Really need some advice here.. Ok, this hand came up in the WSOP seat espn final tourney.. how could I have played this hand any differently' 2 hours into the tournament and the blinds are 100/150 with 180 players left out of 500. I'm at about 7k chips and the avg. is just below 3k. I'm in the BB with , there were 3 callers and the guy in mid position raises it up to 500. I call and the rest of the table folds. Flop comes: , he checks, I had put him on Qs or Js so I bet 500 to see where I'm at, he calls. Turn Comes: , I figure top 2 pair is good here so I bet out 1k, he calls. He has me covered by about 200 chips btw ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): Don't play with Antonio if you can't afford it. Yea no doubt, time to redeposit 50$.. sad how addicting this game is. Anyways I don't consider it lost money, just won money never won in the first place. Its a good way of dealing with beats, Ex: I just lost 150$.. so I pretend that I just bought an xbox, which I already own, so that way its like I really didn't lose anything at all. Seems retarded but it actually helps dealing with horrendous beats. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(2): Don't play with Antonio if you can't afford it. People usually dont expect anyone to play low cards like 56suited, i feel i can play any 2 cards. I play the player not the cards. Youd be amazed how many times ive limped with "home game cards" and caught straights. Just happened to be unlucky that hand. Its not like I raised preflop with them.. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(4): Don't play with Antonio if you can't afford it. Yeah, I know I shouldn't play those limits with my bankroll.. but ANTONIO.. couldn't pass it up. And yeah i'm sure those beats happen at casinos too, but whenever I play home games I NEVER come across 3 consecutive bad beats like that one. Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(2): Don't play with Antonio if you can't afford it. I normally don't play 5 6 but I got a feeling that it would pay off that hand. Yeah.. some feeling. I know about bankroll management, I just plain blew it. I've been spending too much time playing poker anyways instead of studying for college. Guess it's better that I went out the way I did WHEN I did a week before finals. -DJL Posted in: Bad Beats |

Don't play with Antonio if you can't afford it. Well.. here is how I lost my entire bankroll in a matter of minutes. You know about the curse of having a bad run of luck after cashing out' Well I now believe in that curse. After building a decent roll of 350$ having started with only 25$ on UB in a matter of 2 months, I decided it was time to cash some out before I pissed it all away. After cashing out 150$ I was left with 200$ and enough to play around with. A few nights ago I saw that Antonio Esfendiari had sat down at the .50/1$ table. Not wanting to pass up a chance to play against a pro, I sat down right next to him with 40$. I try to ... Posted in: Bad Beats |

Re(1): Zen and the Art of Poker.. 4 more KK losses I have no idea what you're talking about.. Cash game yesterday im playing with 1/2 my bankroll at the 1$/2$ table b/c Antonio Esfendiari had joined for a little. I fold just about every hand until I get AA in 7th position at a full table. There's already a raise of 5$, 1 caller so I make it 10$, 8th position calls, original raiser makes it 20$, i push the rest of my 80$ in and I get 2 callers (really didn't want any). Flop comes 6 6 4 all different suits, original raiser goes all in, other guy goes all in. You know the story.. Turn comes Q, River K. Know what he had' Yep.. damn cowboys taking ... Hand Question/Advice? Ok so here's the situation.. I'm playing in UB's 5$ 11pm tourney, about 700 entrants. Within first 1/2 hour im in top 100 with little over 3k chips. So far i've been playing tight and people have been folding when I post big bets. Okay so here's the situation.. 2nd last to act theres only 2 limpers, BB is 40, i raise to 150 with JJ.. players fold around to the person behind me. I don't get his call here, he only had about 1100 chips and calls with Q 8. Flop comes Q 10 4, with only 1 over I doubt that he has hit. He follows to bet the pot. With a stack his size I would figure a pre-flop raise ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Why Low Limits Suck No doubt man.. people in low stakes poker tournaments think that a flush draw is the winning hand no matter what the situation or how high you bet, and when they suck out, which they usually do, theres nothing you can do about it. Just got busted out of a 5$ turbo mtt after raising about 200 with AA, blinds were 20/40 after there had already been 5 callers. Know what'.. all 5 called because 40 chips in already is "pot committed." Anyways flop comes 8 10 5.. i bet the pot, 2 callers.. turn comes K, I push all in river 3, guy had hit his set of 3s other guy had called with A 10.. gotta love ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Give me a break.. Alright thanks man.. I'll keep that in mind next time im near the end. Usually im used to playing tight/aggressive making it to the final table with an avg. stack. This is the first tourney I was able to accumulate a giant chip stack so I was trying to push around the table for a while but got caught trying to steal someones blinds a few times and it kinda hurt. For most of the tourney i'd bet the pot (little over 5k) and most of the time people would fold. Guess I just slipped up.. it WAS 6:20 am and I was up all night so probably wasn't on top of my game either. -DJL Posted in: Poker Discussion |
