Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread Mainstream media will tell you the "simple" concept that you have to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. However it is simply not true and you have been misinformed. Your body needs fuel to burn fat just like it needs fuel to function. I too once practiced watching calories and running several miles a day.... I still looked and felt like a pussy. I dare you to try eating 5 or 6 meals the next couple days of just meats and veggies cooked in organic butter or coconut oil (even for breakfast). or anytime you are hungry. With working out you will see a difference in that ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread Again, i should have been more specific. When I say cardio i am referring to aerobic work such as jogging, elliptical, and the bike where you are working at a steady pace for usually long periods of time. If you trade sprints in for the treadmill {you can also do sprint intervals on a bike) I think you will find your time better spent. Also functional sports such as basketball are great. If you think about it, you aren't aerobic training when you play basketball. Basketball is filled with short sprints, cuts, jumping,etc.... but if you don't exert any energy you are probably just jogging ... Posted in: Off Topic |

Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread Ok you are right. Saying that there are no benefits to doing cardio other than stress relief is very incorrect. However, I don't believe there are any benefits from aerobic training that cant be accomplished by strength training and anaerobic sprinting. (except for the extreme case of those who aren't capable of strength training/anaerobic work.) Like i said, if you love to do it then more power to you. I, however, enjoy building lean mass while cutting body fat. All of our goals are different, so I'm sorry for coming across as ignorant towards the idea of cardio and misleading anyone. Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread i work 45-50 hours a week. I still make it to the gym 5 days a week, but there is nothing wrong with going 3 days a week. Also, preparing meals is the hardest obstacle... it also sucks because eating food thats been in the fridge for a week is nasty. But you have to be honest with yourself, you either love food or you love your body. Posted in: Off Topic |

Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread coolhandkev- I'm sorry i should have been more clear. Cardio is not bad for you. if you enjoy it then by all means, eat your heart out with it. One question though, would you rather look like a sprinter or a marathon runner. If you want to lose body fat the better option is to lift weights and lift heavy. Personally, i lift for an hour 5 days a week and say fuck cardio and go home and work on my diet. so yes, cardio will help you lose body fat, but not as effectively as weight training. oh and another thing, your body does recognize what you are eating. if you heard different you ... Official 2012 OT Workout Crew Thread Big Earn- losing that lower belly fat will not be accomplished through cardio. If that is your goal with the cardio you are wasting your time. Only time I say people should do cardio is if it is a stress reliever. If you want to lose that belly fat you do three things 1) proper diet/supplementation 2) plenty of sleep 3) reduce as much stress as possible--- stress in the main cause for belly fat advising people to do cardio three times a week isn't going to help them reach their goals. What's your typical workout? Bigearn.... Yes, that is what would be considered a "perfect" day of eating. I hope others just use it as a guide to what they should be eating... doesn't mean everybody has to follow that. But i believe you have an understanding of nutrition/lifting. But i have to disagree with your [point on overkill on the tempo/rest. The rest periods are higher because I am lifting the maximum weight for the designed number of reps. If i can get the complete number of reps one set, I am increasing my weight until i reach failure. That is part of getting stronger. The rest is intended to give your nervous ... What's your typical workout? Everybody has their own opinion... with little experience. If your goal is to simply cut body fat and tone up... Stop the stupid ass cardio... what a waste of time. Get off the treadmill, get off the eliptical and go do sprints. Or do sprints on the bike. Women and men are notorious for going into the gym and jumping on a machine for an hour and reading a book, all the while thinking they are "working so hard"... If it is Abs you are looking for. Then it starts with your diet.... The best excercises for you abs are.... wait for it.... its not crunches or leg lifts.... its Squats and ... Posted in: Off Topic |

wow. business ethics itt The other store is dumb for making it $10 cheaper. If their store is just down the street they should undercut you by less so they can make more profit. Obviously you are more pissed at the fact that they stole your ideas, but you should view this as a blessing in disguise. I think you learned more from this thread than you did at school and should stop being so butthurt because people come into your thread to tell you its just business. Posted in: Off Topic |
