Charity Poker in Michigan
I know Al (the owner) up in Flint. it is alright but even Al goes to Snookers when he plays. I don't play round by round but Snookers usually has two tables going. I live half way between Flint and Snookers and I go to Snookers. Snookers is safer. Rougher crowd in Flint. They did have two robberys and one shooting there.

I think it was total of $2200. $750 for 1st. I got $250 for 4th. Yes the buy in are low. I think Windsor is the best bet for higher buy ins. But these other rooms on Saturday and Sundays you can usually find a $100 buy in or $200. Windsor at the end of May is having a $1,000 buy in. I played that last time and they got about 220 people. Keep your eye out for Toledo Hollywood Casino that is due to open end of May. It will be a WPT venue and will have a few series type tournies. It is only an hour drive from Auburn Hills.

I played at the River last night. Finished 4th out 70. $40 buy in 30k in chips, 20 minute levels. Not a bad tourny.

1/2 hand with AA
smart bet. Just the other day I buttoned straddled for $5 and only one caller. I made it $25 and he called with A8. the flop was 8 K q. He shoved instantly. 8 on the river. I find making it $25 to $30 people will not fold. They think you are protecting,even if you play tight all night. so taking down all the pre-flop $5's is not a bad idea. Anything less and you are asking to get snapped.

Snookers by far. You never have to wait for a cash game. Tournys are ok. If you are a good player you will know where you are in each hand in the tourny. These guys are not tricky. Solid play will get you to the final table. No need to get creative. the old saying " it is hard to tell a deaf guy a good story" applies here. They don't pay attention to position or what you might have in your hand. if you make a hand bet the piss out of it. If they have top pair you have all their chips. I think people shy away from Cada's because it is all of Joe's friends playing. I think the thought is why ...

"Interesting" Live $1/$2 hand
I fold. 40 something guys in the Michigan card rooms are normally tight. Most don't know how to bet so they over bet their good hands. My guess he had a boat. If you were prepared to call $50 on the turn why not bet out $25 to see where you are' If you get raised you can let it go. Again people seldom re-raise in Michigan 1/2 games unless they have a monster. Very few have that ablility.

definitely jam, with $150 in the pot at the time, you can't let someone get in cheap and another heart hit. Put the money in and pray another heart does not hit or the board does not pair.

Is Carbon super slow or is it just me' Last night I got AA twice and it froze then timed me out. Seems like it freezes way too much. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem. It is very frustrating as timing is a critical part of the game.

How Many Live Tournies Have You Cashed?
I agree. I cash about 30% in the locals. $30 -$50 ins. Mind you some of the time they give the bubble or bubble plus two their money back. It really does not matter % you cash in these. It is winning or chopping the win that matters.

I think hearts is a very real possibility. By min raising it stops you. You probably called and checked the turn, essentially he bought a free card.

which play is the best play? Live tourny Indiana State Championship deep stack tourny
It is right after dinner break, blinds are 400/800 with $75 ante I have $17,000 in chips, villian has me covered but not by much. I get dealt QQ in the big blind (2k already in the pot) It gets folded around to the button and he makes it $2k I raise all in and get called. He has AK flop is J K 4 turn A river blank Should I have smoothed pre and did a stop and go' Being able to get away from the hand with K on the flop'

Thanks I found it. I think I will skip Tuesday. They say if they get more than 100 players then it will be a two day event. Really' 25 minute blinds and they can't make it a one day deal' I don't feel like paying $100 for a hotel to play in a $235 event.. Maybe I will wait until Thursday.

I am thinking of going down on Tuesday for the $200 + #5 Nl event. Does anyone have a guess as to how many players and how the blind structure is' The lady on the phone really did not want to answer any of my questions. She did say they were 25 minute blinds and start with 10k in chips. Looking for confirmation.

I think if they got the investor deal done that would = getting their license back. Because then they would have made arrangements to pay back the players, deal with DOJ and separate accounts. I think if there was good news from the investors we would have heard already. I think anyone who buys ftp is buying a gold mine. Once this other stuff is worked out they basically have a license to print money. All the software is already set up etc.

Looking for Live backing for Hammond end of month tourny
I am looking for a stake to play in the Horseshoe in Hammond IN end of the month $500.00 buy in. They are adding $15k to the pot. 1st place should be about $40k especially since the WSOP is over. I play a lot live but mostly locally. The local tournaments do get 100 people but the buy ins are small. I am running at 40% Itm in those. Good live tournaments in Michigan and surrounding areas
The problem with soaring Eagles is you have to drive up there the day before to ensure you get into the tournament. They only have 180 seats. I have been thinking about the Hammond tourny.
