Satellite SNG; utg l/c then c/min raise the turn? Villain for this hand is 45% VPIP with no preflop raises over 30 hands. AJs late in MTT, isolate shortie's allin from cutoff+1? Would anyone consider this a bad isolation. B&M Collusion question A buddy of mine has been frequenting a local cardroom in TX at an apartment. The other night he said there were a group of 3 guys that were friends sitting at the same table, and this situation happened at least 3 times according to his story. Basically one of the players was very lag, raising a lot and showing down garbage. Well what would happen is the lag player would raise and get multiple callers, including one of his buddies. Then when the flop came the LAG would overshove the flop and only his buddy would call him, but THEN afterwards they would agree to pull back the all in bet and ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Loose call from bb against ep min raiser... No real reads on this guy, it's still fairly early in the game. This a satellite to the FTOPS Main Event. Winner gets seat, 2-4 gets cash. I know first response is just fold preflop, and normally I would. The only reasoning I can give you for the preflop call is I know I'm going to be heads up, and I guess after playing a few of these already I'm more willing to gamble a little to get chips. In any case it's a min raise which always makes the math an excuse and if I miss it'll be an easy muck. I'm more curious as to what people think of my post flop play. Re(3): Just wow.... Yeah it seemed to me on that table like he was intentionally going after you a bit. I mean Annie is sitting there going on and on about how good you are and are going to be (which certainly can't hurt your confidence level). And once John started re-popping you preflop it almost felt like he wanted to squash the hype or something. I guess you out-maniac'd the maniac LOL. But yeah I could tell from your reaction after that whatever you had you clearly didn't think you had the best of it. I wouldn't say you had a specific tell from watching you, but when Magnus was contemplating the QJ call ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Just wow.... I know the hand I'm most curious to see is on day 4 against John T where you check raised and the went over the top of his 3 bet, forcing him to fold. I know on the feed after he let it go you let out a sigh of relief, almost reminiscent of Moneymaker after he bluffed Farha. ;) Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Congratulations Annette Obrestad!! Thanks for a truly wonderful ride Annette. Been following this thing at work since last week when you were in the top Day 2 chip counts. Was sooo happy when they finally moved you to the feature table. From the Q7s to take Annie out, to the 33, the 55 for the flopped set to stay alive (pwnage)...I couldn't stop watching. I turned the two women poker players in my office on to you, and the more avid player is always saying to me "I want to be her" every time I email her about you. You're an inspiration to us all! Re(2): AA early, should KKT board scare me? I completely disagree about the preflop raise. Why would I want to discourage lesser hands from calling me by raising more when I have the best hand possible' Unless there are limpers involved I will NEVER raise more than 3.5x the blind preflop, but generally I raise the same amount depending on my position. So utg and utg+1 it's usually 2.5 times the blind, 3xbb in mp and lp usually pot sized raise. Once the blinds get bigger around 60/120 I switch to 2.5 almost always no matter where I'm at. When you start varying your raise according to your hand strength, people who are paying attention ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(2): Request for Full Tilt regarding satty's and tokens Attn: FTPDoug.. Well I hate to burst your bubble, but that's one of the next major items they're working on. Shouldn't be long now that the timebanks are working well, which I think was a GREAT addition to the software. I've been on Full Tilt since my senior year in college when there were MAYBE only 6-8000 players on at one time. It's amazing to see what they've done since then and how large they've grown. Cool stuff. What I understand in regards to T$ though is that it will not replace the token system. So everyone should be happy. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Deep in FTP Daily Double w/ 99......what do you do? I don't think I can fault you for pushing and playing to win. The argument I would make for folding here is that you aren't the first in the pot, and generally when the blinds are this high that's ultimately my goal. But the time I won a $5.50 MTT I had to crack Kings with nines, so yeah it's a coinflip as to the decision. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
