I just hooked in a cable digital optical out from the tv to the digital optical in on the receiver. I switched the input on the receiver to where i plugged it in, but still no luck.

help with receiver
OK, so I have my blu-ray player, cable box, and xbox all hooked up to my tv via hdmi. Is there a way to hear sound for all of these through my receiver (surround sound) without hooking them all directly into the receiver' Maybe with just one cable from the tv to receiver' I ask mainly because my receiver doesn't have hdmi inputs, and I want to see if there is a way to just use one cable to connect the sound from my tv to my receiver. The receiver is a Yamaha HTR-5860.

I'm a trombone player, not a violin player, but I did take a string tech class while in school. IMO it is easier to learn guitar than violin. If you already have some musical training, it will be easier obv, but violin is a hard instrument to play well. You will likely suck for a while. It isn't really something that you can learn by book or DVD because so much of the training is mirroring someone who plays well. If you want to do it, I would recommend getting a private teacher in your area.

Has anyone looked at Hightower's last three games or so' They are terrible. He has the same stats that he had when he was a backup to Edge. I say that you start Johnson, Portis (if he starts), and Lance Moore. Lee Evans has been decent for yardage (prob averaging 80 yds a game or so), but you most likely won't see a td from him, unless it is a long one. If Portis doesn't play, I start Hightower I guess. He was hyped so much, and then he ends up being about the same as a starter.

This is a tough situation, but you should probably bench Williams. TB has only allowed one rush td this year, if I remember correctly. I am a Carolina fan, so I personally wouldn't do it, but you are stacked.

If you read the op, I did nothing to actually start a confrontation. Also, if I had seen the guy backing up, I certainly would not have pulled in my driveway. I doubt I'll lose sleep over it though. Probably just some drunk dude.

This idiot must have been going at least 55 in a 35. I turn off that road every day with the same amount of room between my car and the car coming from the left. Also, I'm not really sure what you mean by man up. I guess I was supposed to go up to the dude with the baseball bat and tell him to fuck off. I don't know this guy. I've never seen the truck either. My read was that I don't want some psycho to hit me with a baseball bat. Also, I have siblings, so I don't want to provoke some later action that could hurt them.

I got out of the car after he couldn't see me anymore, but there is only a little strip of road until he turned off onto a main road. I couldn't get his plate #. I asked my neighbors as well, and no one got anything, although they did comment on how crazy he was driving.

Ok, so I was at a stop sign in my neighborhood. I turned left from the stop sign, so that I could park in my driveway, which is behind my house. I looked both ways, and I saw this white truck coming from the left. I had plenty of distance and time, so I pulled out and completed my turn. Well, this guy sped up as I pull out (He was driving a huge truck, maybe with straight pipes and I heard him floor it) and almost hits me. I turn into my driveway, and I see him put it in reverse.
