Re:how can he ck the river ????????? He could have got a few more chips but I doubt very much more. The other pros wouldnt have thrown money into a pot where a flush existed. Scott is a very, very good player. A less than average player could not have survived the bubble with a short stack and turn it into a top 20 stack playing not to mention vs. a field of pros. TID Scott!!! Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Central OH/Columbus Players About a month ago I started a thread trying to locate local players to get together with to discuss poker to improve our game. There were many responses and a lot of interest. One response was from Chipless Wonder, an excellent player from Westerville. He turned me on to a site, which I believe he created. . This forum is jam packed with local players that are both profitable and willing to help each other out. So instead of trying to organize and lead a crusade to form a local game, I recommend that all local players sign up there. There is no cost, but tons of valuable information, and no ... Re:Columbus/Central OH Players I'm reading the same forums you are bud. If you read a book on how to drive a car would you be as good a driver as someone who sat behind the wheel with an instructor in the passenger seat' Probably not. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Columbus/Central OH Players I'd like to let the thread run a bit longer to get some more interested parties. I'd really like to get a top player involved. Once we develope a group of guys, I'd like to get together for a beer or coffee. Ultimately, I'd like for us to watch one another play online and discuss our play. I've always wanted to hear someone elses opinion about specific moves or decisions that I make during a game. That's where the top player will come in handy. Overall, I think it would be fun to form a "C-Bus Crew," plus it can only improve our game. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re:Stock Tip You should not "buy a dividend" - correct. Which means you shouldnt buy a stock just because it is about to pay a dividend. Maybe this is what you mean. In Broker school this is called selling dividends which is not prudent. However, buying a stock long term because it is solid and pays a dividend is a great strategy. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Stock Tip stock prices traditionally increase above true value just before the divs are paid out. After the payment is paid, the stock price drops. However, in an somewhat effecient market, the stock price come back to true value and then above that value once the stock is about to pay out again. In you analogy company A never loses value. What you are forgetting is that company's have two options, 1. use cash to pay divs or use cash to reinvest in the company. Either way, csh is going out of the company in the form of an expense. So your A stock vs. B stock example is not even close to ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Re:Stock Tip There will be some sort of roadblock. You never see that big of a discount when a deal and price is in place. Think about it. Do you really think that you are the only person to notice that there happens to be a huge discepency in price and offer' If this was a "lock" dont you think Warren Buffet would have already purchased $2-$5 billion worth of BUD' I am a Advisor myself and something doesn't add up. Re:Stock Tip You had to be a stockholder by Octoer 3rd to get the $70 cash exchange. I true lock would be FCX. I also like PVX, an energy trust that has traditionally held firm between $10 - $11. With it trading now at around $4.50, you will likely double your money when the market rebounds. Oh, by the way, you'll earn around 28% dividends while you wait. Posted in: Off Topic |

Re(2): What do you think of me? Why in the world would I make this up' Most made up stories are about how great a person is and how much money they make. I said the opposite. Im telling you how horribly I managed my bankroll and that I lost over $12k in profits not once but twice. Why would I make that up'''' You can also look up my stats and see that I took 3rd in FT $35k MTT. Again, not made up. I am simply looking for some advice. If you are not going to be +EV to these forums or this thread then get the hell out. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(6): What do you think of me? W2D, you make a pretty good asessment of me. My biggest problem IS BR Management. Also, I truly understand and want donks to call me down with shit. It just seems like more times than not they hit. I now have children so I cant afford to play 25/50 so thats why I dropped so low in limits. The one part you are wrong about is my dedication to the game. I've ready several poker books (Super System, the little Green Book), magazines, DVDS, and forums. So I want to learn. Re(4): What do you think of me? Well, I guess I can hang for only short periods of time. I used to have lot of expendible cash to play higher limits. Believe me, at first it was extremely difficult to play even $1/$2. I almost feel like 1/2 might be easier to beat than .25/.5 because you dont have guys calling you down to the river with shit. In my case they always seem to catch on the river. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

What do you think of my game? First off I love to gamble. Playing poker for me is an addiction and an obsession. But most importantly, fun for me. I am trying to figure out if I am good, a fish, lucky at times, or unlucky more times than not. I think that I have learned a ton over the past 6 years or so since I first played on Party. I once placed 3rd in a $35,000 guaranteed MTT. I have twice ran my BR from a couple grand to over $12k within a couple of weeks playing cash games. But I have also busted out many times including the time that I ran my BR up over $12k. I have since practiced more restraint and better BR ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
