Re(1): Infant Watching While Playing
my first online MTT victory was holding my son while he was screaming trying to get through the final table. I was only able to play at certain times. Plan a head, get a bottle diaper and play on your laptop next to the babys crib. Although it is really hard to type and hold your child at the same time. My son is older but I can emphasize with ya.

Re(1): Any successful poker players ever lose passion for the game and just quit?
Scott, with the information you have given in this post, it brings up an interesting thought I had about a lot of the younger people playing poker for a living. What happens when their hobby becomes their job. This may or may not be your problem. But sooner or later the more you dependant upon poker for income the more it becomes a job. A job means a daily grind. I have been working for my job for over 10 years now, I will probably retire from my job in another 20 years. The older I got the more I understood that stability is not necessarily a bad thing. In my early twenties I changed jobs ...

Re(2): QQ late in 180 $12 turbo
This would be an easy push in a turbo, a lot of time two people have and A decreasing their chance of hitting a higher card than you. Only way to play turbos

Re(6): intresting spot with JJ in the 4.40 sng with 58 left
I think you have to put it in the context of the buy in and not worry about what you would do in $1000 buy in. I have played enough of these micro stakes to realize that 50 percent of the time, they have a small medium pocket pair and dont know how to play it so they over bet. 25 percent of the time they have Ak or AQ and you are racing and last 25 percent they over bet with AA-QQ. More than enough odds to make it profitable to push allin. You need to make moves and gets chips. If he has you beat so be it, move on and play another.

Re(1): Poker and Relationships
Since, most of the people who write on these blogs seem to be no older than 22, I sometimes feel old at 36. but this is my feeling of poker and relationship. I do not think you need to find someone who understands for feelings or love for poker, you just find someone who will understand that you have a passion and you need time for that. The easier way to figure this out is to start with you. You first need to decide how often you want to play poker, if you want to play 12 to 14 hours a day then you need to find someone who will accept that, if you only play a couple of hours a day, you need ...

Re(1): Handling the Wife - Infant while playing
It used to be difficult playing when my son was a baby, I used to have to rock him to sleep if he got up later in the night while I was playing. I usually do not start my tournaments until 9 pm and usually stick to turbos if I can. I also coordinate my play with my wife favorite tv shows so she does not bug me. Laptop really helps than you can watch her crappy show while you are playing poker. I have watched every greys anatomy and could not tell you a thing about the show. It is possible, but you got to do what you got to do. The ones with no children who are giving you a hard time will know ...

Re(2): Laying Down AA Pre In This Spot
I have no problem with this fold. Yes, in a normal situation playing on line or a live tournament it is an easy call, win or lose. But he is playing way over his bankroll and maybe placing in the money was more important to him than just winning. It is easy to say it is an easy push, positive ev, but it is not your money you are playing with. I think people are being a little nieve to think with a lot of money out there they are just instant pushing with their tournament online and they can win a couple of grand. That is why there are so many people sitting on the bubble for most tournament ...

Re(1): Micro Tournies
I have limited funds on PS. I won a couple of dollars on some freerolls. I like the .10 or .25 tourny on PS, it is a lot easier to cash. Also .1/.2 cash game aint too bad.

Re(7): Full tilt payouts
I have to agree with you on this one, Atleast if you make the final table it can be distributed more equally. Hey the WSOP took this into consideration and changed their format to make it more equal.

Re(2): Learning poker theory vs. Playing experience???
I agree that there is nothing better than experience, but I think studying can really help your game. The issue with studying is it is going to take a while to adapt to your new style. It take a long time to develop bad habits and even longer to get rid of them. I think you need for them to go hand in hand. I think the books are alright, but I do think watching the videos has been the most beneficial and replaying my session through pokerofficer has really shown me some problems. You play so quick that sometimes you dont always realize your mistakes until you review your hands played.

Re(6): What did I do wrong?
I like the standard raise in this hand, and then a shove on the flop with the dry board. I do not think he will re-reaise with the hand he has, but he probably will call with position.

Re(1): LAG advice for MTT's
If you are short stack then any position is good. I do agree UTG is the new button and I do like to make a blind steal from that position. With a larger stack I consider position, but chip size of the people behind you and on the blinds is just as important as position

Re(1): MGM Detroit u been?
There poker room is very small but nice, they only have about 10 tables. I did not see them have a call in service. I think it is mostly n/l. They do have a larger room where they can put in 100 tables for large tournaments. The casino is still new and very crowded. If you want to play I would go to Motorcity. There room is much bigger, more games. There basic game is 1/2 nl with 50-200 buyin. Reall nice room. A longer wait at times

Re(1): Tuesday meeting at AP Office
I have no issue how pocketfives had handled the issue. I appreciate them going to great lengths to get down to the bottom of this issue. I think the posters and bloggers of both sites pocketfives and 2+2 have done a great job to bring this to light. on the other hand it is very disheartening that the sites are taking the stand they are. If there is an issue with the integretity or security of their site they should act swiftly and hard on those who think are responsible. It is too important of an issue not to address properly. Just like with any other scandal it is the coverup that brings ...

Re(1): Don't Forget: HUGE cheating at Stars too...
I have yet to figure out why these sites are so passive to these allegations of cheating. If this was a brick and mortar casino, if they even thought you were cheating you would be baned and every other casino would also ban you. These casino understand the integrety of their games is were they make their money. Why would these sites even mess around with these issues. Do they really ever want to make it legal in the US you think they would take it more serious.

Re(2): Tough hand... input apperciated!!!
I do not think you can fold the hand. you play the hand to get a set, so you get the set and you are going to fold' A big pot and a big chance to make a big move in the tourny, they do not come along often when you are playing.

Re(2): How to handle the dreaded A on the flop with a mid to high pocket pair?
I still like to continuation bet most of the time after any raise that I make. It makes it more diffiicult for the people to figure out what you have. I will check about 10 percent and re-raise 10 percent. I am always suprised how often they do not have an A and if they do they usually have a weak A and will tend to fold. Sometimes a donk will call with a weak A but I think in the long run it has a positive ev

Re(1): JJ's under the gun???
in the tourny levels you are playing I agree with 4/5 BB raise, but I think you are giving too much information about your hand. you over bet the pot so they know you think you are weak, I still like the standard 3 times bet, JJ is only a strong hand in position. Atleast if you get reriased or a bad flop you can still get away from the hand pretty easy, a larger bet and you can start to pot committ yourself in the hand. plus the bet will disguise if you do get a strong hand UTG and they will have a hard time reading your hand.

I would of had no problem with calling, if he is acting like a bully he is going to run over you. If you win you double up and have a great shot of winning. 435 sounds a lot better than 50, call and let the hand go you did what you where supposed to do. If he sucks out oh well

Re(7): 4betting all in vs. agressive 3betters in tourney late stages
I think it is a pretty easy shove here, you only got two options push or fold. I am wondering what you thought was preflop when you made the move, where you ready to call if you were pushed back and where you ready to let it go. What was your plan when you played the hand'

Re(2): Winning and Taxes??
is true that the IRS requires the bank to fill out a form for amounts over $10,000 it also flags any amounts just under that amount, if you are constantly doing it they really flag your account. They pretty much do this for any amount over 8000. These are cash deposits and withdrawls. welcome to the patriot act
