2+2 Forums Hacked Sony, Steam, even the US Govt have all been hacked recently. No system is unhackable. And as we've learned, no online forum software should be considered a safe haven from attackers. Wait until the site is back online before bemoaning lack up information regarding updates and security. They haven't told us what was fixed because they haven't fixed it yet. Major rankings changes coming 8/1 Well, a perfect solution would involve ROI, but you've already said that is off the table. I have so many thoughts but to make this as short and simple as possible: Poker is not tennis, the differences in skill between anyone in the top 100 is much smaller than in the top 100 tennis rankings. The best player doesn't always win. Meaningful rankings cannot be drastically skewed by the results of a single event Meaningful rankings should not show who plays the most, but who is the best. Major rankings changes coming 8/1 I have a lot of thoughts on the matter, but I think the biggest problem has always been that one big score is the difference between someone ranked 50th or #1. Take weavel, he's a very good player, but almost 25% of his point total is from winning the turbo championship. It happens every year with the SCOOP/WCOOP as well. Some binks off the main event and they skyrocket to the top of the rankings. I think the Rankings need to have a few aspects: 1) Prizepool - It is currently ^1/2, but I suggest maybe ^1/3. 2+2 Forums Hacked People get their bank and paypal stuff hacked every day. I'd bet, on average, at least one poker player gets bank fraud every day. With the number of members at 2p2, that means alot of fraud dealt with by their collective membership - all of it having nothing to do with 2p2. At least give some evidence as to how this is linked with 2p2. 2+2 Forums Hacked According to what I've heard, the hacker wasn't digging for PWs to scam or hack poker accounts. He told the admins that he has access to the database and passwords. You should still use this as a wakeup call for intelligent password use, but I wouldn't be as worried about immediate threats to my poker accounts. Posted in: Poker Community |
