Re(1): Misplayed KK? i would have raised preflop then checked raised the turn to see where i really stood. after the trun u only had 10 outs if u put him on a low flush 2K's 2 10's and 7 spades. in the end with a pot with that many bets in there it is a correct call. with 10 outs u need 3.6 to 1 to break even. sounds like a profitable call in the long run Posted in: Poker Discussion |

low ball poker I have just recently changed my style of play. I have strated playing lowball poker trying to keep the pots small before the flop and then trying to out play my opennets after the flop. I was wondering if any one knew of any good books on this style of play. Thanks Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(4): interesting hand form live game 2/5 nl last night.. thoughts?? well if u are confident that u have the best hand w/a str8 u would be about 65% to win the pot even against 2 other players. i belive it is worth it to string the players along trying to extract the most money possible Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): interesting hand form live game 2/5 nl last night.. thoughts?? Very interesting hand. if ur read is right and u strongely belive u have the best hand u could smooth call the turn bet hoping to drag along player 1. Then make a smallish value bet on the river hoping to get called by both players. if u shove there is a chance both players will fold. we sit a long time at a poker table for a hand like this. I think u should try and extract the most money possible from both player. I think it is possible for either player to have KQ here. Many players are capable of splashing around here with two overs and a gut shot. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

loose action in a 2/5NL cash game The table is incredibly deep stacked with the avg stack being b/t 1200 and 1800.The chip leader had around 4000. There is an avg of 4 to 5 people paying 25-30 dollars to see the flop. i have approx 430 in my stack when the following hand came up two people limp and the player to my right makes it 15(in middle position). I have 34off and call. Two calls behind me including the button. the sb folds. The BB raises puting 70 in the pot. The first two limpers call as does the player to my right. i call and the two players behind me call. Off to the flop 7 handed. pot = 350 flop 2 5 Q (two ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Am I right to be P****d off with this! he had a open ended str8 draw and a flush draw. he made an agressive play at the pot with 15 outs(66% to 34%). he gave him self two chances to win the pot... 1) u fold... 2) u call and he hits one of his outs....he got called, then made his hand after the river. he played the hand well as did u. this time the cards fell his way. no need to be upset about how either hand was played. suck it up... tell the guy nice hand... and take the beat like a man. flopped quads... could i have made more? 2/5 NL hodem in tunica. i had been sitting in the main game for approximatley 2 1/2 hours. i had flopped a set early to win a big pot... then played a pot w Q9 and flop was Q high all diamonds... i reraised the live one thinking my pair was good... turned two pair bet again and got a call... river was a non diamond ace... the live one bet the size of the pot, i called and won a big pot i tell u this so u get an idea of my table image at the time the following hand came up i had approx 1400 in play villain had at least 600(he was playing bills so i dont know for sure) several limpers... i ... Re(1): Flop Play u flopped the nuts. u play hours to do this. it is time to try to make the most money off the hand as possible. there is a flush draw on board... and with three players in the pot with u i would bet my bottom dollar that someone is on the flush draw. u could smooth call the raise hoping that the other two players come in behind u... but if u do this i thnk the flush draw is getting the right price to call. so this option would get the max money in to the pot... but everyone might stay in so there would be alot of cards that could hit to give someone else the winner. i think u want to try ... Re(1): did i play this badly? i like the play. u would normally win a decent size pot by giving him the lead in the hand. however the counter argument is that he made a decent size raise preflop. so u should have made it 3800-4200 to play to really put him to the test. if he decides to fold his hand preflop u would have added another 2000 to ur stack... which is not a bad result. good luck Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): lay down queens or? tough i think i might have to call here. with AA or KK is he really raising u that much preflop' i think he would put in about half his stack about 7000. this raise seems fitting for a hend like jj, 1010, 99, 88 a 3 dollar tourney is really hard to put anyone on a hand anyway after all is said and done i think i suck it up and call. good luck Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): JJ in middle of 50 NL tourney - fold? the raise made by u with aj was too small. i would have raised 1200-1600. then for someone to come over the top they must risk more chips giving u better info about where u are in the hand kinda of torn about what to do with JJ Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): What do you do? what r the blinds' this makes a huge diff. AK is pretty strong here. the utg player is on the short stack and could have nearly anything. the main focus of concern is from the cut off player calling the allin here. 4 situations could occur. 1) u fold and a player could get knocked out and u move up in the money. (not a bad result) 2) u play the hand and gamble on winning a huge pot right at the beginning of the final table a) u play and get all of ur money in b) u play and dont get it all in my opinion is to just call and try to check it down. the pot is so big it does not matter which ... Re(1): Good villain call or bad villain call...Also, rate my play... first of all the min raise is weak. i think a better raise would have been 3000-3400 to really put the remaing players to a descision. after the flop i might have just folded for 2 reasons 1) ur chip stack is not in too bad of shape 2) u did not flop a pair. if u push like u did u r praying for a fold. it is one of those bets that most likely a call means u r beat. if u r not beat ur opposition has more outs than they thought because of ur non paired hand. after it is all said and done the villain was gambling with u. and he loved seeing that an 8 or 5 would win the pot as well as his str8 ...
