Re:Is Pokerstars new VIP program starting tonight at midnight? About 90% of my play is satellites and Stars and Tilt (where i get rakeback) not only run the highest volume of satellites that suit me (both timewise/buy-ins) but are AFAIK the only sites that run the $t system. And Stars definitely owns Full Tilt in terms of being able to sell $t. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Most efficient way to make ~$2000/month playing poker? I pretty much do what you want to by playing mtt satellites with the odd regular mtt mixed in too. Turbo MTT sats to stuff like the Sunday Million on Stars or the big nightlys and sundays on Full Tilt usually take around 45-75 minutes on weeknights. I'm a Euro Donk who lives in London who plays on FT and Stars and with a fulltime job just don't have the time to play 500+ player mtts that'll finish gone 2a.m UK time. I probably play a total of 20-25hrs a week as I usually pull a 10hr session on Sundays. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Satellite Sample Size We often see relevant sample size numbers mentioned for sit and gos and MTTs and how your roi% etc isn't relevant unitl you've played x number of them. But what about satellites' They're my bread and butter - god bless ftops, but i digress - yet I play satellites with a wide range of payout structures (whereas mtts/stts are obv constant for the most part) from $69+$6 to $216 (1 in 3 so like stt) to $100+$9s to $1060 (1 in 10 like mtts obv) and everything in between. Short of breaking it down for every different entrants to seat ratio, does anyone have an educated guess to what ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Best poker books for a complete beginner Despite it being written by Phil Gordon, for a really simple, easy to read book that explains everything clearly you can't go wrong with 'The Little Green Book'. ALso FWIW you can also get audio versions of many poker books from itunes or torrent sites, so if your grandad likes gardening or anything like that he could combine listening to an audio book with another activity. Re(1): On the bubble for a 215T$ seat : how bad I am ? Hey Fou, I play a lot of these sattys especially now that tilt have $t and am not sure about the first hand. I wrote a long and detailed response last night then my internet went down asggsgkalfjakfja Anyway you’re seven handed on your table so you must be 14/15 left or 21-23 left, if it’s the former I def think it’s a fold but what I wrote below is before I realised this when I thought you had 18 left. The two stacks to your immed left are so short that they’re going to call with any semblence of a hand (suited queen is probs enough) add to that your position and the fact that someone ... Re(1): Goldstar....is it worth it???? I made it for about one month, was good as i could use my fpps for amazon voucher. You get fpps slightly quicker than silver and i think you get to satellite into the platinum/supernova monthly 100k freeroll a benefit which I never took advantage of as the freerolls played Saturday evening UK time. So it's good if there's something in the vip fpp store you want but apart from getting fpps quicker (2x to 1.5x) there are imo few benefits so don't bust a ball trying to get the necessary points to make gold. Re(1): Things it took me a while to forget 1: Bankroll Management I actually think if you're going to take a shot at a bigger event be it the daily 50k, daily 100k or warmup/million then those are the events to target rather than the 100f/o. Mainly this is due to the amount of satellite players (like myself) who have got in for a small amount. I took a shot at the FTOPS 6 handed $215 for this very reason, yet i'd never dream of taking a shot at the $163 (i think) 6 handed tourney that tilt run. it's the same live, the WSOP ME is a softer field than most if not all $10k events throughout the year. Final Table Donkament hand WWUD? We currently have an M of 18.8 and we’re chip leader with 8 remaining at the final table, top 3pay something like 1350/850/600 8th pays 140. This is the only table I have open and have been concentrating since 5 tables out so have a good line on most players tendencies. We don’t really like our table draw at all. The most winningest player at the table (besides ourselves) is neverwright he’s to our right but is in shove fold mode so we’re not too concerned about him yet. So far so good, but directly to my left are 1stAir and the next ‘best’ player Petit. These are both savvy and tricky and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Ask Gus Hansen anything... Hey Ryan, I asked Gustav this question at the WSOPE as i'd seen him doing it throughout the Aussie Millions. I believe he's writing a book all about that tournament including a lot of hand analysis, so he was relaying his thoughts on particular hands for use in the book. However, I shall ask him again and press him on an ETA of said book. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Ask Gus Hansen anything... Hi all, I've got permission from Adam to post this so no spam alerts please! I work for a UK poker magazine and we're starting a new feature where the readers get to ask the pro anything they want (kind of an In the Well feature). In future months our readers will simply email me questions for the pros who will be taking a turn in the well. But, for the first one we've got a short lead time so I am posting on a few poker forums to get some good material. First to take a turn in the well is Gus Hansen. So fire away with any questions you would like to ask Gus and i'll put the best ones to ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Aussie Millions HU Event Whilst following the PokerNews coverage of the HU event at the Aussie Millions I noticed that both Imperium and YTIU were eliminated on day 1a, yet played again on day 1b. Did this event allow players to enter the second flight if they were knocked out of the first one' I know Action Jeff and Timex played in it, perhaps they can enlighten us as the coverage doesn’t. Re(1): London Poker? If you get a chance head about 130 miles north to Nottingham for a weekend and visit Dusk Till Dawn. It opened in Novemeber and is the first legal purpose built poker club in the UK. Capacity is 450, but tourneys are capped at 144ish at the moment. The place is awesome though. They've freezeouts ranging from £50 to £300 (first sat of the month) and SH cash games (yes 6 handed live cash) as well as a variety of hold'em, omaha and DC cash and donk n' gos. website is / Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): I need to replace my income for a month or two Satellites on stars may be the anwser IMO. Play the $11r turbos the $39rs and the 39 f/os to the sun mil/warmup + the nightly hundo grand. Also play thr $5r to the daily 50k. These are lower risk than tourneys and you could prob hit your profit target on them. you can get 97% for the $t afaik Posted in: Poker Discussion |
