or vilain is sitout with 1500. 1500 chips (on 1 800 000) is 0.0008333% of the total chips. Since we are talking here about "scoop" which seems to mean win, its a winner ... Re:This is a very interesting post...to say the least Dont know any of these guys. Dont have a clear opinion on the deal or no deal. But could you guys stop talking about 25% being ridiculously high. How about we think about equity like poker players for a minute. With 1500 chips, his total equity in that tourney might be maybe 100$ or 200$. His winning equity at the time of the "def" might be worth around 10$. 25% of that amount really seems like a ridiculously high price to you ' That fact that he won make it look like a big amount. results oriented anyone ' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Survey Results (rebuy tournaments) Hi Bryan, Thanks to you and pokerstars for adjusting to client demand as possible. The rebuy period is now 60 minutes and the break will be there after 55 minutes (except the 3$ rebuy). Will the end of the rebuy period be followed by a 3 min break for add-on ' or simply add-on while we play ' My point is that either the rebuy period could be 55 minutes or the tournament start à :55, cause it would be a lot less annoying if the sync break and the end of the rebuy are at the same time. P.S. While i'm at it. I often gamble at the end of the rebuy period and end up having some weird ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Anyone interested in racing to 5 $12/180 wins for $100?? I might be interested in getting in. If i do get in , i would be open for 500$ or 1 k side bet (both of us or mkore peolple would be ok). It will all depends which day it would start, since i work full time and dont play much on weekend, i wont get in if it starts on a saturday or sunday, in which case i might lose before playing ;) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Can Derek8 be taken down in this TBL race? Compare to Deeb. But also take a long hard look at pokerccini. He only has half Derek8 volumes in 2008...but he started playing a lot more (on stars at least) in the last 4 months... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Can Derek8 be taken down in this TBL race? A win in a 12$ turbo is worth 275 points. You can therefore earn the difference between your 100th scored and that amount. Base on their volume and the kind of tourney they play i would evaluate (pure speculation here) that the last counting score of Derek is probably around 200 points. Still 75 points to grab for a win. Deeb and icurarook are probably around the same number. Quasifiction 100th score might be around 250 so a win in a 12$ turbo won't be as good for him. Of the top five, pokerccini probably have the lowest last counting score (maybe somewhere between 125-175). Also ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Formula for winning an online tourney - revealed. Very good text thanks for sharing. That point here is probably my biggest leak, I wish i was disciplined enough to save those for the heads up part, but I seem to always spend them when we are around 10-12 players. Even if I dont play many hands when we are down to 12 players (AA, KK,QQ et AKs), maybe i'm taking too many gambles too soon and I should probably play a little more thight. Do you think that might work ' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Banned from Pokerstars =( I don't know you and won't judge here. But put that lifeban into perspective for yourself here. 5 years ago online poker did not really existed and 20 years ago the internet was at best a dream. In this world, someone who talk about a lifetime don't really plan more than a few years ahead. My point is Stars could clean the name of people in your situation in the futur when new development arise, or actually stars might even not be here in a few years (looks weird but in 1999 who could have seen Worldcom disapear and 3 months ago Lehman Brother was a top 5 brokers and now its ... Re:Is shoving a medium or short stack with queen high one of the worst possible plays? If not why? Almost. If the opponent played perfectly (card were face up) it would be slighly -EV. Would be +EV if our Q-10 was suited (no level here) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Late in the $50 70k guar, is this a shove? Hi Tranquilchaos, I was wandering if you forgot about the 3 live remaining player, which should probably play around 3, 4 or 5% of their hand. So about 10% to 15% of the time, we will be a 3:1 dog or worst, wouldn't it makes the coin flip possibilities less appealing or do you shove anyway ' On the 40% calling range, i could agree, that he call loose, but would he open UTG+1 with 40%+ here. Find it hard to beleive. thanks for your comments. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:watch me and sowersssss tonight on ESPN I might just have missed it but I think the math side of the 9-4 hand wasn’t clearly stated in any of the threads. Here I will assume that you have an average equity percentage of 25% when you play the hand till the end. I will assume you play the hand till the end if he call or raise you, so I will look at your bet like an all in bet. For simplicity, I will round the pot at 200k (including Mike sexton raise) and round your stack at 700K. In this scenario, when you are called you will lose 700K 3 out of 4 times and win 800K (the 200k in the pot plus Sexton 600K call) 1out of 4 times. It ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): Tilt 65K guarantee, A hand with Gigabet "why do you rule out QJ to me it still seems possible that he checks his 2 pair bc the board is so draw heavy for pot control and to see if turn is a blank." That i could agree "when evey1 cheks turn he prob figures nobody flopped the nuts and can bet for value... Qj in position in multiway pot why not'" That too. But here my problem is with the bet sizing. With QJ, in his position, with 4 people still around and his stack, i think i would make at least a pot size bet (maybe even overbet it, something i rarely do), to define clearly my hand right now and prevent draw since i'm probably ... Re(9): **My Stars $12/180 Man March ROI Competition** Hi Anthony, Even if its still soon, i'm slighly ahead of u, so i would feel weird to cancel that. Here's two things we could do. 1 - For the side bet, we might need 300 tourneys or 400 or 500 tourneys, so we would both put in normal volume and be on equal ground (and make the results more "meaningful"). 2 - I guess against "reparation-penalty" (lets say 50$), more because i hate the idea of stopping a presently "winning bet", than for the cash itself, i could live with it.
