Running bad ?
I agree that its not about making X amount of dollars and its about hands played over a period of time. However, I had a 5 year running average of ~70K/yr averaging 30-40 hours a week and 30-40,000 hands/month. 2nd half of 2010 started running terrible and it continued through 2011 and now into 2012. Mind you, running terrible means making money but not where I need to be. 2010 and 2011 I played the same amount of hands/hours and now that number is cut in half w/ a full time job. I'm just curious as to if others have had this similar occurrences, or maybe I had a 5 year heater and I'm not ...

Running bad ?
How long is it possible to run bad' Little background: I'm a mid stakes cash game player, mostly 1/2 2/4....2007-2011 poker was my sole source of income and I got a mortgage and car by doing so and have had 6 fig years (non sick brag; all money is in my underwater house) So obv I'm a winning player and know so. However, I've been working a full time job the last 2 years b/c my poker winnings are not enough to pay my mortgage/bills/lifestyle/etc. I feel as though I've ran sfknbad the last 2 years...however, I feel that I'm a better player to this day when I'm barely scrapping 20g for the ...

Like somebody earlier said, how many people actually have NOBODY to fall back on if they go broke or need $$$''' Very few people...and if that is the case its due to very rare circumstances or most likely you've been a complete moron throughout your life so much to the point that you don't have a family/friend/acquaintance to let you sleep on their couch til you get back on your feet. If you actually expected it to be the latter then lol @ you and lol @ you even more for bitching about reading this thread when you keep coming back to check on it.

Let's try something that will help you with your bluffing ability in poker as well. Towards the end or at the end of the tour or whatever you do, you're going to let him know that you have an offer on the table just below what your asking price is. Also, let him know that you are eager to sell and need an answer within 48 hours if he's interested or you're going to sell it to the guy that placed an offer already. Work that charm of yours. GLGLGLGLGLGL!!!!

Merge and Bovada (Bodog) Deposits & Cashouts
I had the opposite situation. I deposited WU and only could get WU cashouts and the fees kept rackin up and I got sick of it and customer service said theres nothing they could. So I did the same thing you did and said what if I get a pre paid visa and deposit $25 then try and cashout. They said no b/c my winnings generated from WU deposit so I would have to cash everything out then deposit w/ pre paid visa. I called for 3 straight days bitching and finally talked to a manager that said I could cashout via check if I deposited a small amount w/ pre paid visa. My advice: bitch for a few days ...

Need advice on how to put poker on your resume
I played poker professionally from age 21-27. I made enough to get a mortgage and buy a car and live comfortably. Once Black Friday happened I immediately entered the financial world which I have a degree in. I would never take back playing poker those 6 years but I sure wish I got a job right out of college in finance/accounting like my buddies did b/c they're making 6 figures now and I'm making that 50k my 2nd year. Maybe the guy you're trying to make fun of does work 60 hours/week (which I don't think is that much and I'm sure if you're grinding you're doing the same) but I guarantee if ...

New Job and Moral/Integrity Question
I'm confused. I did terrible in that class and got a D in one of the classes after I said I did well and got a B in all of them. So that means you failed one computer programming class and got a D in another one' 1.) What kind of university allows this' If we got any less than a C in any major classes they had to be re-taken. 2.) I'm actually assuming this wasn't your major which would make a little bit of sense. But then, why in fucks name are you applying, let alone getting a job at something you're terrible at' 3.)

Would you beat up someone who did this?
Thats beyond fucked up. Side note: My buddy lived in a culdesac right off of a semi-busy intersection. We used to go in his backyard and when there was a red light we'd bomb water balloons over the trees at cars with a 3-man slingshot. Was some of the funnest times of my young childhood :) Hell we'd prolly still do it if he lived there. Damn I wanna do it right now... btw: How the hell does the whole windshield not shatter'

Need advice on how to put poker on your resume
Pretty funny, I did the same thing last year at this time in a very similar situation. However, I was part owner of a small business that I embellished on my resume when poker was my sole income. Gaps in my resume always scared me so I wanted a resume back up plan. So I never mentioned poker at all and still have not b/c its frowned upon by everybody. You have to remember its most likely gonna be some HR chick reading it and they have criteria to follow and if they see professional poker player their gonna be like wtfff, maybe if you lied and said you were a sole proprietor or llc then ...
