Ex-Professionals that moved on since BF... I felt compelled to post in this thread, despite the fact that I really dont read P5s much anymore. I know I'm not really known or relevant but here goes.... I started playing online poker seriously while I was attending law school in Chicago. For the first year I played I was a slightly losing player. In year 2 I was consistently beating midstakes. At some point a friend of a friend put me in touch with Govshark2 and we started a backing arrangement for HSMTTs. I crushed them for awhile, chopping a sunday 100r and winning the Mulligan etc. Then I went on a downswing and Govshark had to drop ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Do pros ever 4x their opens? I never ever do this...... BUT a situation came up on sunday where I wish I had. 150 left in the ftp 750k. I have 44 with 35bbs in the cutoff. The button has like 70bbs. Both blinds have 20bbs. I already planned on calling a jam from either of the blinds, but I wasn't thrilled about flipping in a field where I still had so much equity. I ended up making it 2.3x and calling the shove from the aggro bb who had K9o and I lost. If I had been willing to take time and think outside the box I could have made it 4x there and, at a bare minimum, decreased the likelihood of the resteal. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Sunday Mil River spot. To check back or not to check back Even before I saw results I thought you had to check behind here. The only reason to bet or jam is to fold out a chop and I don't think it's worth it Posted in: Poker Discussion |

river spot, vbet or check behind? always value-betting this riv. Don't think he has Tx that often when he checks again on turn, and you can rep plenty of busted draws. There is also value in not showing down your hand if villain folds Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Do ppl still sleep on Bigdogpckt5s ? Bigdog does some weird/unconventional stuff. I remember him playing >75% of hands at the beginning of a 1k ftops once. But he knows what he is doing and he thinks out of the box. The regs that all play the same 2+2 style are easy to read and won't put you in nearly as many difficult spots as Bigdog will. Just because someone does things differently doesn't mean that he is playing poorly. Also, he has been successful over an extremely high sample size so all this talk about running hot really isn't that relevant. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

MSMTT hand vs Asiandude7 Fold preflop. Don't think you can make this profitable oop vs a smart thinking player. There are plenty of better spots for you in a tournament like this. As played, fold river. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

tough gross spot, final 2 tables of wcoop Bef we are agreeing. I'm saying it becomes a tougher decision because his range of hands is worse. We are in agreement that if he shoves I am more likely to be good than when he flats. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

tough gross spot, final 2 tables of wcoop I made this post right after the hand went down, before I was even at the final table. I genuinely thought it was an interesting spot. I think it's tougher if Cairns shoves bc that widens his range. I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Live cashgame spot 1000 big blinds deep First of all, I am sitting 2k deep bc this is a homegame and it is incredibly rude to go south once you win money. This isn't a casino where you can just get up and walk away. If I randomly left after winning lots of money it would be considered rude and I would not get invited back to the (very juicy) game. RESULTS: I thought for awhile about what to do here. I was afraid to flat because it gave good aggressive guy with 2k the opportunity to jam hands like JQ or pair+flushdraw or flushdraw+overs. I thought that if I raised, there would be 0 chance he would jam hands like this. Most of the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
