The Real Annie Duke I am bored and haven't had one of these in awhile so here it goes. Responses to your points. 1) Everything might be slightly overboard on my part but not much. Not sure what problem at UB you didn't blame her for at least touching at some point. Obviously she wasn't involved with every bad thing that happened at UB. 2) Guilt by association' I highly doubt she told him he should say there are segregated funds and then take money out to pay the owners. Maybe she did but you can't possibly have knowledge of it and I really doubt it when down that way. She is in no way responsible for anything ... Posted in: Poker Community |

The Real Annie Duke cliffs: Dude hates Annie Duke. expanded edition: Blames her personally for everything wrong that has happened on UB. Tries to tie her into the Full Tilt mess also and blame that on her too. Epic Poker is totally her fault too. Blames ESPN for making her a star with that WSOP sit-n-go she won against Hellmuth because of the money that UB spent for comercials. (don't remember UB buying that much ad time if any). Blames her for a couple other things that either weren't that bad or may not be her fault. The author is very loose with some facts and makes some accusations without much. Example is ... Question abt a live MTT I play a similar live tourney often with starting stack of 16k. First level is 100/100. I am definately not thought of as a maniac. Maybe a LAG by a few people but most would put me as a TAG. After 5 limpers I can raise to 1000 on the button and will likely get at least 2 callers. I would say that the odds of winning right there are less than 10%. Moral is to value bet heavy and limp with a lot of hands that can hit big. Posted in: Live Poker |

Wondernig thoughts on tip sizing at live 200nl I usually keep it to $1 unless I win a big pot and I will make it $2. It would have to be a monster pot to get more than that. If I am having a good night I will throw in an extra $1 when I take the blinds. Even when it is going bad I still give the same. Figure if everyone did a $1 a hand the dealers should make a good living. Posted in: Live Poker |

GBT....Proof of stupidity It has been tried a few times with some of the individual state games. They only needed something like 24 million tickets and they had a whole week. One thing that always is forgotten all the other winning ticket you will have. I believe it ends up being about 25% of the total buyin and that is all payable immediately. Problems are numerous. Time being the first and biggest. 10 seconds per ticket seems slow but i doubt you could run more than about 10 bet slips per minute which would be about 50 per minute. Coordination with having enough people and business running enough tickets through ... Posted in: Poker Community |

Live 1/2 NL cash game hand question? Game was the must move table and most of the people there buyin short, bust and keep doing it until they go broke. After moving the stacks would be bigger but not at this table. Was looking for a effective stack value with this question, not a particular hand. I am sure if everyone has $300+ it is an easy call, or everyone under $40 it is an easy fold. Somewhere in the middle is a number I should be looking for and wasn't really sure. The first hand I had $85 and was covered by everyone. The second raiser had $135 behind and the 2 callers were around $90 and I had everyone covered. Not ... Posted in: Live Poker |

Hand from the 8$ rebuy.. Checkraise 3 bet' I am guessing here it is either KT or 66. QJs as a semibluff' Most people will not fold on the same street they raise so he would have to be afraid he wouldn't be able to get rid of anyone with the semibluff. Maybe TT but I think he raises preflop with that. Fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Final Table Percentage +1 When I played on stars and tilt I rarely would play in tourneys with a field over 250 and quite a few a lot smaller (>60). I was playing HORSE and PLO8 tourneys and the Big Doubles on tilt. Small field size should mean a lot more final tables than most. The nightly $100 HORSE on Stars would only get around 50 people. I had to be making at least 20% final tables for those and probably more often. Posted in: Poker Community |

Live 1/2 NL cash game hand question? Typical live 1/2 NL game. Most people buyin for $100. Lots of limping especially anything suited. Stacking off with top pair bad kicker. The usual bad play you would see in this type of game. This happened a couple times to me last night. In late position after a couple limpers I look at a small pair and join the crowd. Behind me someone raises to $15 and 2 people call in front of me. I am last to act, so I can call without someone raising behind me. So there is $50 in the pot and it cost $13 to call. What size of stacks behind do I need to be looking at to make this call' Posted in: Live Poker |

