shortstacked utg mid pair shove? Profitable or not? Standard shove 100% correct. No this, although AQs might be in there and at really tight tables I might shove 77 but it's pretty marginal. I think you're kidding but yes I'm pretty sure with 12 bb 77 is fine. Too tired to figure it out though. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Final Table a10 I don't like flatting from the SB much at all, when we do we're going be playing with marginal ace post flop OOP. I just think flatting OOP here we put ourselves in a lot bad spots. I do like the 3 bet but in SB I usually make it bigger, definitely not smaller because by making it smaller we're giving him more room to flat IP putting us in a bad spot post, and worse because we're OOP playing in a bloated pot. I'd make it about 29K. This early at a final table I think we probably need to fold to his 4 bet with ICM considerations. Yes he's light a reasonable amount given history but his ... SCOOP-31 $215, TT facing 3bet on 19bb 19bb is a good bit to shove and when we do it defines our hand to being about what it is 77 to JJ and allows our opponents to pretty much play perfectly against us. I don't hate it and at some tables I prefer shoving but not just as the standard move with this hand and this stack. We may get someone with 66 to 99 or A9+ KQs, JTs and other random hands to shove on us or 3 bet and this is what we want. If we shove a lot of these hands will be folded. I had a very similar hand last night that I managed to butcher royally. I was in the same position you're in with TT but it was BB who 3 bet. I ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

MTT Downswing question - stakers point of view Bluffing (or others) say you have a horse who before you backed them they had around a 25% ROI over more than 10K games but then over 2K games with you they are b/e or slightly profitable, 1% ROI or so, there are no issues with this horse, they are trustworthy and put in the volume you originally agreed on. What's your course of action' Same situation but the horse is down say 3K over this number of games, what's your course of action' Let's say they are a US midstakes player, so fields are smaller but somewhat reg filled. Also same scenarios but a ROW player on Stars, midstakes but ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Playing rebuys as cubes I'd like to hear opinions on playing $10rs and up as cubes. I think this is a terrible idea and you lose tons of equity because the play is so loose during the rebuy period and people are getting it in so wide. If you're having to make folds as you would in a cubed you have to be loosing a ton of equity. Also if you have lost 1/2 your stack and you get to the add on and are not taking a rebuy as well you're costing yourself a lot. So basically if your bankroll is okay for a $31 BI but not for a $51 to $71 BI (assuming 5 to 7 units) is there merit in playing rebuys as cubes or is it better to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

MTT Downswing question - stakers point of view I'm referring to online horses. I'm just curious how you backers determine what makes a horse worth keeping. How many buy ins down is too many and over what kind of sample size' How do you determine whether you have a winning horse on a nasty prolonged downswing or someone who's just not a winning player. At what point do you just drop them if they are trying and putting in decent volume and are a good team player but aren't turning a profit. Do you drop horses who are around b/e or slightly profitable over a couple of thousand games if they are doing all of the above' This seems like ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Your a coach??fo real? LOL ...and one more thing, sometimes I think getting coaching as a late beginner/early intermediate player you might actually do better with a coach who's not so far over your head you don't understand half of what he's teaching you. I get coaching some from a guy who's just a sicko and there are even times when I have to say, wait what' Posted in: Poker Community |

Your a coach??fo real? This thread was priceless, thanks for the entertainment. Those who can do, those who can't teach! But seriously it's all been said, there are some business professors teaching finance who don't have 2 pennies to rub together but they're great professors nonetheless. Also people are inherently lazy and some poker players tend to be lazier than most, myself included, so it's just easier to pay a coach than go through all the information that's out there. Just not sure why it bothers the OP so much unless he has some personal vendetta against cracker9ball. I've read crackers blog and I ... Posted in: Poker Community |

someone who wins loads MTTs please explain how u would of played this was i wrong or? I'm gonna beat that poor dead horse too but your 3 bet sizing is god awful, make it about 2.5X his raise when you're in position. I only 3 bet 3 to 3.25X when I'm in the blinds. I'm rarely folding here fwiw. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

A9 in BB.. If we're going to play OOP it's actually better to raise. Yes we're bloating a pot that we're going to have to play with the disadvantage of being OOP but at least we know whether our opponents found their hand worth calling with or not and we've fished out any trappers. Not that A9s is a premium hand by any means but it's probably better than the trash these two are limping so in essence we're raising here for value and as a bluff to pick up dead money since often enough times the limptards will fold. Again as played why did you c/r, you're probably only getting call with hands that beat ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

