Re(3): My Vegas Trip Poker Schedule The Venetian isn't bad, but I'd go with what GambleAB said. It seems like the Caesar's tourny usually draws a bigger crowd. The Wynn and Bellagio ones have the best structures though. You have to spend a little more on the buy in, but it's worth it. If you're really worried about spending that much on buy ins, try some satellites. on second thought, those satellites are pretty big crapshoots. maybe sit in some cash games and treat that like a satellite. good luck and enjoy the trip. Re(3): ATTN: San Diego area poker players Thanks for the input and suggestions guys. My brother and I ended up going to Viejas yesterday and it was definitely a good choice. We sat at the only 1-3 NL game they had going and we managed to take more than $300 each out of that game. My favorite quote from the day was when this woman took forever to call all in for around $275 with AA. She said, "I almost laid it down. I thought it might be a 50/50." pffffffft I think we're gonna go check out Pechanga today. After seeing how bad the cash games were, we're not all that concerned with playing any tournys. Thanks again for the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

ATTN: San Diego area poker players I'm in San Diego this weekend and was hoping I could get some suggestions for a casino that has a good card room. I'm looking for 1-2 or 2-5nl and some NL tournaments if possible. Thanks in advance. -Chris Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): KC Missouri Harrah's is your best bet for cash games. They always have a few 2/5NL tables going. I know they have tournys during the week, but have not heard good things about them. If you want to play a decent tourny, Ameristar is the best option. They have 30 person max rebuys tournys pretty much every day morning and afternoon during the week. I believe on Tues. and Thurs. nights that have 60 person freezeouts ($60 and $120 respectively). Check their website. They've update their schedule. To be honest, none of these tournys are that great. The structure sucks really bad late in the tourny. They ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): B&M in Kansas City The tourny structure at the Prairie Band Harrah's (north of Topeka) is pretty decent. 1500 starting chips, 20 minute levels, starting at 5-10. I would stay away from the rebuy tournys. The problem with the room is that it's too small. They now only have 4 tables. And when I was there last week they stopped taking tournament entries so they could keep a limit cash game going. The most you will ever see in a tourny now is 30 or 40. The rake is pretty high as well. If you really want to play a live tournament, I would recommend going to Kansas City instead. At least if you get knocked out of the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): B&M in Kansas City If you want to play limit cash games, go to the Ameristar. Harrah's KC spreads mostly 2-5NL and some 3/6 limit. Both places have nice rooms, but I prefer Harrah's. As far as tournys go, it's a pretty limited selection. I know Ameristar used to run a $34 buy-in, $20rebuys/add on tourny on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2pm. They cap it at 30 people, so you'd have to sign up early. The Thursday night $115 (7pm') at Ameristar is probably your best bet. I think Harrah's KC runs a few tournys, but I have heard it's a crappy structure. And I think you have to be playing a cash game in the morning in ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): An Issue That Should Anger All Partypoker players The same thing happened to me when I tried to cash out some money that my brother transferred me. They asked me to provide an explanation for why I was cashing out in this manner. I told them my brother owed me some money and was repaying me over their site. This was apparently not a good enough reason for them. They told me I could either leave it on the site or transfer it back to my brother. Cashing out was NOT an option. I sent them a nasty note, and got a similar reply to what you received. I currently do not have money on Party because of this incident. With all the recent posts about ... Re(3): Brsavage FT 100R Stars A lot of people are quick judge people who decide to chop a tournament. I'm not sure when it became "less manly" to chop, but it really doesn't make sense to me. Each person's situation is different, as is each tournament. In some cases, it's better to play it out because of weak opponents and in others it's better to take the guaranteed money because of ultra-high blinds. Personal preference and the situation of that particular tournament should dictate whether or not to chop. Congrats on the FT Chris Edit: Not sure what a cumquat is, but it sounds dirty and demeaning. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Wynn 300+30 what ape said except blinds start at 25-50. They had only been running them a few weeks when I was there, so the field was much smaller (60 or so). The dealers and tournament staff were great. I am going out to Vegas next Tues. and will definitely be playing a few of their tournys. I believe they run single table satellites in the morning as well. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Final Table of Stars $109 PL Yes I've played with FatChance a few times, and I think he's busted me everytime. He is willing to call huge bets with the weirdest hands. I'm pretty sure he called a pot bet preflop in PLO with like 333K against me. In this tourny it was KQ vs. his QT. GG me. Don't see him that often, but then out of nowhere he jumps in these $109 MTTs on Stars. Very strange. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