Seriously, Live Poker is Crazy!!!!! I am almost certain he has the AJ and was making sure he wouldn't get beat at the end. He was afraid of the board pairing or the 3rd club. I am not much of a cash game player but I don't like the river bet there at all. I just don't see much that he calls with that you are going to beat. KJ probably calls and maybe QJ but that would be it. He also would call with any 2 pair which is the same type of hand to play preflop. As for the profiling of people, that is exactly the way a weak tight player plays AJo there. Posted in: Live Poker |

Heart Land Poker Tour That is how it is supposed to work. Satellites never end until people end up almost blinding out. I don't care what structure you have people will wait all day in those. If everyone is deep stacked around the bubble it will just go on until everyone ends up short stacked. No one will bust because there is no incentive to get a big stack. Posted in: Live Poker |

Heart Land Poker Tour The structure for the main event was beyond awful but the changes should help. Got deep once and with the last 2 tables everything was shove or fold because the blinds were so big. Once they made tv (I just missed it) they rolled them back. Before the time frame was awful too. Less than 8 hours between end of day 1 and day 2. Looks like they have stretched that some in a few of their upcoming events. In St.Louis the Day1C and Day2 will likely be about 8 hours between the two. By the way, they totally screwed up the flights in the one I played. One group played one less level on day 1. It ... how to play bleedin omaha In PLO A326 is junk and should be folded. Maybe a very cheap call from the blinds if the A is suited otherwise it is an instafold hand. The others are playable. 9TJQ is a very strong hand multi way but not so much all-in preflop heads up. Those aren't hands to be getting in all-in preflop. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Exposed Card Ruling From a complete fairness sense you are probably right here but there are way too many scenerios where someone could see and someone not. Keeping rules simple when possible are the best way to go and this rule makes it easy to implement. Position has its advantages and this is one of them. Posted in: Live Poker |

Other Tournament Series during 2012 WSOP That might be a little early for any of the other series. Nugget has announced a schedule and I don't think they start until June. Doubt you will see any of the other series start before Memorial Day on the 28th. As for the quality of these series, Gags is probably basing things more on prize fund and field sizes. Very good reasons but not the only ones. They are all run very well by competent staff from my experience. Structures are comparable when the buyins are comparable. Of course a $1000 buyin at the WSOP or anywhere else will have a better structure and prize fund than a $225 buyin. ... Posted in: Live Poker |

Live Tourney hand Local card room. $30 buyin. First level. Blinds are 100/100 and starting stacks are 16k. There is some play at the beginning of this tourney but the blinds get crazy fast after 2 hours. This is 7th hand and I don't know either vilian. Everyone has close to their starting stacks. The BB has been the most active at the table and taken a couple small pots without showing. The other villian raises to 300 from UTG+1. He is probably about 60 years old and has not put a chip in voluntarily yet. I flat a couple spots behind with 65c, button calls and the BB calls. Flop is Q65 rainbow. Original ... Button w/ 77 What part of fold are you failing to grasp here' You have 5 replies and they all said fold. If he has the nut flush draw he is NEVER folding because he doesn't have enough behind for you to price him out of the pot. You are also assuming that the SB didn't have a spade. I am sure you found out that he had KhKd afterwards and not before. This is not even close. FOLD. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Button w/ 77 After flatting $60 there would be no reason to not call off the remaining $110 here. He is getting almost exactly the same odds as when he made the first call. You are not getting a fold here very often enough if you shove. You missed your set and you should just get out of the way. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Tough spot deep in the Big 55 Instacall. If he has AA or KK he would have made it about 70-80k to try and get a call. Most likely AK but it could be a middle pair also. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Live home game ruling Player C can raise since he has not taken action on the original bet. He must make it 90 or more if he has enough. Player A would not be allowed to raise again since the raise wasn't a full raise and he would be raising himself unless the bet was raised the full amount. Posted in: Live Poker |

Consolidated Fold AA/KK Preflop Thread Definately calling AA and KK. If villian has done this a lot since it got close to the bubble I would probably call with QQ and AK also. I could live with busting out with a big hand in that situation. Posted in: Bad Beats |