A9 in BB.. If it were just the 10bb stack involved then I definitely jam preflop but I don't like this with you having 46bb and 44bb stack in the hand. I think it's unnecessarily high variance due to callers stack. I do however think you should raise to about 4K = normal min raise plus one bb for each limper. If 10bb stack gets it in we snap call but if he folds and MP2 3 bets you then you can fold or if 10bb stack ships it and MP2 reshoves you can fold. I just honestly see little reason to risk 44 bb here with a marginal hand like A9s when you can just raise over there limps. I'd like to hear why you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Are you guys taking this line? At xenon if you're folding to one bet on the flop in these spots you're just burning money. As Tyson points out getting it in here is definitely profitable over the long run. Personally I like b/c as well, with all the equity you have on this flop I really like a b/c here. I don't hate the c/shove but if you're going to take this line I kind of prefer c/r to about 6Kish instead of shoving, I think. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Game of Thrones Season 3 disc (No Book Spoilers) I'd really appreciate it if you all wouldn't even mention me itt. I said I wouldn't post anything about GoT here anymore and I won't so there is no need to continue to be insulting pricks where I'm concerned. I mistakenly posted one theory I had heard the first time I posted itt. I didn't do it to intentionally spoil anything nor did I even realize it was anymore than any other speculation. As soon as it was brought to my attention I immediately had a mod delete it. Everything else I've posted was complete speculation based strictly on the show. Game of Thrones Season 3 disc (No Book Spoilers) No need to ban or ignore me, I won't be posting here anymore but no I haven't read the books not even the first one. Obviously unlike some of you I have some common sense and remember things that happened in previous episodes and put together an OPINION about what might happen. There were numerous clues to the fact that Dany understood what the slaver was saying. First the slightly amused look on her face when he said something about Mormont stinking or w/e it was he said about him. Second when the slave girl said that line about all men must die and Dany understood her. Third Dany ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Game of Thrones Season 3 disc (No Book Spoilers) I'm more likely to think she'll get the dragon in front of them and say that burn em command but that wouldn't be nearly as dramatic as having the unsullied kill them all. ***Official Walking Dead Season 3 Thread*** Hershel is the moral compass of the group and I think overall a lot of people like him. I don't see him going away anytime soon. Maybe I'm easy to please or maybe it's a girl thing but I thought it was really sad when Andrea said she'd kill herself and said "I know how the safety works" which for anyone who doesn't remember goes back to S1 EP1 when she pulled her gun on Rick and afterwards he showed her to how the safety worked. Having the nutty Governor wandering around God knows where makes for more suspense. Carol is kind of wall flower but now that they have all these ... Posted in: Off Topic |

SOLD OUT! - Selling action for WSOP-C Harrah's Cherokee, NC Hi, my name is Lisa Nichols I’m playing the WSOP-C at Harrah’s Cherokee, I’ll be going on Sunday, April 7 and hope to play four $365 events. This should be a really good series and the field is expected to be fairly soft as Harrah’s Cherokee is the only casino in this area of the country and only 2 to 3 hours from Atlanta, Charlotte and Knoxville. I’ve been playing poker a little over 4 years, primarily online. I have almost $100K in gross earnings with 587 cashes, most of which has been since Black Friday. My net online earnings are around $23K. I’ve played a decent amount ... Posted in: Stakees Forum |

Tough spot - what to do here? Not much of a read on villain other than his raise/bet sizing is kind of fishy but I hadn't seen a lot from him. He was fairly active even in EP. Both of us were top 5 stacks with about 21 left, 18 paid. I didn't really want to flat but it was an option with 42bb but OOP just sucked. To 3 bet properly OOP would be 1/3 of my stack and if I 3 bet I get to play 99 OOP in a bloated pot if he just flats, which having position and possibly being fishy he just may do and ofc once I 3 bet I'm committed if he ships it. The only other option was shipping it. I don't think folding is really an option ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What is a good solid ROI for MTT's Your sample size is on the small side and it's not that unusual to run good or bad for 1600 games, not saying you're just on a heater I've played you plenty and you play well, with this sample size it's really hard to know for sure if this ROI is sustainable or not. Out of curiosity I looked up a few of the guys from Merge I consider to be sick good and only two have an ROIs in the 40+% range and one has about 3500 games and the other around 5K. Another 2 have bigger samples (8 to 10K games) are 35% and 20% and the other one over 3700 games is about 25%. All these guys have from $50K to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Anyone play at Harrahs Cherokee? It's great really, I was just up there and average going up at least 6 or 7 times a year. There are a lot of regs but not too many are that great. The nightly tournaments are pretty fun and fairly cheap. I love the Wednesday night $60 PLO with reentry the 1st hour, everyone is so bad I don't suck nearly as bad compared to them as I usually do. Some of the cash tables get really nitty but usually someone will come along and stir things up a bit. I really like the digital tables since they average around 50 hands an hour and no dealer error or tipping so you can actually make more overall if ... Posted in: Live Poker |

***Official Walking Dead Season 3 Thread*** Agree! I like a lot of action in general but I still really liked the last two episodes. I think as for Michonne despite being a total badass nobody wants to be out there alone with the zombies. No matter how badass you are you want the security of a group.
