New PokerStars STT KOs... good value? It seems to me like they would be less profitable (from a numbers standpoint, not in terms of how soft they are) compared to normal SNGs. As a good player, you stand to finish higher in a SNG than an average player. However, in this case, there will be people that finish below you who knocked out people before they were bounced, taking money out of the prize pool - Im guessing 30-40% of the KO money will miss the top 3 finishers. So when you consistently finish higher, the percentages of the prize pool you actually get will be lower. Sure, you'll recoup some KO money in games you miss the ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

OMFG Tiffany Michelle on FOX talking politics Sadly, I worked on this show (in a technical capacity, Im not at all responsible for her booking). The director knew I was a poker player, so he asked me if I liked her or not, and was surprised at the string of expletives that came through the headset when I answered. I will say that in general, FBN has treated poker pretty fairly; theyve already had Pappas, Cada and D'Amato on to make their cases for legalization, and there's rumors of a weeklong series on the potential legalization of online gambling in the next month or two. Good poker setup? Its funny, I actually just got this monitor - but to use as my second TV. It has a better resolution, more HDMI inputs etc than most TVs of the same size. They also come in 24" and 26", whereas most TVs go from 22" to 27" with nothing in between. Havent used it as a monitor yet (got a 19" Hanns G for my second which does OK), but it's the best <"27 TV Ive found. The 24" was about $300 on if I remember right. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

NBC's "Face The Ace" did not fair too well in the ratings..... I'll admit right off the bat that I didn't watch the show. But from what I read in the front page article, it seemed like it would be very bad for poker. Unless I'm mistaken, not one of the pros actually won a match. Now I don't know what the blind structure was like or if they cared or not, but the fact is that we are right now about to make a push to get online poker legalized, and this is our first and probably best chance at getting it done. Hypothetically speaking how often will a good sng player player break even for 1000 games ... Hey Skill, First, you and I know both know that the issue isn't the quality of the games we play; they're the same as ever. And I'd even say there are less regs in our games as most have moved up out of them. The short answer is, it happens. If I had to guess, I'd say once every 8k or 10k games you'll go on one of those ridiculous bad swings, which can last for a few hundred or over a thousand, you never know... Artest to sign w Lakers I dont like the swap. I think at this point Ariza is a better on-the-ball defender, a better energy guy, and very clutch. Plus he's a lot younger and definitely improving every season. I have a bad feeling that at some point (tho probably not next year the way Houstons heading) he's gonna come back to haunt the Lakers, much like he did to Orlando (except they didnt know how good he was and LA does). That being said, Im sure Artest will be fine. He'll be the 3rd or 4th scoring option, so he wont have to have the ball in his hands much - he can pretty much park himself in the ... bachelorette party Just go to Vegas; with the drop in tourism recently, I bet you could get some insane hotel deals which would even out the cost compared to going to AC, and leave you with a lot more options. Chauncey Billups...HOF...discussion No chance Billups make the HOF, and he shouldn't. He's a PG that is a mediocre assist man, a scorer who doesnt score much or shoot well, and his biggest claim to fame is that he's had moderate success on good teams. The obvious reason he doesn't get in is simple: The HOF is for the All-Stars of the All-Stars, and the man has barely made a few All-Star teams - and some pretty mediocre players have gotten on an All-Star team or two based on their teams performance. Is there a bigger tool in poker than David Williams? One of the douchiest things Ive ever seen was that Antonio Esfandiari "article" he wrote about him and David Williams going out to the club and how cool they are. With paper checks being the only working option, and those taking MINIMUM 3 business days, usually more like 5, plus a day to clear, and Memorial Day on Monday...even if he gets there, he doesnt get there. Rockets/Fakers Official Game 3 Thread Was it a flagrant' No, it wasnt, it was a good old hard foul. As a Laker fan, I admit that. It's also pretty clear why they called it. In a series that has been rough and kinda getting out of hand, a breakaway foul near the head on a player in the air, from behind, when the game was already basically over - they were just sending a message - especially since Artest's ejection didn't matter at that point and he wont be suspended for the next game. UPDATE: Collusion ring uncovered, team steals over $10k on Cereus Theyre not reading the thread, just the title. That's the problem. There is clearly a collusion ring here (which might only be one person with many screennames). Being Cereus and incredibly shady, they may or may not have have busted him/them, but will likely never redistribute monies or announce their findings. OP really needs to update his post to include the new information and stem the tide of stupid posts in this thread. Also, if you play these SNGs on Cereus at all, Id start emailing them and demanding to be compensated if you've played with these guys; it's the only way ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |
