I'm guessing the excuse will be that "Will" was an under-rolled player trying to get a stake, so to help out his friend "Will", he allowed him to use his stats for staking purposes. Playing live vs the internet Poker players always say the same thing about live poker: - I always have it, and they always hit a lucky card on the river - People always call when they don't have the odds - That guy called all that money with a gut-shot or one pair Those are all things that YOU WANT people doing, but one of the dumbest things poker players say is : - I would rather play against "good" players, because I can never put a "bad" player on a hand, and at least with a "good" player, I know where I am in a hand. Right or Wrong? The dealer should have picked up his cards while they were still face down and tapped them on top of the muck, and then flipped them over. His intention was to muck, and by doing so, the dealer would have followed his intentions. It is unfortunate that the floor made such an error, it still amazes me how much this still happens live. question about ethics in poker regarding a recent incident in a live game You did nothing wrong. It is similar to when you are sitting in the 1 seat or the 9/10 seat (depending on casino), and you need to put chips on your cards. That is something you should do every time, but people still don't protect their hand. It is your responsibility to protect your hand, and that includes when looking at your hand. Re:The move to Vegas - input from those out there is cool I live in Summerlin right now and I am moving in August between Red Rock Canyon and Red Rock casino. (Just west of 215-Charleston) Like a lot of Las Vegas and Summerlin, it is all very new and it doesn't even seem like you are in Vegas. Less than 20 minutes to Bellagio and Caesar's, and just literally a couple minutes from Red Rock Canyon. I am very excited and I hope that helps. Re:Dealers for the WSOP I live in Vegas and play primarily at Ceasars and Bellagio and you would be hard pressed to find dealers in either room who would say it was a good experience to deal the Series. Most dealers are Harrah's employees from their properties throughtout the country. Yes, I do agree that most of the dealers are not proficient at all games but I would not agree that you can just learn 2-7 and the stud variations (especially hi/lo) and then just go and deal. Re:HSP ivey vs durr last hand... I thought Ivey could/should have raised the turn. Obv Dwan can and a lot of times does have any two. If Dwan did have a draw (diamonds or pair + st8) and reraised the turn Ivey could then 4 bet/call shove or ship knowing that the only hand that has him in really bad shape is AJ and J9 and a set. I know it is sick because they are so deep but you have to know that if they do get it in for a pot of 1.5M plus they are probably running it 2-3 times which has to be considered in the situation.
