Re:Idk this maybe any easy play but i need help with it This is a very tough position. I would say that you have almost no fold equity if you shove which means you are hoping that he called your 3bet with high cards and decided to try and lead-steal. Youre in a tough spot and I think his bet dictates that you fold. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Another tough spot with AQ His preflop raise is a significant part of this puzzle. To a player that has just sat down and opens 3.5x utg, AQ is probably a fold. Sometimes the big open is weak and if thats your read, reraising pre is the move. The flat pre is OK though. But if youve read his open to be of at least moderate strength, which is why you wouldnt have reraised him pre, then you should ask why you are raising him on the flop. If you are raising for value, you are praying that this is a bad player and is going to go off w a medium suited A bc in all likelihood, giving this guy very little credit, that is the ... Re:$109 PS. 55 in middle position Some of the players who I talk whose advice I greatly respect would tell you to just fold this hand. If the table is playing tight like but cheeks, an open is ok. However, the problem with opening this hand is exactly the problem you ran into. When you open it and dont take it down, if the flop doesnt improve your hand, you have to put too much of your stack in to fire the cbet. Your hand is essentially 72. I think the earliest pos you should raise this hand here is hijack+1. Your stack is not deep enough to risk putting in so many chips w a cbet.Your <20bb stack should be preserved at ... Re:WWYD - JJ - final table with 4 left Riverk is right that you cant raise fold here, and it would be difficult to argue that point to the contrary. However, with stacks med-deep (you are all around 40bbs) I think flatting here is the best play. I dont think moving up in the ladder should be the main factor for consideration but rather your opponents desire to move up the ladder. If this were a table full of very competent accomplished players, you just go w JJ 5handed here. However, against this group, they are most likely looking to move up the ladder. So if you raise and he ships you are going to be beat and this guys range, ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:MiniFTOPS event 18: ur thoughts on this hand please, 20 min in, so no reads this is a perfect example of why small ball is a great way to play these stages of the tourney. Your reraise bloats the pot and reopens the action, two things you dont want to do if you feel that you have an edge over your opponents. The value that you can extract from QQ unimproved at this stage of the tournament is dubious at best. If the player is a nutball, be happy to four bet and get it in here if he shoves. However, absent that information, you are much better off just flatting and having a very well disguised hand. All of this being said, the call after you raise is totally fine as ... Re:Need help reading/analyzing a hand Youve created a sticky situation by checking this flop. Just bc fownes is betting every flop doesnt mean that you should check to him. your hand isnt so strong that you need to go for the ch/rs as the best ev line. It can work but you leave yourself in a spot where you dont know where youre at. I dont think the fl call and re-evaluate is bad, but it seems like a weak line. With your stacks I like a small raise on your part planning to fold if he ships. Your rereraise represents so much strength that if game does come back over the top you can feel good folding knowing that at that time you ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:FTOPS M.E. Never fold KK pre??? no dis intended at all! you played well. I thought the shove was a bad play, only in that with your ep open and two raises behind do you really want to play for your whole tourney in a spot where you could easily be dominated. I do apologize for the way I worded it. Most likely it was a result of me being mad for making the wrong laydown. So I am sorry. Obviously we all make mistakes all the time. 'ppreciate the congrats! gl Posted in: Poker Discussion |

FTOPS M.E. Never fold KK pre??? This hand is late in the FTOPS ME. The BB had been playing very tight. I had not seen many hands at showdown with the UTG raiser so didnt have an exact read on him and certainly couldnt yet give him credit for being a donk. To boot, my end game had been a bit lacking in that I had made some mistakes underestimating how tight people play late in these tournies: Full Tilt Poker Game #7695800940: FTOPS Main Event (54558458), Table 328 - 14000/28000 Ante 3500 - No Limit Hold'em - 3:09:20 ET - 2008/08/18 Seat 1: sckilla (552,115) Seat 2: Kelly Kim (270,078) Seat 3: The-Toilet 0 ...
