Equal work equal pay!
Or we should just allow the market to work. Why a private company (I know this story is about a governmental entity) should have to pay people equal is beyond me. If you dont like what you are getting paid, find a new job. These laws are not only stupid in principle, but as a few people have already said are a nightmare to actually enforce.

Still dont really understand how this is an equal rights issue. Homosexuals have every right to marry someone, just not of the same sex. Same goes with heterosexuals. So it seems as though everyone has equal rights to me.

Rick Santorum Gaffe (what does he say)
I really didnt think I was getting all defensive. I guess I just didnt find the humor in the clip. A guy messed up part of his speech, and half the people so far think he had to catch himself before he said a racial epithet. It is just the normal, lets hate on Rick Santorum because he talks about God, and that scares us BS that is on these boards a lot.

These stats are a little old, but according to the bureau of justice and statistics in 2005, 17.7% of all stranger homicides (homicides where it wasnt family member, friend, etc) were black on white. Whereas 4.5% of the homicides in the same category were white on black.

Huh' Im not saying it has never been mentioned that Obama is "1/2" black, but to act as if fox news or any news oulet is described as half black when referring to his race is pretty ridiculous. I am pretty sure that just about everytime news outlets call refer to him as black.

Well I have learned my lesson with dealing with these ETN's & ETF's. I thought I had done enough research, but obviously not. The more I read, the more I find out that TVIX is not even really fixed with the VIX.

Tuesday stock talk/more bailouts?
I have been trying to find some kind of information, but it seems like a lot of speculation. Some say that there is a hedge fund that held a lot of shares and they are dumping them, others have said the whole TVIX ETN is a scam, and still others are saying that the TVIX was trading at a significant premium to the regular VIX so it is recalibrating. Herb Greenberg on CNBC just mentioned it, but I really didnt catch what he said. I still really have no clue.

It is really confusing because it isnt like the VIX isnt up. Right now the VIX is up 5.75% today. I can understand if the TVIX isnt exactly in line by 2 times, but for the VIX to be up 5.75% and the TVIX to be down 16.25% is beyond bazar.

What authority' Our laws. If the United States Congress declares war, that war can't be classified as a crime. As I stated before you have to assume that the war is lawfully declared. I cant think of a circumstance where I can round up some of my friends and "invade" another country without that act being classified as some kind of crime. It is an analogy. If the government lawfully does it then it isnt a crime, if i as an individual do it, it is a crime of some sort. So therefore we do classify crimes based on who does it.

We do classify it though. If our country goes to war (and lets just assume it is a declared war so we dont have to fight about that) it is considered legitimate in the eyes of our laws in the U.S. I cant just round up a few of my buddies and declare war on a country. I understand if you dont like that law, but it is the law. I think you make a decent point, but I dont think when the sentencing actual comes this really happens. It may have happened before, I cant say for certain, I dont off hand have every case that was deemed terrorism memorized. It is like mail fraud or something. The law ...

Those who are killed dont care if it is considered manslaughter or murder either, the effect is still the same, they are dead. We have definitions so we can classify crimes, and in many cases the reasons behind the crimes matter a lot.
