unbeatable rake? so i'm from the DC area and the only home game i've been able to find is a very well run game with 2 tables, many flat screen tvs, free dinner and snacks. the only problem is the game has a $10 rake per hand when pots are over $100 which is pretty much every hand. it's a 2/5 nl game with a $500 capped buy in. is this game even worth my time' do i have to be absolutely crushing the game for it to be worthwhile' thanks for your thoughts. 7pm Stars $10 rebuy last longer Getting a last longer for the $10 rebuy tonight. It will just be one betting amount of $25. Send me a PM with your stars name after you've sent the money and I'll add you to the list. Winner takes all unless we get more than 9 people then we'll do a 70/30 split. I will stop accepting money at 6:50pm and will put a final count along with a new thread to update in throughout the tournament. Send to dstncredible. Good luck. vegas 2/5nl question I'm heading to Vegas in a few weeks and I am looking to play 2/5 while I am there. Can anyone who has experience playing in this game tell me where there is a good 2/5 game. I have heard that Ceasar's carries a 2/5 with no cap. Can anyone verify this' Are there other uncapped 2/5 games in vegas' Thanks for all your help. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): Internet poker in the Bahamas Yea, It's completely pathetic that these kids who are in the Bahamas many of whom are under 21 and are finally able to go out and party are sitting in a hotel lobby playing online poker tournaments. It's no wonder why many of them have no girlfriends/lives. They can't stay away from it for more than 10 minutes. Bust out of the main event and jump right into an online MTT' How about enjoying the weather and the beach. It'll be interesting to see in 10 years what kind of lives these young internet players are living. They may be wealthy but that's pretty much all they will have. Re(3): Ivey SBrugby hand (300/600) just an fyi, for the guy who said A7 is not a possible holding. the other night they were 4 handed at 200/400 phil made is 1200 from the button, sb made it 3800 from the sb, phil made it 1200 from the button and sb called. flop was K88, both checked, turn K, both checked, river 8 and sb bet 25,000 and phil called after some thought. sb showed 9 10 of hearts, phil showed Q 2 of clubs so i would never say that any holding is unlikely for either of these players. question/thought on bankroll management theory say you opt to use a 40x buy-in requirment for whatever level it is you play. if you are a player who does not buy in for the maximum amount does that mean you need only 40x what you sit with or do you still need 40x the max buy in. Ex. if you play 2-4nl and you always sit with $120 do you need $4800 or the full $16,000 to be using proper bankroll management' thoughts and comments appreciated. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

couple of thoughts on the Gold lawsuit First off, let me say that I do not like Jamie Gold and think he acted like a fool during the WSOP but I do believe that he earned the $12 million and should rightfully receive said money. In thinking about this lawsuit I remembered back to my commercial law class when we discussed contracts and I remember that there were 4 elements to a contract that had to be present for it to be enforceable. Two of them were consideration (giving something in return) and the contract had to be in writing if over a certain amount of money. Neither of these two elements are present as the plaintiff did ... please help me put my friend in his place-HSP question Ok so me and my friend are sitting here arguing about a hand from high stakes poker season one. In the greenstein/farha hand with AA vs KK my friend is trying to say it was a $1 Million pot and I say that there is no way because i'm pretty sure neither of them sat with near enough money for it to be that large and that farha would not put in $500,000 with just KK. Can anyone clear this up. Thanks in advance. Posted in: Poker Discussion |
