Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network You should try some of the smaller sites if you want to see crappy software. Cake software doesn't hold a candle to Stars or FT but it's pretty good compared to most of the crap out there. Posted in: Poker Sites |

** Survivor: One World Official Thread ** Kim's only worry should be not getting voted out at 4. Her next vote should be based 100% on who will not vote her out at 4. Chelsea seems like there's no way she's wavering on Kim. So most likely Alicia or Sabrina. She'll crush Chelsea and Sabrina in the finals. Chelsea is a terrible speaker at tribals and Sabrina doesn't seem well liked by the men. Kim has like 95% equity right now. Posted in: Off Topic |

** Survivor: One World Official Thread ** Props to the editors for making the audience root for the most vile person left on the cast to make the correct move(vote out Chelsea). Only good thing about the finale is watching Alicia get blindsided or completely bomb at FTC. Posted in: Off Topic |

Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network I hope so. It's too bad Lock banned my state. I'd love to switch to them. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network Obviously but I think it's doubtful Lock is going to start processing Cake withdrawals. I'd love to be wrong. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network I'm saying Cake is much softer than Merge at the moment. I'm assuming Lock has a far lower fish:pro raitio than Cake thus the cash games for Cake players will not be as soft under Revolution poker. I'm sure they'll be a lot more games running but that's not always a good thing. Plus, the press release seemed to imply that current Lock players would have a bit of a sweetheart deal when the switch comes. Just doesn't seem like there are any positives besides a larger player pool for current Cake players. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Lock Poker purchase of the Cake Poker Network Probably bad for cash games at cake unless they somehow get added to Lock's cashier. Player pool will presumably be tougher. Hopefully they don't switch to weighted. Posted in: Poker Sites |

Re(1): party sngs are like supersatellites They are just like super satellites, in that they have fast increasing blinds and a ton of donks. Just the other day in a $33 I played exactly 1 hand and still made the money. I've heard of others that have folded to the money. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Coin flip decission in the middle of a MTT Call, AK is a drawing hand and most players aren't going to fold after they put 1/6 of their chips in the pot. If another player would've called before you then I wouldn't mind a push. Folding should not enter your realm of thought in this situation. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): To gamble or not to gamble I'm with Jeff on this one. If he's a typical tight player his range of hands for the reraise doesn't include baby pairs so at best you are a coinflip. I'm not saying that calling is necessarily the wrong play. Like most hands a lot depends on the situation and your current image. If it's close to the money bubble then his range of hands shrink so you could easily be dominated. However, if you aren't on the bubble and you've been stealing a lot of blinds I'd probably push as well as your initial raise could be seen as a pure steal. Without knowing either I'd probably fold, I'm not big on ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): FT of party 35k rebuy Congrats, from what I saw you played well. After limping into the money you took me out when your monster K8 took out my equally powerful T2 when I had less than 3 BB's after posting. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): OKOK...i will write up something on 180man SNGs and send to p5s..for them to post, blog, or delete... I know the feeling. Last nite, 4 handed I opened pushed 8x the BB from the button with 10d6d only to have the big blind call off 90% of his stack with Qd4d. I let out a slight chuckle after I missed and instead of typing in the sarcastic "nice call" I made a quick note under his screen name and went on my way. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): TT on a ragged flop Fold, he could be making a play but it's not worth it to find out. I'm not a big fan of the raise to 75, I'd either limp or raise to 90. Also, there's no need to bet the pot on the flop, 2/3-3/4 of the pot will give you the same information but will save you chips if get played back at. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Hand advice...playing a maniac You made two mistakes: 1. Forgetting the guy was a maniac and not a calling station. Against a calling station the value bet on the river is fine. 2. You put him on a draw, the board fills two straight draws and you still decide to bet. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Paradise free 1 million I don't have a seat but judging by the payout structure I think it's pretty simple, accumulation is the name of the game. The final table bubble should be played differently then the rest of the tourney but other than that if you aren't shooting for first you are wasting your time. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): world series of poker The correct play is different for each individual. For a seasoned pro it's easy call. For a regular Joe Schmo who probably won't ever be back to the WSOP I think a fold would produce a better life experience than calling and only winning 30% of the time. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): The Suckout King - Part 2 Gidders: 1. Why aren't you pushing initially' There might even be some players that lay down AA in order to avoid being bubbled. 2. Calling knowing the guy has AA only works if you know the guy is going to tighten up after seeing you call down with j8. I would say against at least 1/3 of your opponents it will have the opposite effect. Hyper aggression is a decent strategy against weak tight opponents especially late in tournies. However, against unknown opponents there's no effin way I'm sticking in 41% of my chips in a pot I'm only going to win 16% of the time. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): What makes a strong cash game player ? why risk your entire stack with a 3% edge when you could have the chance to risk your stack with a 30% edge 20, 30, 40, 50 minutes later' Because win or lose that 30% edge will still be there later, just hit that magic rebuy button if you happen to lose. Would you flip a coin 1000 times if everytime it's heads you pay me $1 and everytime it's tails I pay you $1.06' Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): What makes a strong cash game player ? Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm baffled there's even a debate on what to do holding 22 vs an exposed AK in a NL cash game. Those that think a fold is the right play are either: 1. Playing above their bankroll. 2. Don't understand the concept EV. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
