Re:Caesars Classic 1.5k event TR
So Phelps gets moved to my table today at Ceasars and the first thing he has to say is how there's this thread bad mouthing him on Pocket Fives. Soooo, that means that the first words I get to say to the only winner of 8 Olympic gold medals I'm ever likely to meet is, "You can't take bad mouthing on pocket fives seriously. It's what they do. Don't let it bother you." He said it didn't, but I think it would have been nice if the kid could have made it through one poker series without having to deal the all too typical internet bad mouthing. Our table broke ...

Re:List of players that fell off the map?
I play 4 or 5 days a week at the Bellagio. Mostly the daily tourney, but also the occasional nlhe cash game. I haven't played enough on-line since the UIEGA passed to amount to anything. I will play the occasional low stakes cash game in the wee hours of the morning when I can't sleep and have nothing else to do, but I can't remember the last time I played an on-line tourney. Live poker is much more satisfying to me and while the big multi-day events are just too draining for my 55 year old bones I can play $4000 to $5000 a week in daily tourneys at the Bellagio and not have to ...

Re(1): A phone call and a sobering question regarding AP. Sorry long and no cliff notes
"Would I be willing to sink online poker just to hang Scott Tom." I'm curious as to why "someone in the UB/AP system" would believe exposing Scott Tom as a cheat would "sink online poker." Certainly the details of this scandal that are currently public knowledge aren't good for online poker, but there's nothing that has been revealed so far that would necessarily be fatal to the industry as a whole. So what was his point' Was this UB/AP insider implying that hanging Scott Tom would result in a wider scandal that would implicate all of online poker in the kind of cheating that's been going ...

Thanks all, I'm a little emabarrased since Waco set the standard so high with two wins in less than a week, but I'll take it none the less. Re(1): Why are neteller et al. grabbing their ankles?
It's worse than moronic, it's suspicious. Very little has made sense about the way on-line poker has handled any of this. From not lobbying congress to running for the hills at the first excuse, I have to believe there is something at work here they know that we don't. What that may be I could only guess, but I think it's time everyone said goodbye to on-line poker until the industry starts acting more rationally. That's easy for me to say. I've been playing less and less on-line in the last year anyway and I moved to Las Vegas specifically to play more live, but even if neither of these ...

Re(3): The Brandi/Capt Tom thing should not be a joke.
Aren't you the guy who posted some time back about getting ripped off by a couple of hookers' LOL. If they'd turned up on 2+2 a few days later claiming they'd given you money you'd refused to give back and that you had tried to put your penis on their backs would you now be wanting to kick your own ass' Look, Todd. I think it's swell to go through life looking for the best in people, but it's more than a little naive to say things like, "I just dont believe anyone can or would make up some of the stuff she has stated...." There are plenty of people who are capable of making up these kinds ...

I've just read the Navarro book, Beanie, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. There's some useful information in it, but nothing like what I lead to expect. I suppose if Hellmuth and Cloutier really didn't know this stuff without Navarro having to tell them I can see why they don't earn their living playing cash games.

Andy Block is about as nice a guy as you'll find. He wasn't trying to insult Doyle, but he did manage to make himself look kind of silly. TJ put Block in his place pretty quickly when he responded to Block's; "AQ, he can't fold queens there" with; "he can fold queens there if he thinks they're BEAT."

Re(1): Rep. Ron Paul is G00T on Gambling Act
Ron Paul is good on most everything. BTW, he's a libertarian in principle, but ran as and is technically a member of the Republican Party. Not that he ever votes with the crew that can't keep their hands off the boy pages. The Republican leadership hates him and would gladly see him replaced with a Democrat if they had their way.

Re(1): Daniel Negreanu is a good man
I'll have to admit that I am normally pretty dubious about acts of kindness that just happen to take place in front of TV cameras, but in this case I hardly think it matters. When you think about what that poor young boy and his family have had to endure, if what Daniel did relieved even a moment of the pain he deserves all of our respect. This next time I'm at a table with Negreanu I'm going to do 2 things: 1] tell him how much I respect him doing what he did for Matt and his family, and 2] Tell him not to take offense to the fact that I'm not going to say another damn word to him as long ...

I'm still in with a stack of $63,900. I just looked up my opponents at my starting table for day 3 and discovered that Spirit Rock is 3 to my left with about $40,000. With the bubble coming up so quickly on day 3 I predict one of us will be getting the lion's share of the other's stack pretty quickly.

Re(9): sheets not letting the truth speak for itself??
If you really don't know from where the name "Redneck" originates and to whom it is meant to apply, maybe you should stop using it. It originates with and is meant to apply to people of Scots or Scotch-Irish descent or, at the least, to people who are reared in the culture established by the Scots and Scotch-Irish in America. To the extent that some have used it to mean any "drunken buffoon, etc." it is as much an example of bigotry as it would be if people began referring to, for example, any "souless, money-grubbing ghoul, etc" as a Hymie or a Heb. As for your personal attacks, as I said ...

Re(7): sheets not letting the truth speak for itself??
It's a little ironic that yu post the following to me: "and LOL@jew-hating redneck calling me a bigot.” My trip down the road of being accused of anti-Semitism here began when I posed a question to Sheets about whether he would think it was acceptable for me to say, ”my Red-neck ass does indeed hate Jews.” He had earlier posted, “my Jew ass does indeed hate Red-necks” and I thought it might be worth getting his reaction to my rephrasing. Well, I have a little rephrasing for you. How would you react if I had posted something along the lines of the following: “and LOL@lazy and ...

Yes, and, of course, any "redneck" who "attacks" a Jew's credibility is a "blantant antisemite." In my time here I've disagreed with a lot of people about a lot of things. So have many (maybe most) other posters here. But all of that only becomes an example of bigotry if it's directed at your personal protected class. You're the one who started calling people insulting names. You're the one in effect arguing some have more rights than others. You're the bigot.

Re(7): sheets not letting the truth speak for itself??
I don't keep up with Sheet's results so I have no idea if he's been on a good run. If he has, more power to him. My point wasn't really directed just at Sheets alone, it was directed at the overall tone of this thread that seemed to be saying that, strangely, all the "really good" sit-n-go players' results are wrong on Sharkscope. I don't believe that is true and I doubt you really believe it's true. I think it's more probable that there are people here "selling snake-oil." If that includes some of your buddies, ...well, so be it.

LOL. Gee, do you think, maybe, that's why I rarely play Party' I've said it here before, my results on Party have been terrible (i.e. the beats and cold-decks just keep on keeping on), but since I rarely play party that hardly effects my overall results. Until recently I hardly played PokerStars, but my results there have been fine overall. Granted, I've done my best on Poker Room, Ultimate Bet, Full Tilt, Paradise and Bodog, but in the last couple of months I've won the $320 once for about $17 grand and won 3 WSOP packages. That nets out to a profit of somewhere in the neighborhood of $35 ...

I rarely play sit-n-gos. My specialty is MTTs. I, occasionally, play a $50 or $100 head-up match to try out new tactics for the head-up stage of MTTs.
