Re(1): Do you just go broke here every time? For my part, I cant see raising UTG here unless you're willing to bet top pair in position with a bad kicker. Certainly, you have to expect a call a good portion (but certainly not most) of the time, and in that situation, you have to be prepared to go with it. Otherwise, I think your raise UTG has no long term EV if you are unwilling to take the lead on the flop, especially with such a friendly flop and a check to you. This is just an obvious potential result of your preflop choice. See you again soon, Blue. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): Winners of WSOP seats: Please respond The simple answer is no. Stars takes care of their people pretty well. I have played for them the last two years in a row. The additional 2k is worth it. No one will give you anything until you are very deep. But take it someone who's buying in this year, the hotel, etc adds up, too. Take the deal, if you make it deep enough to get sponsors, you've already cashed big, so you didn't leave much behind. See him there, Blue. Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(1): When do you look at your hole cards during life action?? All the above advice to wait is correct. I admit to having taken your approach years ago, but had it beaten out of me by none other than Phil Gordon. I am primarily a live cash game player for a living, and I can assure you, waiting until your turn to act is by far the best choice for both amateurs and professionals. Ignore all the silly advice above about quick peaks, pretending not to look, not wanting to be the table focus in turn, etc. If you need proof, move down to a level where it is common place to look when it's dealt, like 4-8 limit with a kill or something and play that for two ... Re(2): Congrats erbloore Honestly, I felt like this was a bad play by me. There was a lot of history between us at this final and a long three handed session. I felt like he was extremely aggressive (read reckless), especially with any drawing hand or overcards. I really felt he had a-5, or other weak ace, or one pair. But I really thought he could do this with any random overs like K-Q. I had about double his chips and felt like I could beat him even in the reverse chip situation so I tried to draw to a six outer. His bluffs were consistently bigger bets than his real hands and I had committed enough chips I thought ... Posted in: Poker Discussion |

Re(3): Can u flip your cards up during the hand? It is always a violation in any tournament to intentionally expose physically or verbally your hand in order to induce or reduce action, or attept to get a 'read' on an opponent. The PENALTY is what changes. In the WSOP, you'll get a time penalty. In others, the hand is dead. In a cash game, exposing your hand is done all the time in heads up situations at the higher limits and is not a violation at most clubs. I have played in home games where they kill the hand for this. It is inappropriate to expose your hand when others are yet to act behind you, but in casino cash games, I see it ... Re(1): Cash game players, what's your move I call here for sure. Folding in this spot does not have long term EV. Your weak lead could cause him to bluff here or just really believ his q-10 is good.
