At this point in their careers' Gerrard is 5 months older. Parker works hard and is good at what he does but he is not going to win a game for you. Gerrard has had injury problems, but he is still a game changer. He can win games single handedly. There are lots of people who can do what Parker can do, maybe not quite as well but not a lot worse. There really arent many that can run a game the way Gerrard can. I hate everything about Liverpool, including Gerrard, but no way would i take Parker before him.

I am guessing he meant Adam Johnson which i think wouldnt be a bad choice but wont happen. I think the midfield 3 was going to be Parker, Gerrard and Lampard anyway. I dont see any other reason why he would of played Gerrard as deep as he did against Norway if he wasnt going to play him there in the tournament. I think it will be a mistake but it will be Parker and Gerrard playing a bit deeper with Lampard supporting Carroll (ugh) I have always been a big fan of Micah Richards but there is a reason that he doesnt play in a lot of Man City's big games. I would still take him ahead of Glen ...

i like the bracket more as it wont limit the numbers and there are only really going to be 5 or 6 people that even have a chance if we draft teams. I will be in for either but just prefer the brackets

What had Carroll actually done for people to e saying he is in good form' He has won a few headers and still missed plenty of good chances. He just isn't good enough. He is no better than somebody like heskey. Might score the odd goal or 2 but in general just doesn't do a lot

Downing and Carroll in is ridic. I like Ireland to go through. Italy aren't anything like the team they used to be and they can def get a result against them. Croatia are very beatable. Decent side but I really don't think they are that far ahead of Ireland.

Tournament starts in a couple of weeks but all the warm up games are now starting. Plus, if I didnt start this thread now I wouldnt have anywhere to moan about Andy fucking Carroll playing up front tonight. Anyway, I think this is a very open tournament. Spain are favs as you would expect but I dont really fancy them. I love Germany and they would be my pick for the tournament. Also think that France may be a bit of a dark horse. They will have a shot because they will end up with huge sponsorship deals that are basically from their owners. They have said that the only reason clubs agreed to it is they had already worked out how to beat it. And I doubt that they even enforce it. Barca will be one of the teams that it will effect. Not a chance that uefa will ban any of these teams from Europe. Any other penalty is basically pointless.

I'm sure they reset yellows after the group stage in CL as well. And players can still be banned or the final in the euros if they get booked in the quarters and semis. Doubt I would ever agree about players not being banned from finals though. Obv don't agree that it is a lame excuse that players know the rules. The ony thing I would agree with is if teams could appeal yellows in the same way they can reds.
