Trouble taking decisions on spots like these hand 1 if you're raising p/f you should min raise or 2.2x. as played fold hand 2 you're utg right' seems like a pretty easy fold to his 30bb shove, pretty gross spot with jj kind of thing Posted in: MTT Strategy |

Poker -- Morally (long) i don't have a moral dilemma playing poker and making money off other, consenting adults. these people are fully in control of their actions, and in a sense losing players are knowingly paying for a service--the excitement and entertainment value of online poker. losing players in the long run focus on the fact that they can win in the short term, and for them the financial risk risk is worth the potential reward (monetarily or excitement-wise). this being said, you could make the argument that online poker presents a larger moral dilemma; how much control do these "consenting adults" really ... Re(1): MTT Winners are SNG Losers? good mtt players are crunked so they can donk around in the sngs. i built my bankroll on sngs and now its harder to grind them out since i play multis all day. you are right to say there are different skill sets; one double up in a sng means so much more than a single double up in a mtt. also to be successful at mtts you need much better chip accumulation skills than in a sng, where its more like grind it out until you see a good opportunity to double up or take down a pot. Re(4): WTF is Strassa thinking? if riverloser flat calls a big bet in mid pos. i'm gonna fold from now on i think. this being said, i saw the final table open up and strassa actually acknowledged the guy who flat called, and it appeared he knew him...it certainly seemed like he had a read on his hand at the time Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(7): WTF is Strassa thinking? agreed, his range crushes qq often, but it includes a lot of hands aq can compete with too. he creates a pot where he doesn't necessarily have to be in a race situation...being 2-1 dog in 2-1 pot isn't that bad. if the guy flips 99-jj its an extremely good situation for strass. i'm not pretending like this isn't a risky play, its extemely risky for several reasons but you gotta give him props for making the big move and trusting his intuition. Re(5): WTF is Strassa thinking? its not that bad dude. the open shove's range is bigger than you suggest here. the smooth caller's range is the important part, and he nailed it. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
